A beautiful pair of Authentic Antique Meissen porcelain figurines. The figurines depict a handsome young couple dressed in thier best attire. They are both signed on the base and have impressed numbers. They measures 8.5" tall. The woman figurine is in good condition for her age. There is a small piece of her yellow hat bow missing, and a shallow flake in the bottom edge of her dress. The man figurine needs restoration on his arm and one side of his vest, along with a few fingers on his bad arm. He is also missing a small part of his hat ribbon. This is an auction for a beautiful porcelain Lady w/lamb figurine that stands 8-1/2" tall and is in fine condition. She is also carrying a basket of flowers. Made very well and deatiled. Someone took very good care of this piece as there are alot of small pieces that usually get broken off such as: her hands. Arms and in this case the small flowers in the backet. All are intact and there are no chips or cracks or repairs of any kind. She is very delicate. She would look great on a shelf or in a china hutch. Very nice pastel colors and a nice glaze. This is a very elegant pair of man and woman porcelain statues from the 19th Century time period. They both stand approximately 8" tall. Old Painted Terra Cotta Bust of Mendelssohn - R. Ulbrecht - 8" Tall
An interesting old painted terra cotta bust of the composer Felix Mendelssohn. It is 8" tall. It is marked on the back what appears to be"R. Ulbrecht. mod. diponirt. The condition is very good with no cracks. There does appear to be what may be a small area of repair on the tip of the nose. The paint finish shows light age and wear. Mostly on the back where there are a few spots of paint loss that reveal the red clay underneath. There are also a couple of areas on the back that have what appears to be residue from an old label. I removed some of this with mild cleaning but, didn't want to try anything harsher for fear of doing more harm than good. This gorgeous antique half doll stands 8 cms tall. She has"Germany" marked on the base at the back as well as a number- I have tried to show them to you in Photograph 3 but it is hard to see. I cannot read the number. She is in perfect condition- no chips. Cracks, crazing or other nibbles. She short blonde hair similar to a 1920's hair cut and she is holding a bunch of multi-coloured flowers- apart from the hair and the flowers, she is all-over white. Please take the time to enlarge the photographs and appreciate how gorgeous she is. Anyone who collects these half dolls will appreciate the right angle of the right arm and the left arm and hand being raised, is more valuable than a doll with its arms close to the sides because so often the dolls with arms like on this doll are easily broken. Antique Parian Bust Of Clytie Emerging from Sunflower RC-20 Robert Cooke 8" Tall
Parian ware bust of Clytie picked from a North Carolina estate. Bust and detail are in good condition with no chips or cracks. It does look like there was a repair at the base. And indeed if you look at the inside of the base there is a screw that I think was used as part of the repair. Standing on a shelf or tabletop, however, you don't see it, as all of this is concealed beneath the lip of the sunflower from which Clytie is emerging. I am not an expert and originally assumed that this was a reproduction of a 19th century bust. but then I discovered that it is impressed RC 20 on the bottom. This is the maker's mark for Robert Cooke who one source indicates worked from 1871-1879 and is a maker that is listed in The Parian Phenomenon. Page 242. So honestly I'm not sure. I don't want to advertise it as something that it's ... morenot, which is why I've marked the age"unknown, but it could actually be old. Please examine the photos carefully as they depict the actual item you'll receive. It is dirty, and could use a good cleaning. For those that don't know it. The story of Clytie is below: There was once a Nymph named Clytie. Who gazed ever at Apollo as he drove his sun-chariot through the heavens. She watched him as he rose in the east attended by the rosy-fingered Dawn and the dancing Hours. She gazed as he ascended the heavens, urging his steeds still higher in the fierce heat of the noonday. There are chips ... morealong the base that you can see in the 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th photos. The handle has been broken in three places and reglued, viewable in the 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th photos. His tri corn hat has been broken and reglued, shown close-up in the 13th photo. The repairs are old, as you can see the green substance used inside the hat, in the 14th photo. There is also a glaze speck on the top rim of his hat and several glaze flaws, including the one above the green base, viewable in the 11th and 12th photos. Underside marks include a large incised letter"F" shown in the 3rd from last photo, a die-stamped number"3" shown in the next to last photo and the initials shown in the last photo, which are under the glaze.
