Made in Germany sometime between 1850 and 1899. The body is hand painted with a Dresden Pattern. There is a large polychrome floral spray on one side and a small sprig on the other. The pieces stand 6-1/2" high with a width of 5" the diameter of the base is 3-1/2" The base is marked with the Blue Crossed Swords. Both vases are in very good pre-owned condition, there is some usage wearing on the edges of each base, light handling wear to the gilt rim edging in various spots and a very small chip on the bottom edge just beneath the gilt rim. Also note that the inside bottom of each piece shows quite a bit of dirt from usage and there is a small gray spot on the inside of the flare in one vase(it might be a natural imperfection in the glazing. This is an antique porcelain dog from the 1800's. I had a deal appraise it and they said the colar on the dog is 22kt gold leaf(I have not had this tested) and appraised it at$150-$200 as is. This is an amazingly RARE old vintage example of a hand painted high quality flocked porcelain Monkey figurine from the latter half of the 1800's. Unmarked but I am sure it is European. To my knowledge Japan did not do this sort of technique this early. The brown flocking gives the porcelain a sort of textured feel& it still remains mostly intact which is very unusual. As the flocking from the 1800's pieces(when found) are usually completely worn off. The brown is worn thin in some areas with some white showing through but for a piece of this age& rarity it still looks good& is quite acceptable. A masonry well rises from an applied spaghetti grassy base. A brink column supports a brace of Dogwood branches. A pulley hangs from the top. Birds. A Lilly pond, Dogwood flowers and bucket adorn the well brace. Information found on the Majolica International Society notes that there seem to be many variations and examples indicating that the modelers had some latitude in assembling these pieces. And reference production date to be 1870 to 1880s. Extremely detailed piece that displays beautifully. Overall condition it very good- there's very small edge chips on two Dogwood petals(pictured) ... morea pinsize nik on the top birds beak. ANTIQUE FRENCH PORCELAIN STATUES 1800'S 6394 ENGAGEMENT RING MAN AND WOMAN
BEAUTIFUL French Statues recently purchased at an estate sale/auction. I spoke with the woman who was selling them and she said she purchased them at an auction many years ago. There is some damage. The head of the woman has been broken and glued in place and on the gentleman. His arm in the elbow area has been glued back on, too. The arm crack is extremely hard to see as it is in the fold of his jacket. You really have to inspect it closely to see that. The neck one on the woman is obvious. It doesn't look like there has been any loss of porcelain in either one of these areas as both look like clean breaks. The woman told me when she purchased them the head was as it is. She made no mention of the arm crack, and I only noticed upon close inspection prior to this listing. The gentleman has a ring in his hand and he is attempting to place ... moreit on her finger. She is shyly turning away. Both measure 18 inches tall and about 6 inches wide. I see no other cracks, chips, breaks etc. There are many very delicate edges which appear to be intact. They are pretty dusty and could use a good, careful, cleaning. The same number appears on both bases. I am not sure what the rectangular hole in the bottom is for. I could only think they may have been on some sort of bronze base at some time. The colors are wonderful and so is the detail. The first picture is really a good representation of their color. This is a very high quality Qing Dynasty 19th century handmade porcelain ornate Chinese figural sculpture. it is made with an abundance of very intricate detailing and extremely intricate. it is made with very vibrant color and depicts a female figure standing on a very detailed stylized floral base. she is completely hand painted and her robe has wonderfully painted butterflies and pattern-work. it measures 8 1/8 inches by 2 3/4 inches. it is overall in good shape especially for being so delicate. the head has a hairline crack at the neck running around but seas a very good repair and almost non noticeable. refer to last picture. there are a couple other very small nicks that have been repaired as well. These dogs appear to me to be spaniels(feel free to send me your corrections! In either case. They feature black and white coloring, with yellow detail near their noses and gold detail on their collars. They each stand alert. One with head to the left and the other to the right. They would look great on either end of a mantle or a bookshelf! This lovely pair came to us with badly damaged eyes. They have been replaced with brown acrylic eyes that fit the pieces much better. These pieces are English and date to about the mid-1800's. Overall. The dogs are in good condition. They both have some crazing to the glaze, which one normally expects from Staffordshire pieces of this age. German Porcelain Fairing Pieces dating 1800's. These beautiful pieces are in very good conditions. Representing two young ladies in lovely dresses. On one there is a small chip on the shoe and two other ones(hand, hat) The other statue has one chip on the back ribbon and a small part of the dress, and another one on the hand, but they aren't that noticeable. For the rest they are of glimmering beauty. They are signed and have a number, which can be seen if you zoom in on the last photo. Antique Late 1800's Staffordshire Temperance Double Sided Figure, Water/Gin
This is a wonderful antique piece by Staffordshire of England. The figure is 2 sided with water and gin titles. One side has a young well dressed man with a water canteen. The other side features the same man looking much older in tattered clothing. With a bottle of gin. The moral or message is quite clear, showing how alcohol will corrupt your life. There is no mark on the underside, but I am positive it was made in England for Staffordshire during the temperance movement. In 1876 the British Woman's Temperance Association was formed; and in 1884 the National Temperance Federation was founded. This statue is a result of that movement, and has great historical relevance. It presents in excellent condition despite its great age. There are flaws or defects to speak of. The only very minor thing to mention is a tiny bit of faded paint on ... morethe hand, and hat(photos 3,4, and 8) Otherwise, this figure looks great. It stands 9 and 3/4 in tall, and measures 10 and a 1/2 in all the way around the base. This piece is a great example of older English porcelain, the condition is great and it will display beautifully wherever it is placed. Collectors and enthusiasts of antique English figurines be thrilled to own a piece such and this one.

Antique pre-1800s Capodimonte woman in yellow hat carrying cup& jug/crock figurine. Very nice hand painted with bright colors. Very good condition for it's age but does have some broken fingers. Scratches& wear of time. About 6.5" with the Capodimonte blue crown& N hallmark.

THIS WONDERFUL EARLY FIGURAL MATCH STRIKE AND HOLDER IS FROM THE 19TH CENTURY. THIS GREAT LITTLE PIECE IS MOST LIKELY FROM GERMANY. THOUGH IT IS POSSIBLE IT IS FROM ENGLAND. A BOY KNEELING ON ONE LEG HOLDING A BASKET ON HIS BACK. HE HAS LIGHT GREEN PANTS WITH DOTS AND STARS AS A PATTERN. THE BASKET IS THE ACTUAL MATCH HOLDER. IT WAS ONCE IN FULL LUSTER. THOUGH MOST OF IT IS GONE FROM BEING HANDLED AND CLEANED OVER THE YEARS. THE GLAZE IS THICK IN SOME AREAS AND IS DARKENED. THE SPOTS ON IT ARE ENTITIES THAT GOT INTO THE GLAZE WHEN IT WAS MADE. AND I BELIEVE ALL IS PERMANENT. THERE IS ONE EDGE CHIP BEHIND HIM AT THE EDGE OF THE MATCH RECEIVING BOWL. OR THE USED MATCH HOLDER PLATE. PLEASE SEE THE PHOTOS FOR THIS DETAIL. For your consideration is an early 19th century English pearlware figure"Rebecca at the Well" Hand painted colors over cream-colored earthenware with visible areas of pooled cobalt in the glaze. Small. Old label on the underside"Figurine from London 1816, Rebecca at Well, Thomas Shields, gave it to Eleanor Wilson wife of Robert Wilson(2 wives) Although the given date is 1816, this piece may be a little older. Measures 9.25 inches(23.5 cm) tall. The square base measures 4.3 inches(11 cm) Weight is about 1 pound and 11 ounces(770 grams) Condition: The left arm is broken and missing. As well as the item(perhaps a jug? that she was holding.there is light glue residue in this location from an old repair. The base also has a related break to it.
