To my surprise this lamp is adjustable in heigh t. The metal base unscrews to make this lamp go from 7" up to about 9 1/2" 12 1/2" with shade and bulb) This piece shows great patina throughout and is being left to next buyer as to how much cleaning is to be done. The wiring on this lamp is definitely older and may need to be redone. As you can see from one of the pictures it does(or at least did) work when I carefully and cautiously tested it! I cannot guarantee that it will continue to work without rewiring. That being said I am including pictures to show the plug and socket wires. Some fraying of the cloth cover is evident at both ends. I would rather err on the side of being cautious but the rest of the cord seems to be in fairly good shape. No tape jobs or cuts. The"HUBBELL" switch seems to turn nicely and has great on/ off clicks. The shade(which is non metallic) sort of snaps around the bulb. Pictures will show this mechanism on the inside of the shade. I am not sure of the age of this lamp. But I knew it was something different and unique when I saw and obtained it. Hopefully you will too and give it a good home. I just plucked from a little antique shop in Bucks County PA. Perfect for country or log cabin decor. Front porch etc. Legs are nailed together and are composed of real tree limbs. Stunning design. The top flat section of the table is the only portion not made from branches or limbs. Flat wood surface with it's sides decorated with bark and half moon sections of limbs. This table features a gorgeous parquet top with gold and white legs and apron in a Hollywood Regency style. The table dates back to the 1960's and belongs to a friend of mine whose mother bought it new in the 60's. The table measures 25" square x 21.75" high and the Baker nameplate is attached under the table top. Not sure but appears to be made of a teak or mahogany leg with top being a teak or mahogany veneer over partial or whole presswood base. Nice old table with some lite defects. There is some veneer missing around edge of table and corners. A rub mark and maybe a lite cigarette mark or two to the top. Table is mostly sturdy but one leg moves a little when pressure is applied. I think it could use a little glue but hasn't caused me any concern. Also. I have a gorgeous Vintage Baker Furniture Coffee Table that I picked up from a hi-end estate sale. This table is solid burled maple( I believe) and has an inlaid pattern going around the perimeter of the table top as pictured. There may be some faint scratches from use over the years and there is a couple of wear marks to the veneer on the lip of the table. REMEMBER this is a vintage table that has been gently used. You will find nicks and wear marks on pre-owned furniture no matter how careful the previous owner was. The table has brass end caps on the legs and has carved woodwork all over the table.
