Vintage German Porcelain Girl Feeding Birds Carl Scheidig Art Deco
This is a fantastic vintage piece of German porcelain. The mark on the bottom is a blue crown over an S which means this piece was done by Carl Scheidig in Grafenthal. A company founded in 1906. It is a girl with a bird on her shoulder and feeding another bird with a dish. It is 3 1/2" wide and 5 3/4" tall to the top of the girl's head. I see no damage, she is lovely and has an art deco look to her. Thanks for looking and have a blessed day.

Beautiful Antique Carl Scheidig Germany Porcelain Boy Feeding Deer Figurine
This is a wonderful antique porcelain figurine of a boy feeding deer by Carl Scheidig. The mark on the bottom was used between 1935- 1972 for Porzellanfabrik. Carl Scheidig K.G. thuringia/graefenthal. It is a lovely nude boy hand feeding two young deer. The deer are glazed in a brown with delicate spots on their backs and the rest of the figure is glazed clear over the porcelain. This figurine is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. This is a very intricate. Beautiful figurine. Each detail is very well defined. The figurine is 7" tall at the highest point and 5.25" by 3" wide at the base. History Successful businessman. Carl Scheidig, founded the a new factory around Grafenthal in 1906. The whole area in and around here offered everything needed. Soon designers and specialists from other companies were attracted to the freedom of ideas and designs offered and joined his company. The factory employed 160 people in 1913. Now. Backed by the full order books, the company specialized figurines and group settings, resulting in a complete assortment of fabulous items which he brgan to sell worldwide. In 1972. Saw the largest numbers of company nationalizations in the history of the G.D.R. with one of these facilities of course being the Porzellanfabrik Carl Scheidig which had until then still been a private company even if it was under state supervision. My research dates this item to between 1906 and 1935, due to this mark. Second hand treasure condition.free of breaks, cracks, or mends. I will note that there are two imperfections that may have been there since the figurine was made: the top of the head has a rough place in the finish and there is a'chip' in the base, ... moreat the back of the figurine, beneath the ducks tail.
