In a 3-floor brownstone just filled with antique and vintage pottery, porcelain, and glass pieces from all over the world, we have for auction a Pair of Antique Porcelain Busts of a Boy and Girl, made by Nymphenburg Porcelain. The 9 ½" and 10" tall figures are in good condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Both pieces, created by Franz Anton Bustelli, are exceptionally detailed in the signature style of the artist. The Nymphenburg name and logo are clearly marked on the bottom. This is a very old and beautiful piece that would make stunning statement in any room or a welcome addition to any collection. Nymphenburg Bustelli/Ponhauser Cavalier& Lady. Anton Bustelli. The renowned Rocco sculptor, assisted the chief modeller, Ponhauser in creating, in porcelain, the Electoral Pleasure Gardens to adorn the wedding tabletop in 1755 of the Margrave of Baden. The listing is for one of the many pieces of that grouping. Very rare. These double, joined figures in Blanc de Chine porcelain are in perfect condition. Blanc de Chine Nymphenburg Commedia dell'Arte Mezzetino Figurine Bustelli 1890s
For your consideration. A gorgeous blanc de chine porcelain figurine designed by Rococo master Franz Anton Bustelli for Nymphenburg, circa late 1800s to 1910 Germany. The figurine is Mezzetino, one of the 16 Commedia dell'Arte figurines originally designed by Bustelli for Nymphenburg in 1760. Nymphenburg figurines are some of the finest in the world and are still in production today(even a Mezzetino designed by Vivienne Westwood) The marks on this figurine date it prior to trade laws in the 1920s that required the country name be placed on any imported items to the US. The base of the figurine has the model number and Nymphenburg shield mark. The shield mark is also seen on the side of the figurine, see pictures 4 and 5. The figurine is in decent vintage condition with the only breakage being the end of Mezzetino's club, as seen in ... morepicture 3, which is common for this figurine especially given its age. There are also a few very tiny dark spots on the porcelain's surface. Measures 6.5 inches in height. Overall condition is reflected in the price. Spring, Summer, Fall) each on a Pedestal base and designed by Franz Anton Bustelli. The figurines which stand 7 inches tall, depicts the four seasons. Swiss-born German modeler Franz Anton Bustelli(1723- 1763) designed this sculpture for Nymphenburg in c. 1755. He worked for Nymphenburg since 1754 until his depth. No one has had such an effect on the artistic direction of Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg as Bustelli. He is widely regarded as the finest modeller of porcelain in the Rococo style. During his nine years at Nymphenburg he designed about 150 models. His most outstanding figures and services are still in production today. The most famous are Chinoiserie and Commedia dell’Arte. His first figures for Nymphenburg were small classical gods and Putti. Putto As Bacchus is from this first series. This lovely Figurine of a Running Putti measures about 4.25" and is in excellent condition. The figurine was produced by and clearly marked for Nymphenburg Germany. The sculptor of the original figure was Franz Anton Bustelli. He was employed at the Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg in 1754 as a figure-maker. This is a beautifully detailed hand painted porcelain figure which represents one of the Commedia dell'Arte characters. It is marked on the base"69" with the Nymphenburg shield mark. The figure measures approx. 6 7/8" tall and is in excellent condition with two exceptions- there is a small chip under her foot and her extended index finger is broken.
