Art Deco Ceramic Studio Lidded Box with Fish Handle on Top and Glazed Finish
Vintage ceramic cylindrical box with lid and top decoration of a fish. This box is 5-1/2 inches in overall height and 2-3/4 inches in diameter. The bottom interior is fully glazed as is the outside and the top is glazed only on the visible exterior. This box holds one full pack of cigarettes and may have been intended originally for this purpose. The mark of the ceramic studio is impressed on the base of the bottom.Riester Ceramics" and was probably crafted sometime during the 20s to the 40s. The bottom glaze is slightly more blue than the top. Which is more green.but definitely not a marriage to my belief. There are no chips or cracks to the body of the piece only some minor wear to the perimeter of the base.

There is a small nick on the plate with the man and I’ve pointed this area out in the photo. There is crazing from age on both pieces. Both pieces are marked with the Studio name on the back. It’s incised and very difficult to figure out. I had to use a magnifying glass. The plates are approx. 9 ½” long and approx. 8 ¾” wide at the widest section.

PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION& SEE PHOTOS AT BOTTOM OF LISTING Up for auction is a set of 3 Williraye Studios 8" plates. Marked 1999 Coyne's& Company. Hand wash only. The plates are 8" wide. These plates are being sold as used. I found a few fine scratches on the plates. Which can be seen when tilted to a light. The plate with the watermelon has the most with one longer& slightly wider scratch on the center of the apron- you can see just a dot of this on the large photo- and also on and below her foot are more scratches- which I noticed on the supersized photo. Sorry all fine scratches do not show, but these are the worst ones. The plate with watermelon also has a wavy pattern on the back- factory made& shown on photo. Even with the scratches. These are in very nice condition overall& have a"made in China" ... moresticker on the back. I'm not sure if these were used or the scratches were from being displayed. Either way, they are a hard to find item with lots of life left, but If you want perfect ones, these are not the ones for you. Sorry. I do not have the 4th plate in the set. This is an impressive set that measures about 2 feet long displayed and is in very nice condition with NO chips or losses. Just repair to one deer antler and one to Santa arm that are nicely restored. The detail is wonderful from the S.C. and decorations on the sleigh, to Santa himself, to the red harnesses on the deer. Separately, the reindeer each measure 8.5" tall by 7" long, the sleigh measures 9.5" long by 5.5" wide, and Santa measures 7A" tall by 6" wide and he is made to sit in the sleigh with one leg raised as if he is about to get out. Here is a small hand crafted. Studio, or amateur art pottery vase with unusual glaze coloring with a speckled tricolor appearance. Looks like a blue, a blue-green color, and grayish color overlapping each other, sort of a drip glaze affect. The base or bottom looks like a sand colored stoneware. No makers mark found. Measures about 3 1/4" tall x about 2 1/4" across widest part,with 1 3/8" across the top and about 1 5/8" across the base. Great condition overall, with no breaks, chips, or cracks.
