SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Height: 145 millimeters(5 3/4 inches) Breadth: 79 millimeters(3 1/8 inches) Thickness: 80 millimeters(3 1/4 inches) CONDITION: Very good. No repairs but the majority of glaze is gone. A little wear and a few blemishes consistent with any decorative item which was buried for over one thousand years. CONDITION: Very good. Minor porcelain chips. There are minor chips in the porcelain glaze at the rider’s right front shoulder; to the rider’s waist, behind, center; to the back side of the horse’s right leg; at the edge of the horse’s stomach, right side, center; and at the rider’s left elbow. There is as well a scattering of minute porcelain chips throughout, and the top of the horse’s right ear is also chipped. Other than cleaning, there has been no restoration work. It looks in incredibly good condition for the medium. Please see images. Notes: This figurine came from the collection of a wonderful man in his 90’s who retired down here from New Jersey. I got a lot of nice quality paintings from him which I think are all sold. ... moreThis figurine has been sitting on my mantle since we bought it. I don’t really know anything about these. But this looks like a good one to me. Just look at the quality. The detail in the elements: his facial features; his delicate fingers; his ruffled collar; the perfect little silver buttons on his decorative pajamas. The hand painting is very fine on the pajamas and I can see this man is quietly richly dressed for bed in an Ermine trimmed lavender robe. Lined in blue, silk no doubt! His pajamas also have lavender behind the legs. A subtle detail, and his slippers are lavender. The more I study him. The more I realize what a fashion plate he is! He is set off on a dark blue circular base trimmed with two raised rings of white“jeweled” dots. As I said. I don’t know anything about these, I am guessing he is German or Austrian and nineteenth century but that is just a guess. If anyone recognizes this. Any info would be welcome. A stunning early 20th century larger piece of Royal Dux. The horse and rider convey beautifully a sense of movement and fluidity with elegant modern lines. This piece measures 11" in length and 14" at highest point. It is fully marked with the distinctive Pink Lozenge and blue stamp. There are two round and smooth marks underneath the upper chest of the horse possibly from the manufacturing process. Only visible when the statue is turned upside down. please view last pics. SIZE/MEASUREMENTS: Length: 182 millimeters(7 1/4 inches) Height: 204 millimeters(8 1/8 inches) Breadth Depth/Thickness) 98 millimeters(3 7/8 inch) CONDITION: Exceptionally good. Almost perfectly preserved. A little wear consistent with any household item which is 150 or 200 years old. Mild crazing as is common to antique porcelain. One tiny chip beneath one of the pagoda roof eaves. Not flawless, but certainly in an excellent state of preservation. DETAIL: ... moreIt is a piece wonderfully characteristic of late Ming/early Qing Dynasty artwork. A depiction of a fish(seemingly of the carp family) jumping from the water, with a pagoda tower in the background. The glaze is entirely intact, a very handsome green color which seems to be an imitation of the famous“Celadon Green” porcelain of centuries past. The condition of the statuette is extraordinary. The only blemishes are in the form of a tiny chip to the underside of one of the pagoda eaves(you have to turn the statuette upside down to discern it) and a bit of soiling within some of the crevasses. It seems possible that the statuette may have been buried at some point in time. It could be washed clean of soil residue if it was soaked, but we thought it best just to leave it as it is. There is of course a little minor wear– we’re not saying it is as when new. But this is as good as one can reasonably expect of a porcelain statuette somewhere roughly a century old. It’s not perfect. But it is about as close to perfect as you will ordinarily find of an authentic antique Qing Dynasty porcelain statuette like this, and there are no repairs. Antique Victorian ca. 1890 Porcelain Bisque Angel with Muff Figurine Statuette
Offering this spectacular blue eyed beauty. An original late Victorian ca. 1890's bisque statuette depicting an angel securing her hands in a muff as she perches against a tree stump. Remarkably detailed indeed, this striking figurine exemplifies the grandeur of 19th century style and art. With golden hair and pale pink dress accenting her curves, angel's details are characterized by the soft, pastel color palate. This is a rather rare piece, most likely of German or European origination, although does not contain hallmark of manufacturer. Despite minor flaw(please refer to condition description) piece is in fine grade and still is an extraordinary collectible piece. Statuette stands just shy of 10" inches.
