Attributed to age, however it is free of cracks, stains, fleabites, crazing and repairs and it measures approximately 5.5" H. This adorable dog is ceramic and loves math and flowers. It stands 7 1/2" tall and 5 1/2" wide and it is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The white areas are showing crazing in the glaze. The dog is a Spaniel and it is holding a basket of flowers in it's mouth. There is a gold paint chain running down the front of it's body and the are x's and equal signs painted on it.

A true pair and the dog's positions reverse such that they are facing each other when the figurines are placed side-by-side(pic#1) Appear hand-modelled and not from molds and please note how one of the dogs is a little shorter and fatter than the other as can be seen especially in pic#4. Here's a very nice antique bisque pug dog figurine with cold painted face. Eyes and tail and gilt ribbon and tassels. There is also a faint tan wash over the back of the dog's body. The figurine measures about 6 inches tall and 4 inches long by 2¾ inches wide at the base. This piece is in nice condition with the exception of a shallow chip at the inside edge of the dog's right ear which is visible mainly from underneath. Otherwise. There are no chips, nicks, cracks or other damage. There some numbers and what may be a blue inkstamp mark of some kind on the bottom. Please see picture. LARGE EARLY STAFFORDSHIRE PORCELAIN GREYHOUND WHIPPET DOG FIGURINE W/ HARE
This is a great large Stafford-shire figure of a dog with hare measuring 11 inches wide. 6 inches deep and 6.5 inches tall. It dates to the late 1800's. As with most pieces of this age, there is considerable crazing which is clearly visible. It has been repaired as you see in the last two pics. Looking closely at the last pic, you can see the line crossing the dog's leg. It was poorly repaired when I acquired it. All of the old glue was removed and it was properly repaired( this will never break in this spot again! I think the repair is so good, it doesn't need to be relegated as a shelf piece! Standing with his four legs on an oval round reddish coloured base. Nice speckled reddish colour of its fur. And the rabbit is speckled brown. It has a dark brown collar around the neck and its tail's end is wrapped around his left hind leg. Some'coleslaw' patches are placed on the base and three stump. Half around the base is a gilt line. Size: Height: 16 cm(6.2 inches) Width: 14 cm(5.5 inches) Condition: Unfortunately half of the rabbit is missing and at its left hind leg there is a hairline crack at two places. This is one of several porcelain animal pieces from Volkstedt to Staffordshire that I acquired. This one is an English early Staffordshire reclining greyhound or whippet dog. Rarely found in such awesome condition no chips or cracks. As expected no makers mark but there is the tiny air hole and some misc. markings on underside that the previous owner may have written. I am not sure. Very nice addition to your Staffordshire animal pieces a nice change from sitting up spaniels. See all photos.
