Up for auction is a beautiful Augarten Wien Lipizzan Spanish Riding School Horse porcelain figurine/ statue! This fabulous horse was created by Augarten of Austria(also known as the Vienna Porcelain Factory)The cobalt blue bindenshield mark. Underglaze, appears on bottom. This figure was sculpted by Karin Jarl-Sakellarios, JARL. S is imprinted on the base of the statue. Made in Austria H is also impressed on the bottom of the statue. The horse is not painted and is titled"Levade Ohne Reiter Weiss" The pure white porcelain of Augarten is like no other in the world. The horses right ear has a small chip on it that is difficult to see and there is a yellow/gold mark on the base. Overall this statue is in excellent condition and is simply stunning. This piece is titled Courbette and was created by Albin Dobrich for the Vienna Porcelain Manufactory. Augarten. The Courbette is what is known as the school jump. It is one of a series of Spanish Riding School figurines depicting the movements of classical dressage. The horse jumps even distances in the levade position with out touching the ground with its forelegs, which remain raised. The rider is wearing his parade uniform, which includes a red tailcoat with golden epaulettes and borders.
