Adorable Victorian German Porcelain Conta Boehme Fairing Piano Baby Dog Figurine
This is a wonderful early Victorian fairing created by the Conta& Boehme factory of Germany. It is captioned"The Spoils of War" and shows a little baby crying with a puppy who just took her dolly! It measures 5 inches across by 3 1/4 inches high and displays nicely however part of the fence is broken in the back and either the little part in the dog's mouth is broken or it was created this way. Marked with the C&B shield mark and impressed numbers. Wonderful fairing in blue and white! Antique Conta & Boehme Porcelain Fairing The Last In Bed To Put Out the Light
Up for bid and just in time for Valentine's Day. This delightful antique porcelain fairing depicting a couple getting into bed. It reads, The last in bed to put out the light" Though I'm not an expert, I'm guessing this is by Conta& Boehme. It stands approx. over 2 3/4 inches tall, about 3 inches long and about 2.25 across. It does have some condition issues. There is a chip on the front top center, some chips on very bottom base of back of piece, on man's top of leg, crack line mark, you can feel it but it doesn't affect piece. Perhaps it just where surface porcelain came off, I don't know. At the bottom of the bed there is something like a table on the other side. Gorgeous Boy and Girl Figurines by Conta Boehme of Germany. Circa 1840 They both are dressed in white and pink clothing with floral accents. Conta Boehme shield mark to base and what looks like the numbers 1441 on each and a 0. They are in excellent condition the only thing I can see is a firing crack to the left side of her dress. Quite heavy and great quality pieces. Approximately 6 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide at the base. They could also use a good cleaning. I will leave that to their new owner. Made in Germany during the mid-to-late 19th century, most likely by Conta& Boehme. There is an impressed number"2851" on the underside with a couple of other number markings. The base measures approximately 3 x 3.5 inches(7 x 8.5 cm) Stands at almost 3.5 inches(8.5 cm) tall. The weight is nice and heavy at about 12.4 ounces. Although this is a very common fairing, this is a very good, old example. Good Antique Condition: No chips or cracks. The candle is intact on this piece(these were very often deliberately broken off during the Victorian period) But I am not sure if it has had a repair or not. It has the Conte& Boehme mark and is impressed 1887. The fairing measures 3.75" high and 3.25" long. There are no chips or cracks. But there is some fading of the paint. The bulldogs are so cute! 19th C. Antque Porcelain Fairing Conta Boehme Last In Bed To Put Out The Light
This antique porcelain fairing is most likely from the victorian era in which they were prizes given at fairs. This is most likely from between 1800- 1849 due to the 4 didgit# located on the base and no shield and dagger mark. It is at least likely during the 19th century. The fairing is very good condition. Most of the detail is still there but there is some wear. There is no visible damage. The caption is"The last in bed to put out the light" The#s on the base is 2851 and#57 aswell as a written 134. It measures 3" high by 3 1/4" long and 2" wide. I have taken photos of several sides and angles. Please view them as they often speak for themselves. Antique Porcelain Fairing Conta Boehme The Last In Bed To Put Out The Light Rare
Antique 1840's Victorian fairing figurine is 3 1/4" long x 2" wide x 3 1/8" tall. This figurine features the couple with light colored hair which doesnt seem as common as the dark hair couple. There is a note taped to the base where someone had indicated this is a rare size but Im not an expert and cannot validate that statement. I kept the note because of the written by what looks like the handwriting of an elderly person"To Martin. I cant make out the rest of the words but thought it was sweet. There are surface chips under the base so I took a couple photo's for review. Figurine bears the shield and dagger impression along with the mold mark 2851. Antique / Vintage Staffordshire or Conta & Boehme Fairing Box Child w/ Dog Fig.
Up for auction is an adorable little antique Staffordshire or Conta Boehme fairing box figurine. It's marked 218 on the bottom and 237 on the inside lid. But no name. I purchased it at an auction with many Staffordshire figurines- it was called out as a Staffordshire, but I can't verify it. The German manufacturers usually mark with numbers so that may be a clue. I'm leaving it up to the buyer. Either way, its a sweet little fairing box. It measures about 3" tall x 3" wide x 1 3/4' deep. I don't find any chips or nicks, but there is a little hairline in the porcelain on one side.
