FRANCE & DAVERKOSEN for JOHN STUART mid century DANISH modern TEAK side TABLE
This is an exceptional mid century Danish modern side or coffee table. The bottom is stamped. FRANCE& DAVERKOSEN, MADE IN DENMARK, JOHN STUART INC, NEW YORK. I believe the wood is teak. The top has a nice raised lip that runs the length of the table and the bottom shelf is slatted. The table measures approx 20" high, 29.5" long and 20" wide. There is an old repiar on top about 3.75" x.25" and a very small chunk missing underneath by one of the pegs(see last two photos) Otherwise seems to have normal age wear and is in good used vintage condition. This is a beautiful example of mid century modern design. Please visit our other auctions for more great vintage items.

Pair of walnut mid-century modern side tables, Janus Collection from John Stuart
Stunning pair of walnut tables with round metal(either brass or bronze) pulls. Part of the Janus Collection from John Stuart Inc. These are side or end tables, but could also serve as elegant night tables. They feature a single drawer and floating shelf, with beautifully understated curves on the face and tapering legs. Wonderful examples of the mid-century or Danish modern style. The Janus Collection is sought-after. Other examples of these same tables are currently listed on 1stdibs for $3800(search for"Pair of Vintage Side Tables or Night Stands by John Stuart for Janus" and at Stellar Union for $1800. There are some surface imperfections in line with a half-century of normal use. Including a missing metal glide on one of the legs and light circular spots on the surface, presumably from lamps, but structurally they are sound ... moreand rock solid. The drawers pull smoothly and sit square in the frame. They could be refinished, but they are in good condition and certainly do not need to be. They are truly lovely tables-rare and collectible.
