mid 19th Century Royal Vienna A Boy, A Girl, A Goat and some Grapes
This is a lovely piece of Austrian porcelain and it is pretty near perfect. One of the lace bows is missing about a 10th of an inch on the first photo. That is it. All of the grapes. The leaves, and the fingers are present and accounted for. The painting is excellent-this was a top of the line piece when created. And I have seen later reproductions-they do not have the charm and skill this one has. it is amazing. It is 6.5 inches tall. LOOK AT THE PHOTOS caref ully. If you like 18th century and early 19th century English pearlware and soft paste porcelain. Dating to the late 1800s. The figurine is beautifully hand painted with bright and eye-catching color, very detailed. The boy has curly hair, rosy cheeks, and bright blue eyes. In one hand he has a hobo-style bindle, with a cloth tied around a stick, and in the other hand he's carrying a grape vine with leaves and grape clusters. This piece is in good condition. There are some minor losses to some of the grape leaves and the vine on which they're growing. The lower portion of the stick of the boy's bindle is missing. Where it comes out of his hand. Aside from these losses, there are no breaks and there are ... moreno repairs or restorations. The underside of the figure is signed with the Meissen crossed swords mark in underglaze blue.
