Antique German Porcelain Woman Cherub Putti Cupid Dresden Flowers Group Figurine
~ Antique German Figurine ~ This is a very lovely handpainted German porcelain figure with fine modeling. Superb coloring, and exquisite porcelain applied flowers. A beautiful maiden sits atop two decorative tasseled pillows, and she is helping Cupid as he is struggling to climb up next to her. Cupid's bow and arrows are on the ground at their feet, and the woman holds one golden arrow in her hand. The figure is a nice large size measuring 8 1/2" tall by 7" wide. And it is in excellent condition aside from arrow has tip chip and a few tiny nicks to flower petals/leaves, very minor. Rare smaller Meissen Porcelain Figure.M 104 91"Love Bound" A LOVELY MEISSEN CUPID PUTTO TIED UP. This"Love Bound" German figurine depicting the god Cupid dates from the 19TH CENTURY. Cupid is the god of desire. Erotic love, attraction, and affection. As you can see by viewing the pictures. Our poor little putto sits on a on circular grassy pedestal. The perimeter of Cupid's pedestal is painted in beautiful hues of blues and pinks and accented with gold draping and a sea shell design. This little angel and mighty cherub is sans clothing with only a pink/mauve cloth covering him. His hands and small purple and white angel's wings are tied behind his back. His facial expression show discomfort at being put into such a helpless position. His hair is wavy and detailed. They don't make porcelain figures and figurines ... morelike this any more! Very good condition- no cracks. One of the cherub's hand shows signs of previous repair. The top of one of his feet is chipped as is common for these 19th century Meissen antiques. Underneath are the clear marks used between 1875 and 1900- The Meissen crossed swords in underglaze blue. First quality. Incised M 104 and small 91 impressed in the base. This auction is for a Rare Antique Chelsea Putti Figurine circa 1750. The figurine measures approximately 5 3/4 inches high. The figurine is marked on the bottom with collection stickers- it has two generations of collection stickers- the most recent collection was the MacHarg Collection and the one previous was the Ex Luccock Collection dated 28/1/43. The figurine has suffered some damage over the years- it has damage to two of the birds in the nest and a crack in part way through the nest plus some minor chips to the leaves and flowers- please see close-up photos. This very well detailed figurine of a Greek Mythological writer is holeing a pen in one hand and a putti cherub in the other. It has makrks that I am uaware of possible Dresden or Meissen era. It is mainly white with gold robes. It has a Greek key deign around the base. The figurine measures 9 1/4 inches high. The tip of the pen is missing. Other then that it's in great shape. The last mark is actually white it came out a funny color but it was a close up shot.

ANTIQUE FIVE SENSES Figurine Figural Group Putti Puttis Porcelain Meissen This is a charming piece! The only problem was trying to determine who manufactured this work of art. I did my research and apparently. Dealers are confused too! I've seen it listed under three different manufacturers. Ebay won't allow me to list the three different possibilities, but I do strongly believe it to be Meissen because of the blue crossed swords. Please look closely at the photographs and decide for yourself. I certainly welcome expert opinions too! No matter the manufacturer, everyone titles it"The Five Senses" So that aside, this porcelain figurine is in great shape for it's age. There are five putti figures, each one symbolizing one of the five senses. The top is a putti is holding a glass of wine(taste) Below are four more puttis; ... moreone is holding a bee or wasp(touch) one is holding a mirror(sight) one is holding a conch shell(sound) and one is holding a rose(smell) Definitely made by a top notch manufacturer. One tell is that each finger and toe is individually sculpted and painted. Detail only reserved for the high end market. Surprisingly, all fingers and toes are intact, no breaks, chips or repairs. The only flaw I can find is on the very top of the putti holding the wine goblet is a small chip off a leaf. It's not terribly noticeable and I've taken a photo of it(see image#8) It measured 10 1/4 inches high by 6 to 8 inches wide(6 inches for the base but some of the putti's arms or legs stick out) On the underside you can see the blue crossed swords. Soft paste Porcelain Putto representing Spring(one of the Four Seasons) with applied leaves. Florets with egg-yellow& black centers, braided hair and minimal additional enameled decoration on a plain base with very minor damage and dating from the late 1750s or 1760s(for full details, continue reading below) Welcome to a Special Sale Listing and. enjoy! ITEM DETAILS: Wonderful early English porcelain figurine of a child with braided hair carrying a basket of flowers on a simple base adorned with leaves and flower heads(symbolic of Spring in a four seasons theme) The young person is leaning against a short tree stump and wearing puce and soft blue drape around her left hip. The figurine is well painted with her brown hair finely detailed to accent her long braid formed into a circle and ending in a tight knot(see close-up photo) Her brown ... morehair is not painted with a brush but instead scratched with a fine needle to remove some coloring so that one can see both individual strands and braiding. Her face is also expertly painted with her eyebrows again painted with a single hair as a brush and painted in brown and made from placing 12 to 15 short curving brush strokes each. Her eyes have black pupils set within brown irises and each also has a small red tear duct in the corner. The girls nose has her nostrils outlined in light brown and her lips are colored blood red. Other details include small applied flowers with six pedals and bright yellow(egg yellow) centers topped with a tiny dark blackish-brown dot. Other important characteristics include two distinct shades of green on the applied leaves: a common green(translucent grassy green) and a bluish-green(weak turquoise green) Some of the iron red flowers were painted using a fine single hair brush and taking 25 to 30 individual brush strokes. The figurine is solid and not hollow-formed and so it feels heavier than others its size that are not solid. On offer is a vintage beautiful cherub/ putti double candle holder in a delicately painted bisque porcelain. It looks like Capodimonte style which of course. Means Made in Naples. It has no markings but many candleholders do not. The face is angelic and it is in mint condition. It is 5.5" wide and 6.25" tall. The candle openings are approximately 7/8 of an inch wide. Antique Cherub Figurine BASSANO ITALY Soft Paste Porcelain ITALIAN POTTERY PUTTI
This is an antique soft paste glazed porcelain Italian pottery figurine featuring two winged cherubs or putto. One is playing a lyre lute and the other has a horn or wind instrument. The piece is signed on the underside incised"CG. BASSANO" The cherubs are atop a beautifully patterned plateau with raised scrolls and dart embellishments impressed into the ceramic. They are leaning against a baluster fence. They have the finest handmade details of wavy hair, fingers and toes, feathered wings, facial features, and strategically draped ribbon sash on their bodies. The condition of this item is very good, noting that the end of the little horn was broken off but is not noticeable. I actually have had this piece on my shelf at eye-level for a little while now, and hadn't noticed the flaw until just now upon final inspection for condition ... morereport. Height 5.5" base diameter 4.25" The work is much finer than other Bassano pieces I have seen. Exact age unknown, but I would guess more than 60 years old. This would be beautiful under a glass dome. It is done in the early Bassano ceramic arts quiet French style with no color, as was fashionable for elegant and highly sophisticated interiors of 18th century Paris society. ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS. This is a small vintage Wächtersbach figurine of a putto(in German) putti or angel/cherub. It's marked Wohlfahrts-steingut in auftrag gegeben von ihrer Königlichen Hoheit der grossherzogin von Hessen und bei Rhein. That more or less means this is a piece of stoneware commissioned by her Royal Highness the Grand Duchess of Hessen and bei Rhein. The ceramic is only 4 inches(10cm) high. It has a small cherub with a bouquet of blue flowers over her shoulder. The base is a grayish color. It was designed by Ernst Riegel and dates to about 1912. No chips or cracks. It has a reticulated bowl with the Dresden flower decoration inside. The figure has beautiful hand painted detail. The roses and leaves are also quite nice. I examined it very carefully. I found two leaves around the bowl with small chipped tips. One leaf on the base with a small chipped tip to it. Two pink flowers have a small hard to see chipped petal. One on the top and one at the base. I could not see any others. So if there are, they must be very small. I am not sure of the makers mark.
