Vintage Lady & Man Porcelain Figurine 13" tall - Marked AA - Dresden Germany
My apologies to those that were watching and bidding on this figurine previously. I found a flaw and had to end the auction and relist. This auction is for a vintage porcelain figurine of a lady& gentleman. Measures just shy of 13" tall by 9.5" long by about 5" deep. Marked as shown with an"AA" and a stylized sun. Not sure who the maker is. But judging by the quality, it is likely German. There is a ton of detail on this one. Lots of ruffles, ribbons, flowers, and bows. There is one flaw. If you look at her left arm, there is a bt of ribbon draping over it. I was informed that there is supposed to be a ribbon hanging over her arm and down the front of her dress. This also explains the area on the front of her dress that appears wasn't colored during the glazing process. The bit of ribbon over her arm blends ... morein with her arm and initially I thought she was wearing a glove. You do not see the broken edges unless you flip it upside down. The missing ribbon doesn't seriously detract from the piece. I think it is still quite lovely and I am relisting it as is. I do not see any other cracks chips or repairs. Victorian German Hand Painted BISQUE PORCELAIN BUST Young Lady w Braids 13" Tall
Lovely Victorian era. Hand-painted Bisque Porcelain Bust. Excellent condition. Bust stands 13 inches tall and is 8.5 inches wide at the shoulders. The base is 4 inches square. The sculpture depicts a young lady with blonde braids. Her eyes are blue. Her lips are a coral color and her cheeks are rosy pink. She is dressed in a white blouse detailed with tiny white raised beads. Her pink jumper has a yellow swirl patterned collar, a blue band of trim and a violet bow. The base of the bust is blue and white with gold trim, and is detailed with a gold cross and violet leaf design. The underside of the base is marked with a blue square containing an oval shape. And a pair of sword or"7" marks, also in blue. It is also inscribed with what appears to read"No. 249 29" No cracks or chips. Color is strong and unfaded. Excellent antique ... morecondition. Vintage Early Borghese Handsome 18th Century Style Couple~13" tall~Charming.
A striking pair of Vintage Borghese statues. The woman appears to be selling fruit;carrying a basketful. While the man is offering a fish in his hand and a finely detailed net is cascading over his arm. They are incredibly detailed and have an unusually attractive appearance as you can see when you examine the high definition photos. As with other very old chalkware statues. There is some damage to be seen. The man is relatively unscathed with a small chip on the top of his hat and a small spot off his jacket at the upper back. The woman has a chip from her hat, and on the base,to the right of her feet and damage to one wrist and all fingers. They are blue-eyed and have blonde hair. I have not seen that hair and eye color combination in other Borghese matched statues that are currently available. There are later Borghese available that do ... morenot have such fine detail as these. Their faces have a life-like appearance and so do their costumes. Which are richly colored. The statues both have old Borghese original paper labels on the bottom. Because chalkware is plaster of sorts, there is almost always some damage on the truly old pieces. Since the look is purposely distressed, repairs could be done by a talented person and would not look out of place. The quality is unmistakeable. Please examine all photos as they are high definition and show the superb detailing as well as the expected aging.They are both 13" high and rather heavy,but the shipping charge includes insurance and tracking. The pieces are marked on the back with a number which is typical of German manufacturing. There are no chips or cracks and are in very good condition. The woman has a pencil point black mark on her cheek. Which I have included in the last picture. I am sure it can be wiped clean but have left that up to the new owner. They are both dressed in blue clothing with pink accessories and gold shoes and accents. The gold dot design is raised. Like braille, and then painted gold. Large 13" Tall Heubach (?) Man in Hat Holding Spectacles German Excellent Condit
Offering a figurine of a large 13" tall gentleman holding his spectacles. Glass case also in his hand. Wearing the French type hat with a large coat with larger collar, a bow tie/ ascot and a waistcoat and breeches with high boots. All in good order- no repairs, chips nor hairlines. I think this is Heubach- but he is unmarked and he doesn't have the characteristic intaglio eyes that most Heubach's have so- you be the judge. He also sports a watch fob type tassel hanging from this waist. The colour of his pants in the pics appears far more yellow than he actually looks in person- perhaps the green background. Great face, rosy cheeksw, beautiful blue eyes, blond hair, pink blush shadow with a pink over line, pronounced philtrum with an open/closed mouth with teeth. Great smile. Gold, and purple floral decorations down the front ... moreof his pants, the glass case is also purple as is the tassel on his hat. Blond hair has distinct curls, early in the mold. Tiny indentation on his jacket behind his left hand but is a factory thing- as are a couple of mold lines on his upper right leg. Low BIN for this nice piece. Measured to the handle, x 7" 17.78 cm. across the base. Please enlarge the photos for a closer look, as there is damage. In the 2nd photo, you can see nicks on the mug and spout of the jug. There are chips ... morealong the base that you can see in the 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th photos. The handle has been broken in three places and reglued, viewable in the 5th, 8th, 9th and 10th photos. His tri corn hat has been broken and reglued, shown close-up in the 13th photo. The repairs are old, as you can see the green substance used inside the hat, in the 14th photo. There is also a glaze speck on the top rim of his hat and several glaze flaws, including the one above the green base, viewable in the 11th and 12th photos. Underside marks include a large incised letter"F" shown in the 3rd from last photo, a die-stamped number"3" shown in the next to last photo and the initials shown in the last photo, which are under the glaze. This toby is heavy, weighing 5 3/4 lbs.2.61 kg. I am offering this fine, large toby jug at no reserve, with a very reasonable opening bid. Payment by Paypal. The shipping charge includes insurance.
