Mid 19th Century Staffordshire Figural Group "Young Prince Posing on His Horse"!
This auction is for a very nice mid 19th century English Staffordshire hand painted pottery figural group of a young prince posing on his horse. This fine piece was purchased from a very prominent Washington D.C. estate. The previous owners had a large collection of 18th and 19th century English wares to include a vast collection of 19th century Staffordshire figurals. Although the bidding was vigorous.I was able to purchase a few or so from this fine estate. Please forgive me if my descriptions are slightly redundant, but there are quite a few to be listed,as seen in picture 12) This is a subtle figure depicts a young man holding a basket posing on a horse, see pics) Obviously he is of royalty, because the base states Prince"but I'm not sure if this is a young Edward or not. The figure has nice detail and has been fairly well painted. ... moreThe figure stands 8 3/4" tall, with an approx base dimension of approx 2 1/8" x 5 1/4" This figural was made in the 1850's-60's,in the Staffordshire region. Ofcourse there were so many maker's producing these figures, and the fact that they are unsigned, would make it hard to point to a particular maker. It is in very good condition with age appropriate wear, crazing, see pics) Not too shabby for 150 plus years old! 19th Century Antique Matching Numbered Pair Staffordshire Porcelain Spaniel Dogs
Here is a perfectly wonderful old numbered and trade marked matching pair of Staffordshire Spaniels that date back to the late 1800's. The British royalty loved their Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and they became a revered subject for the porcelain pottery makers of 19th Century England. The pair came down with my Great-Grandparents to Bartow. Florida in 1910 and have been in the family since. I only say this because it probably makes them a"one owner" provenance. The mark on the base is that of"Old Staffordshire Ware England" And both pieces are numbered but only one still legibly. They appear to be numbered 43 and 17 and of course, the numbers are under the original glaze. In 1892 Parliament decreed that English pottery must say"England" on the bottom. Twenty years later the mark had to read"Made ... morein England" The Spaniels stand 5 1/2" high and the base is four inches long by 2 3/4" at the widest part. The pair is in absolutely perfect condition. With no cracking, chipping or crazing whatsoever. I photographed them in sunlight and with flash to try and bring out the lovely rose gold paint under the glaze. The locket and collar are probably 24 carat solid gold paint. I will want to send these insured for at least the value of the winning bid. If you would like. I can insure them for the appraised value of five hundred U.S.D. I will not take the chance of sending them overseas.

Four Very Old Happy Little Toby Jugs Early 19th Century England Staffordshire
Here are four cute little toby jugs. I bought them all together many years ago and hope to keep them together now. But will contemplate selling individually if asked. I have lovingly called them John, Paul, George and Ringo. They are not marked, but I will tell you what I believe to be true of them. They are from England and are believed to be early Devonmoor Pottery/Staffordshire from the Georgian period. Being unmarked, it cannot be known for sure but they do resemble the shapes and molds used by Devonmoore. It is also believed that these may have been salesmen's samples. They each are from the same identical mold and two even have identical spots on their noses where there was a bubble in the molding. They are all hand painted in similar colors of the traditional blues and yellows as shown. They are not considered"tinies" ... moreas they stand about 3 1/2 in. tall. They are all in good condition for their age and only have some age crazing, as would be expected in addition to the manufacturing flaws previously noted. I am reluctantly selling some of my most cherished jugs and do hope to see them go to another who would appreciate the uniqueness of having four of something so old. As with all of my Buy It Now sales. Immediate payment is required. Please ask all questions before buying, as all sales are final. The shipping amount quoted is for all four to be shipped together. Thank you for your understanding of these terms and for your interest. g6.RcmdId ViewItemDescV4,RlogId p4%60bo7%60jtb9%3Fuk%601d72f%2B%3Eg6%3E-14abaef7d45-0x10a-
VERY FINE 19TH CENTURY STAFFORDSHIRE SHERRATT STYLE COW BULL FIGURINE
Last auction on this one at a rock bottom price for 1 day only. This auction is for a very finely crafted early 19th century Staffordshire cow or bull figurine. This one is not crudely done as so many of the early Staffordshire figurines are. The painting and modeling of this piece are just beautiful. It measures about 6" long and about 3 3/4" high. It is in good condition but does have a few minor losses. There is a small divot in the back on the base. A almost nothing flake on one horn and a small chip on the greenery in back of the bull. I have seen a few high end early Sherratt pieces that have similar painting and quality but I really don't know who made this piece. Selling with no reserve! Thanks for your bid and Good Luck!
Staffordshire Girl on Goat Figurine Antique 19th Century England
Staffordshire girl on goat figurine from England. This style of figurine was popular in the mid 19th century. Many believe the girl was to represent the Queen's daughter. The figurine was broken at some point in history and repaired. Which is visible at her waist. Please see the closeup photos showing the break. She is in otherwise good shape. And the horns are intact. There is typical crazing due to age. Please examine the photos carefully, and click to zoom in. She's lovely, in spite of her flaws. Measures about 5 1/4 inches high and about 4 inches at the widest point. And 1 3/4 inches deep. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding. As returns are not accepted. Item will be shipped insured against breakage during transit. Please pay within 3 days of auction end, thanks you!
