Vintage Germany Porcelain Bisque Piano Baby Figurine Doll from estate LR? Crown?
I recently purchased this beautiful. Bisque/porcelain piano baby at an estate. I uploaded 9 pictures hoping you can tell more about it and the condition. I am not sure of the exact age or the maker. I took a close up picture of the imprinting on the back, bottom side and on the bottom. There's some numbers that are difficult to make out on the back side near the bottom and then'Germany' going across. On the bottom looks to be a crown with the initials'LR' It looks to be in good displayable condition. I do not see any chips, nicks or cracks. I did notice, and I think it was in the making, at the top of one of its arms, there's a little place and not even sure how to describe. It's where the skin color is suppose to be to the edge of the arm sleeve but it has a spotting or place where it looks like some of it was ... moreleft off in the making? again.not sure how to describe. I tried to get a close-up of it so hopefully you can see what I am referring to. It measures approximately 5 3/4 inches tall. And from the front of its feet to the back, it measures approximately 4 1/2 inches. It is some dusty, etc. I haven't tried to clean. I am selling just the way I purchased. This auction is for a vintage Hummel figurine titled Farm Boy. The figurine is 5.75 inches tall and 3.25 inches in diameter. Beautiful condition and looks great to me! On the bottom the Hummel is marked 66 77 and is marked Germany with the full crown/bee in blue. See picture) The original owners were my grandparents. ABOUT HUMMELS HISTORY: Hummels were based on the artistic talent of an artist. Who was born Berta Hummel. In adulthood, Berta Hummel joined a Franciscan convent and became Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel. At the ... moreconvent. She became an art teacher who often painted portraits of children. Many of her portraits and drawings were melancholy, reflecting the stress of the times in which she lived. In 1934, some of her drawings were published on art cards and in an art book and blended with poems written by Margaret Seeman to match the pictures. The book, Das Hummel Buch was an immediate success(in English, The Hummelbook) The Convent also allowed Hummel art cards on a variety of subjects to be published and distributed throughout Europe. Thanks to the efforts of a Munich-based publisher. Franz Goebel. Founder of the Goebel Company that produced porcelain figurines, saw the drawings of Sister Maria and, with much effort, persuaded her to allow her two-dimensional drawings to become three-dimensional statues. Description: This auction is for an antique blanc de chine porcelain figurine of a pointing hound dog. The figurine is marked on the bottom in underglazed blue. But the mark is very faint. I believe that it could possibly be Crown Dresden Germany(Wolfsohn) because I can see(with loupe) the three points of a crown, what could be a D under it. There are two lines of letters under that mark, which could be Dresden Germany or Made In Germany. There is also an impressed number of 257. Again, it could be something else, but that is the closest I have come up with, that should date it to 1900 if I am correct. There is a hole on his belly, the figurine weighs approximately 10.6 oz. The figurine measures approximately 3 1/2 inches tall, 6 7/8 inches by 2 inches wide. The figurine is in good condition; no repairs. There are some in the making or firing ... moreissues. There is grit on the bottom of the base rim& some on the top of the base. A rough spot on the right side of his nose, a pitting type spot below his left eye(looks like a chip) a fire crack on the top of his right paw. There is also some scratching around the base, a few other small pitting areas. It is also possible that this could be signed, as it looks like letters on the base behind his back left foot. Vintage Crown D Original Small Porcelain Sitting Lady Figurine Made in Germany. This ornate figurine measures approx. 2 3/4 inches tall. 3 1/4 inches wide, and 2 3/4 inches deep. The chair measures approx. 2 inches tall. And 1 inch wide. This figurine is beautifully dressed in a accordion pleated white open weave lace with pale blue open weave lace on th e edges. There are two layers in the dress. She also has the same light blue open weave lace as a collar. She is wearing a small light purple hat. And her brown hair is fashioned in long curls hanging to her neck on either side of her face and down her neck in the back. She has a beautifully painted face with light violet eyes. Arched eyebrow, and a heart shaped mouth. Between the bodice and skirt is a small pink flower with a green leaf. The dress is short sleeved and she has one hand smoothing ... morethe skirt. Her hands ha ve open fingers. The second hand is reaching up towards her head as if to smooth her hair or fix her hat. She is sitting on a white porcelain chair that is decorated with a gold tone design. Only the back and two legs of the chair are visible. This auction is for a old/antique Dresden-type figurine grouping. It has 2 young women sitting in a field? with a lamb beside them. The piece is well marked on the bottom with Germany and crown. Etc. and#8343. I do not know the name of the company that made it. The figurine is about 8" long at base, 7 1/4" tall, and about 5" deep. There IS damage to the lace on the gowns-both on the skirts front and back and also on cuffs. The flowers also have some damage. The story goes as my Great Great Grandfather moved the family from East to West Germany in the late 40's this item was very carefully hand carried. With that in mind I believe it to have been made prior to 1940. Also because of the colors used, and was made in East Germany as that was where the family lived prior to West Germany. It was in my grandmother curio for more than 65 years. This is Marked with Crown over uppercase G W And next Z. K. V. 706. My grandmother says that it is W. Goebel of Rodental, Bavaria, Germany, and she remember, this has been in the family since she was a child. This could be earlier than 1925, but my grandmother is very elderly and his memory may fail. It is from WW2 and very good white porcelain. Lovely scrolling design on the base. German WWII items were destroyed at a great scale after the war by all participating countries and this eagle with this symbol in the middle dates this in this period. hard to find pieces from this time period. This is a very nice antique porcelain figurine of a boy with bagpipe& lambs. He measures about 4 1/2” tall x 1 5/8” across the bottom of his base. He has the Sitzendorf mark on the bottom~blue crown with stylized“S” Apon researching this mark. It states this was used on pieces from 1800 to 1849. I could find no cracks, chips or reglues~overall he looks to be mint. Bottom also has the embossed number“19” I know nothing more about this cute little piece, but he is Estate fresh!
