Made of the finest porcelain of the time, it’s hard to believe this tea cup set was manufactured in approximately 1774 and is 239 years old. He is in excellent displayable condition, although he has an old and slightly discolored repair to his right arm as photographed. There are no other damages or repairs to note, and I did blacklight him. There is the snake crawling up the post.I just wanted to point that out. This is a rare Meissen Miniature figurine of a young Gentleman with a walking stick made in Germany. He has a tri point hat. Fancy clothes and flower detail. This is a very old statue made in the 1800s. He has gold gilt decoration and is beautifully painted. He stands 4" tall and 1 1/4" wide. Rare Antique Meissen or Dresden Mother Child Baby Figurine Rococco Base Flawless
This is one of the finest porcelain pieces you can imagine. I purchased it about 20 years ago. Tagged as Meissen. I've tried to locate the exact maker mark for many years. It's what appears to be a blue F, underglaze. Then some impressed letters, AaM, I believe. Then below that some impressed numbers. There are no Meissen crossed swords. The figure is in flawless condition, and has been black light tested for any cracks that are naked to the bare eye, there are none. Also, free of any repairs. I've taken the pics with an iPhone, so they simply don't do justice to the piece. The glazing on the porcelain is the best I've seen. The figure is approx. 6 1/2 inches in height. Up for auction is something that very rarely comes up for sale and it was found in a safe where it had been kept for over 50 years! It had a note attached to the bottom of the grouping that read"very rare piece of Meissen. Extremely valuable, bought at New York Auction in 1961" What a shame that this amazing piece of porcelain was in a safe for all those years. Instead of being displayed. This truly is a magnificent piece of Meissen: there are 4 cherubs. Or Putti, with a goat in the middle. The detail of the faces is absolutely beautiful. The one Cherub is feeding the goat. While the other is sitting on him. Please note that the goat's horns are in perfect condition and un-damaged! The crossed swords mark can be seen on the bottom. Beautiful Apple Harvest Meissen group figurine. Marked with the blue crossed swords on the bottom. Also the painted#16 and incised# 1998. Some repairs on this piece. The goblet is repaired or is a replacement item. In the front boys hand. The lower portion of his leg also shows being repaired under close magnification. There are multiple leaf nicks including on the apples in the boys hat at the bottom area. There are numerous repairs and re-painting to the leaves in the tree. They look professionally done in my opinion. Not obviously repaired unless you inspect with close magnification. No major structural repairs. Nobody has lost a head. All fingers and toes look good, no issues with the base, trunk or ladder. I have looked at this under a black light and do not detect anything other than what I have mentioned above.
