Great condition. No restoration or damage. Sadko( Russian: Садко) is a Russian medieval epic. The title character is an adventurer. Merchant and gusli musician from Novgorod. Sadko played the gusli on the shores of a lake. The Sea Tsar enjoyed his music. And offered to help him. Sadko was instructed to make a bet with the local merchants about catching a certain fish in the lake; when he caught it(as provided by the Tsar) the merchants had to pay the wager, making Sadko a rich merchant. Sadko traded on the seas with his new wealth, but did not pay proper respects to the Tsar as per their agreement. The Tsar stopped Sadko's ships in the sea. Kiev Art Factory Porcelain Post 1940 Ukrainian Boy and Girl Dancer Figurine set
The Ukrainian boy and girl porcelain figurine set are from the USSR. Research shows these were produced at the Kiev Experimental Ceramic Art Factory in the town of Cherry Kiev region. Which opened in 1924. After World War II, the factory added to the lithographic area to produce high quality porcelain samples for other plants in the Ukraine. In July 1993, an open joint stock company- OAO"Deff" took over, and in 1999, the plant became known as"Kiev porcelain" Since 2006, the plant ceased all production of products. The figurines are beautifully rendered, and in great condition. These make an excellent gift, and a perfect item for collectors. Each figure is about 4 1/2" tall, Each is separately posed. Both in glossy, white porcelain, hollow inside. The figurines are from the comic opera by Gulak-Artemovsky titled"Zaporozhets Za Dunayem" or the Cossacks in Exile. The housewife is Odarka. She is 10" H and is angry at her spouse, a drunk womanizing man named Ivan Karas, he is 9 1/2" H. This remarkable pair were purchased in 1995 while touring Moscow. They are in excellent preowned condition. No chips, cracks or crazing. The hand applied gold embellishments are perfect.
