Size 7(rewsizing available) Not cheap silver electroplate! This is a high-quality. Solid sterling silver band manufactured by one of America’s leading semi-custom mount manufacturers. NOTE: Resizing is available(may incur nominal extra cost depending on size required) DESCRIPTION: The oldest silver artifacts found by archaeologists date from ancient Sumeria about 4.000 B.C. At many points in the ancient world, silver was actually more costly than gold, particularly in ancient Egypt. The ancient Egyptians believed that the skin of their gods was composed of gold, and their bones were thought to be of silver. The first large-scale silver mines were in Anatolia(ancient Turkey) and Armenia, where as early as 4,000 B.C. silver was extracted from lead ores. From Turkey and Armenia silver refining technology spread to the rest of Asia Minor and Europe. By about 2,500 B.C. the Babylonians were one of the major refiners of silver. The high value ancient cultures place on silver is demonstrated by the fact that some of the richest burials in history uncovered by archaeologists have been from this time frame; that of Queen Puabi of Ur, Sumeria(26th century B.C. Tutankhamun(14th century B.C. and the rich Trojan(25th century B.C. and Mycenaean(18th century B.C. treasures uncovered by Heinrich Schliemann. Celebrating that heritage. Here’s a gorgeous, high quality sterling silver band. This is a heavily constructed ring, thick, and 7mm in width(much more substantial and heavier than the typical ring band) Please do not confuse this with cheap silver electroplate. This is a high-quality ring manufactured right here in the USA by one of the nation’s largest manufacturers of gold and sterling silver semi-custom mounts. His height was 4 foot 6; he had crooked legs and an enormous nose that he would sometimes augment with a paper-mache version whenever anyone stared at his natural nose. Bell began work as an engraver of crests. Names, etc. on dog collars. Despite his small stature, he deliberately rode the tallest horse available in Edinburgh, dismounting by a ladder to the cheers of onlookers. Bell produced almost all of the copperplate engravings for the 1st-4th editions of the Britannica: 160 for the 1st. 340 for the 2nd, 542 for the 3rd, and 531 for the 4th. For the 1st edition, Bell produced three full pages of anatomically accurate depictions of dissected female pelvises and of foetuses in wombs for the midwifery article; these illustrations shocked King George III who commanded that the pages be ripped from every copy.
