This is a very delicate figurine. Look at the photos. There is lace that has broken off on this piece. I did not notice it just looking at it but with a careful look and with a magnifying glass you can see it. The porcelain does not have any damage. Facing her on the left top side of her dress, some of the white lace has broken off. On the right side first row bottom a piece of white lace is off also. Just below that some pink lace is broken off. Right bottom side pink and white has broken off. Back rear right bottom some has broken off there. It is 8" high, 5.5" deep and 7" wide. The Figurine is of a lady sitting and playing the piano while another lady and gentlemen dance beside of her. On the bottom it says Germany. And has a crown with an S underneath it, which is from Sitzendorf Germany. I'm pretty sure that these have been faked before but I am certain that this is the real deal. It was brought back from Germany with my family. The figurines are dressed in very high end clothing, European clearly. Exquisite artwork, truly. As I said previously the arm of the woman dancing has been broken off but is with the figurine still, it could very easily be repaired. I think the most important thing is that these are not going to come up for auction very often and the piece being broken is such a small part of the artwork that it can be looked past. I would have put the arm back on myself but I didn't want there ... moreto be any mistake in the description or the representation. This is a very rare, very beautiful and big statue by Dresden in Sitzendorf Germany pre 1940. It is 8 inches by 4 inches by 7 inches tall. I could not find another figurine exactly like this one anywhere online, I'm not saying they aren't out there, but very hard to find and who knows when another will come available. It amazes me that someone can make the kind of detail that is in the lace on these dresses out of porcelain, how gifted. Everything but the arm looks great still, you will love this piece.

Frankenthal Porzellanfabrik Handmade Dresden Art "Chess Players"
I found this online by an appraiser: Your beautiful"chess players" figural group was made by Frankenthal Porzellanfabrik a German company based in the Rhineland Palatinate region. They used this mark. A stylized crown over the word Frankenthal, from 1951 to 1964. The text in red reads: Handgemalt(hand made) and Dresden Art and Made in Germany. It could not have been much earlier because this company only came into being in 1949. And it was sadly short-lived. The founder was Friedrich Wilhelm Wessel and its main output were a limited number of tablewares and these wonderful lace figurines. The factory closed for good in 1964. Yours is beautifully modeled and hand painted and would be much prized by collectors of these"Dresden lace" lace figures as they are called. The lace trim is actually made from real fabric. A lovely Dresden lace dancer. That's just over 6 inches in height. Her facial details, and gilt strap bodice are beautiful. Her applied lace has suffered many casualties. Mostly to the bottom layer, but also 2 areas above the bottom row. Her right hand has 2 fingertips missing as well. Her applied florals have faired far better than her lace. This is a stunning large hand painted porcelain figure of a beautiful sexy harem dancer created in the 1920s by the Scheirholz factory. She stands at 14 inches tall by 8 inches wide and displays beautifully. Overall in very good condition with the exception to having two broken fingers and half of her bangle bracelet broken. Some tiny nicks to the leaves in the rose in her hair and some wear to the gold gilt on her costume. She is signed on the back by the artist which is impressed into the back of the base. It is hard for me to make out but starts with a G. then I think Goss and the rest I cannot read. She is a truly rare find. She is wearing a beautiful floral print dress and her arms are raised and resting behind her head Approximately 3 1/2 inches tall and 2 1/4 inches wide at widest point. Marked on bottom with the blue Dressel Kister stamp. And there are numbers incised in the porcelain, they are hard to read but I think it says 5599. She is in excellent condition with just a hairline crack to the bottom of the base and someone put glue across the crack for some reason. But the integrity of the piece is not affected by the crack. Volkstedt Dresden Women Dress Figure Art Figurine German Porcelain Lady Display
Presented here for your bidding consideration is this lovely antique marked Volkstedt Dresden lace figurine depicting a beautiful woman wearing a delicate crinoline dress strewn with flowers! The lady is posed ever so gracefully upon a green settee. Her slender limbs extended to arrange the frothy layers of her ethereal gown. Tiny porcelain flowers are artfully arranged on her skirt, bodice, and in her hair. Note the details in the painting of her expressive facial features, and the fine brushstrokes in her hair to define every curl and wave. The figurine comes in a desirable size for display purposes-roughly 6 3/4"wide by 5 1/4" tall and 4 1/2" deep. The piece is clearly marked on the bottom with the Volkstedt mark that I believe was used from 1900 to 1936, a stamped number 42 as pictured. These draped lace figurines are astonishing ... morein their delicacy. And is often the case, there are some losses to the fragile material. Fortunately, this example has held up quite well. All through the three layers of ruffles at the hemline there are tiny, mostly inconsequential chips. Near her knee the lace is chipped just a bit. On the right hand side near the chair leg the pink ruffle is chipped, along with a bit of the white layer. The lace of the bodice does not seem to be affected at all. The flowers are all pretty wonderful. Still, a very lovely piece to behold! If you have any questions please ask. This is almost perfect a beautiful piece.
