The markings on the bottom I will describe the best I can. If you are a collector you will know more than I what they mean. IMPRINTED it says GERMANY and then there is a V shape with a small circle at one end and a large u or possibly what is not complete a large circle at the other end of the V shape. In the brown paint there is an H shape as well. I am not sure other than its origin being Germany what the rest means.I am starting the bid low. Small Platter with 3 Different Markings: R. S. Prussia & Germany and One Other
I have been selling off some of my collections since it is just time. I have collected for over 50 years but it is time to pass along most of them for others to enjoy. This listing is for a small platter measuring 11"in length X 7 1/2" in width. It has two holes in each end where the Platter turns up and that part becomes handles. The pattern is purple violets with green bows and lots and lots of gold. There is no wear at all on this piece. The odd thing about this piece would be the markings. First of all it has the R. S. Prussia mark and directly underneath it is another marking that gives the company name of Reinhold Schlegelmilch Tillonity and underneath that it says Germany. Way off to the side is another marking which also says Germany but it is stamped into it. Vintage RARE Celluloid KEWPIE doll Made in Germany. Along with the KEWPIE made in Germany sticker on the front on the back is a Design Patented sticker and appears to be a signature/initials below that sticker. Also embossed on back Rheinische Gummi und Celluloid Fabrik Co. signature turtle mark. Early celluloid KEWPIE dolls were made 1916- 1930. I believe this may be one of the earliest as Made in Germany. One of my photo depicts what is embossed on the back of the KEWPIE doll if you're not able to clearly see it in the photos. This little girl is 4 1/2" tall. The gentleman has a long green jacket and the lady has a full ruffled dress trimmed in the same green. The markings on the bottom are in blue(pictured) and I believe they are from Kronach but not sure since I am not an expert on porcelain figures. I believe the number on the bottom is 19243(see pictures) Excellent condition. There is one very tiny chip on the base(in the back) of the man. You can see it in the pictures if you look closely. 104-key Concertina F Lange Uhlig Markings Made in Germany Chemnitz Saxony & Case
Beautiful green Concertina made in Germany by F. Lange. Chemnitz, in Saxony that also shows the U for Uhlig on the face plate. I looked everywhere to figure out what the symbol between the L and the U is on the bass end. But to me it resembles a Latin symbol upside down. Based on website investigating I learned some very interesting history of the concertina to figure a range of dates in which this treasure was made, who knows, the possibility may exist that it was made by Otto Schlicht with reeds made by John Friedl and this is worth a fortune to someone. A fact I did learn, however, is the meaning of chemnitzer referring to the 52 button lay-out and that this is also referred to as a 104-key layout with the"0" keys to the right of the"4" keys unique to the concertinas built in Chemnitz, Germany. I may be way off on all ... morethis information and I am definitely not an expert on these instruments(but wish I still had my grandfather's) so forgive my over-valuation if that is the case. This one belonged to a friend of mine gifted to her in a will so we are hoping someone will bring it back to life and enjoy it. It is important to note: This instrument shows its age and you can tell the previous owner loved to play it based on the wear here an there. Look at the pictures closely. The laminate or veneer is pulling up in places(around keys and the edges due to being in storage for the last half of a century! I hesitate to give an age to this, but it has features earlier than 1930 yet later than 1910 but I will not be the one to look inside for proof of that. The case has an old stamp from 1934 in the bottom. I will leave the detailed inspection and the cleaning up to the experts and concertina lovers(which I thank by the way because as a little girl I did not appreciate my grandfather's concertina playing like I should have) The original case is also part of the sale and has the original key and still has a very sturdy handle. Vintage Made in Germany H&H 8105 markings on the back Platter with handles. The platter measures 11 3/4" handle to handle and is 1 1/2" deep. The platter is not completely flat. It slopes down into a slight bowl type. I love the floral design enhanced by a design of a home in the center of the bowl surrounded by a floral pattern.
