It depicts a little boy with a bowl in his lap. Spoon in his right hand, and a bib. This was hand painted on the front. The back was not painted as was the custom at the time. This comes from a Pennsylvania estate that we purchased and have more going up for auction shortly. Very nice condition. All original. It is numbered 2734 on the back. Antique Porcelain Bisque Figurine of a victorian boy dressed in period clothing. Holding a flower leaning on a fence. Late 19th century- Early 20th century. Actual date is unknown believed to be of German origin. The boy is standing on a porcelain pedestal painted to look like marble. Ornate design painted on his clothing. Bright rosy cheeks, a fence with shrubs. The detailed gold gilt is rubbed off in some places through out the statue and he could could use a bath. I did not clean him. There is a very small chip on his left shoulder and there are no cracks. The overall condition of this piece is very good especially considering his age. I took many photo's in high definition at every angle and left the photo's side way's for a larger more detailed look. He stands 16 1/4 inches Tall and is 4 1/2 inches at the base. The Girls head looks like it was glued back on(really good job done) and one thumb broken off. The boy is in perfect condition. Girls pin in hat seems to be original and spinning perfect when turned. Antique Victorian era mantel shelf spill vase and match holder of bisque porcelain. 11 1/2" tall. 5" across the base and 3" deep at the base. The back is impressed"9986 GERMANY" It is also marked with the DEP mark and a manufacturer's mark that looks like an overlay of G and I or H. This is one of those whimsical pieces that appealed to the Victorian taste- a young boy with a gathering basket looks down to the base of a ladder at an excited little dog. Except for a few accents of metallic gold, the only painted portion is the boy and his basket, the ladder and dog are unpainted matte white. There is a narrow opening on the back of the ladder that could hold spills and the basket would be an ideal place for matches- they would look like gathered wood ... moreand could probably be struck against the textured exterior of the basket. At some point in time, the basket was broken off of the piece and has been glued back in place. From the front side, it looks in perfect condition and is only noticeable if you know where to look. From the back, you will notice the broken line of separation on the boy's back and at the top corner of the basket. The old Rudolstadt makers mark consisting of a blue"R" inside a diamond is present on both pieces. The additional markings on the underside of the boy is"No. 10" and"393" impressed in the porcelain. And a handpainted"23" The girl has an impressed"393" on the front and a"No. 10" on the bottom. The bisque porcelain pair have matching bases. Some of the wonderful handpainted details are accented with gold or have some dimension to the dots on the girl's apron and boy's scarf. I will be adding more figurines so please check back. This is a hand painted bisque porcelain figure of a Victorian boy holding 3 puppies with their mother at his feet. He has curly blonde hair and blue eyes. There are raised gold dots on his clothes and the front of base. And his shoes and the dog's tag are gold. There is wear to the gold due to age. A Beautiful Pair of Large Antique Royal Rudolstadt Victorian Bisque Figurines! T his pair of antique Royal Rudolstadt figurines is very special and rare. They are beautifully dressed in Victorian type attire and seem to be leaning next to a fence. Possibly near water. These were made by RW Rudolstadt in Germany sometime between 1904 and 1924. Per the mark on the bottom of the base. The base bears the RW inside a crown with"Germany" above and"Rudolstadt" below the crown. Both figurines are imprinted with a"21" above a"455" as well as a written"38. Both figurines are made of bisque ceramic pottery and are very large- the girl stands a 15.5"h and the boy is 15"h! Each base is approximately 6.5"w. Both pieces are hand-painted and accented with gold gilding. The girl figurine is in great ... morecondition. There is some minor loss to parts of the gold gilding and a speck of paint missing on the base; however, the boy needs a bit of repair done. The boy figurine is missing the tip of his pointer finger and on his other arm, his wrist is still attached well, but there is a crack along the wrist(please see photos) However, both of these parts could be repaired. The boy also has slight loss to gold gilding as well, due to age. This is a gorgeous figurine of a little boy and girl courting figurine. She is wearing a long bright pink dress and he has on a dark green overcoat. They both have porcelain lace ruffles with gold gilt highlights trimming their clothing. There is a huge basket of porcelain flowers in front of them.
