ROMAN BRONZE RING Legionary Golden Prosperity Plant Size 7 3/4 Average Opening = 17.97mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. What a BEAUTIFUL ring! This beautiful ring was found at a Roman site in Ancient Moesia and dates from around 200 AD This ring features an oval bezel that has a clear engraving on it's face. The engraving is of wheat plants in full fruit. The ring shows some crystallization and some slight surface pitting but the ring remains intact and would make a good example of this ring type to expand your collection. The Roman army was utilized ... moreto insure the flow of wheat to Rome from all of it's provinces remained uninterrupted. Wheat was the single most important commodity in the Ancient world. Almost every war that Rome engaged in was over the flow of grain. Either to Rome itself or to one of her vassal states. The Roman Legionaries were proud to provide this vital service to the Empire and proudly wore these rings to signify that. Above and below are 2 more views of this SUPER ring. The picture above shows the shine of the group of rings that I am offering tonight. This ring is intact and can still be worn. This ring has a Wonderful Golden color to it with faint patina traces remaining This ring is a bit out of round but measures around a size 7 3/4 American Average Opening = 17.97mm_ This ring is a TRUE GEM and would make a wonderful addition to any collection or as a piece of wearable ANCIENT ART! CV Roman Bronze Ring SUPER LEGIONARY SOLDIERS BATTLE SHIELD ~ size 11 1/2
ROMAN BRONZE RING Perfectly Decorated Legionary Shield Size 11 1/2 Average Opening = 21.06mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. This ring has an SUPERB design! This fine ring was found at a Roman encampment site in Ancient Moesia and dates from between 100 and 300 AD This ring features the Roman Legionary Shield design. There is a shield design in the center of the bezel that is less common. Where the more common rings have a diamond surrounded by sets of lines in a diamond shape or a chevron. This example has vertical panels with alternating, filled-in, zig-zag ... morepatterns of triangles and diamonds that were carved in such a way that they REALLY jump out at you. The design on this ring is in TIP TOP condition. The design is crisp and clear and very well done. The shoulders of this ring are wide and MIRROR smooth as you can tell by the reflections in the second picture of the ring. You can see the nice shoulder decorations which are a little more fancy than we usually see. This is an AMAZING Legionary Artifact. Ancient Rome may have passed into history. But at least we have these artifacts to remind us of Rome's legendary might. It was common practice for Roman soldiers to wear rings that resembled the devices on their shields. There is a little extra wear here and there which adds to the charm of this STUNNING ring. This ring was also cast from an odd. Silvery b bronze alloy as you can tell from my pictures. In some lights it looks like silver but you can also see some golden highlights bounce off it as you move it in the sunlight. This ring has an uncommon design that makes this ring a rare treat indeed. ATTENTION* A few of you have asked me to give you a"heads up" on when a good"everyday" ring comes up. Well.he
CV Roman Bronze Ring LEGIONARY SOLDIERS SWORD STAR-CROSS
ROMAN BRONZE RING Golden Star Sword-Cross Design Size 8 1/2+ Average Opening = 18.60mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. SUPER STAR! That's what this 2000 year old Roman Ring is.SUPER! This ring was found at a Roman site in Ancient Moesia and dates from the 1st Century A.D. This ring features a 14mm x 14mm rounded-octagon bezel. The bezel has a nicely carved"Star-Cross" on it. The Star-Cross was a very early spiritual symbol and in later years was worked into and adopted by the Christians of Rome as their symbol. The designs carving is well done ... moreas you can see in my pictures. This"star-cross" has an added bonus. That the cross at the center is formed of 4 engraved"swords" These more detailed crosses are HIGHLY desirable and this is one of the best examples that I have seen in quite some time. This bezel sits above a nice solid band that is VERY wide for its size. The band measures just about 5.5mm wide along its whole length. The band's finish is mirror smooth as you can tell from my picture above. It was quite common for Roman soldier's to build up quite a little cache of"liberated" jewelry which they would use as a form of currency for their favorite activities. Gambling, women, food and drink. This ring has all the hallmarks of a True Collector's masterpiece! Do NOT miss your chance to own this FINE Roman ring Above and below are two more views of this FINE piece of Ancient History. Above is a picture that shows you the AMAZING shine on the rings that I am offering tonight. ROMAN BRONZE RING Golden Legion"LIGHTNING" Shield Size 12 Average Opening = 21.46mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. A Most TERRIFIC Ring! This ring is another Roman Battlefield site find from the Balkans and dates from between 100 and 300 A.D. This ring will be easily recognized by most of you as a Roman Legionary"Scutum" shield ring. This ring has nice engravings with the traditional four sets of triple engraved lines arranged in a diamond pattern with a nicely engraved lightning bolt zig-zagging its way through the center of the bezel. ... moreThis ring's bezel was not just engraved this way. This rings bezel design is CAST this way which is rare for these rings as is the heft and thickness of the ring. It is difficult to tell from my pictures but the central diamond is slightly raised up from the lines of the diamond outline. The finish on this ring is first class. Not only was this ring cast from an alloy that has a wonderful gold color but it polishes up so nicely that you can see your reflection in any part of the band as well as the bezel. This ring is SUPER solid and comes in a size 12 that I have only seen a half a handful of times with this ring style. Above and below are two more views of this nice ring in a popular motif. Above is a picture of this ring on my index finger to show just how large it is. Below is a picture showing the shine of tonights rings. CV Roman Bronze Ring INCREDIBLE ROOSTER or COCKEREL Roman Republic ca 350 - 50BC
ROMAN BRONZE RING Amazing Roman Republic Ring ca 350- 50 B.C. featuring a Rooster or Cockerel Size 9 Average Opening = 18.88mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. GREAT CAESAR'S GHOST! This MUSEUM QUALITY ring was found at an Ancient Roman site in the Balkans and dates from the time of the Roman Republic and Julius Caesar ca 350 B.C. 50B.C. I barely need words to describe this ring. My pictures will do my talking for me. This ring has a classic shape to it where the semi-triangular band is widened and flattened at one spot into an almost hexagonal shape where ... morethe main design is engraved. This simple style was popular for a few centuries. Mostly during the era of the Roman Republic. Engraved in the center of the bezel is a Roman Rooster or"Cockerel" If you look closely you can see many of the fine details of this ring. You can still see the feathers and eye as well as the feet of the bird. There are also the remains of some highlighting dots around the bezel edge. The Rooster had a few meanings in Rome. The Roman god Mercury is often represented or accompanied by a Rooster or Cockerel because as Mercury or Hermes was the messenger of the gods. The Rooster was known to announce the coming of dawn and the new day. The rooster or"Gallus" as it was called in Latin was also a symbol of the Gauls. To the ears of the Romans the Celtic language of the Gauls sounded like the noise that chickens make so they got the nickname of Gallus or Gauls. The Gauls were not offended by the nickname because Roosters have played a role in the symbolism and folklore of many nations for thousands of years. For many people. The rooster symbolizes bravery and boldness as he defends the flock against all comers, along with virility. In Fra

ROMAN BRONZE RING Sparkling"Flower Cross" Design with Crisp Engravings Size 9 1.4 Average Opening = 19.19mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. This is a TERRIFIC ring! This ring was found at a Roman Battlefield site in the Balkans and dates from 300- 500 A.D. This ring features a thick. 13mm round bezel with some SUPER decorations. The bezel has a well done design that shows us a central design of a well done"Floral Cross" much like the designs that we see on other Late Empire pieces. It is amazing how deep the four arms of the cross are and ... morehow mirrorlike the open areas between them are. The bezel engravings are so deep that it makes them really stand out. The band is of the 1/2 round variety. There are some interesting decorations on the shoulders of this ring which make it stand out a little from it's more common cousins. This decoration is a well defined panel that has a lightning bolt figure running through it with some deep. Linear decorations highlighting the panels. This style is made to EXACTLY resemble the classic Legion style rings made in Rome itself. The color and condition of this ring is excellent because this ring was cast from an alloy which lends it that unmistakable bright gold color. It was common practice for Roman Legionaries to carry pieces of"liberated" jewelry in their purses for use as hard currency when on campaign. They would use them as money for their favorite off-duty activities. Namely, wine, women and gambling. This is a simple yet elegant ring that will complement any wardrobe nicely. The pictures above and below show two more views. The picture above shows you the lightning bolt decorations inside the panels on the shoulders of this ring. Above is a picture of the g
CV Roman Bronze Ring LEGION SOLDIER'S MITHRA ~ SUN GOD HELIOS RING
ROMAN BRONZE RING Fancy Golden Sun God/ Mithraic Symbol Size 8 3/4 Average Opening = 18.68mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. OUTSTANDING! This ring was found at a site in Ancient Thrace and dates from the 1st Century AD This fine ring is done in a style that was popular among Roman craftsmen during the 1st Century in Rome itself. The ring features a rimmed circular bezel with a"SUN" symbol at it's center. The sun symbol is a bit stylized and has eight triangular points to it and another cross symbol in the center. I came across another legionary ... morering a year or so ago that had almost the same exact symbol on it. These sun symbols were extremely popular among many Mediterranean cultures. It traveled west as the symbol of Mithra who was a god that was worshipped in Mesopotamia by various cultures. This symbol was also used in Rome for the worship of Sol Invictus who the Greeks worshiped as Helios. There was also a big cult of Mithra amongst the legionaries of the Roman Legions. The fact that there are typical legion"X" designs on both shoulder escutcheons which leads me to believe in a more intimate legion connection The shoulders have excellent decorations of double-lined X's remaining that really highlight the ring's bezel. The shoulder"escutcheons" on this ring are quite pronounced and one is more worn than the other which tells me that this was a pinky ring which often rubbed on hard surfaces on that side. Look at the picture below which tries to show you a close-up of these details. The ring has an odd shape from being worn by the same person for many years. This ring has wonderful color and shine and will make an excellent addition to ANY collection. Above and below are 2 more views of

The shoulder"escutcheons" on this ring are quite pronounced and are a feature that we do not see on many examples. The ring has an odd shape from being worn by the same person for many years so the opening of the band is wider. Side-to-side than it is up and down. This makes the ring more snug to get on but fits nicely once over your knuckle. This ring has wonderful color and shine and the fact that it comes in a larger size 11 will make it an excellent addition to ANY collection. Above and below are 2 more views of this SUPER ring. The picture above shows you both side views of this FINE ring against a white background. You can also tell just how sharply the band narrows just behind the bold shoulder escutcheons. TRUE POWER! This ring was found at a Roman site in Ancient Thracia and dates from 100 B.C. to 100 A.D. This incredible find features a raised up bezel in the shape of the central shield boss of a Legionary shield. The bezel has a raised step and the nice central point. Just like they were done on the shields. There are also many lines engraved on the bezel to create a SUN pattern. The bezel has a remarkable design to it and the fact ... morethat the design is raised up onto several levels show real design skill. The band is wide and flat with two rows of engraved lines on both shoulders of the ring. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. What a WELL MADE ring! This ring was found at a Roman battlefield site and dates from between 100- 300 A.D. This ring features an 11mm X 13mm trumpet shaped bezel with a nicely done Star-Cross on the bezel. LOOK.at the Star-Cross. We usually see these designs with a simple engraved design of 4 arcs to form the Star and a Cross engraved within it. In this example we see a finer detail. Instead of the cross being engraved into the bezel. The area ... morearound the cross is carved deeply and the four areas outside the"Star" are rounded so this design has a 3-D or"raised-relief" look. The roundedness REALLY shows up in the last picture and you can see the light bouncing off the different surfaces of the bezel. The color and shine of this ring are both 1st rate as it was cast from a super"high copper" alloy that gives it a deep red-gold color. The ring also comes in a nice wearable size. It was quite common for Roman soldier's to build up quite a little cache of"liberated" jewelry which they would use as a form of currency for their favorite activities. ROMAN BRONZE RING Perfect Golden Legionary Shield Size 10 Average Opening = 19.85mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. This ring has an EXCELLENT shine! This fine ring was found at a Roman encampment site in Ancient Moesia and dates from between 100 and 300 AD This ring features the Roman Legionary Shield design. There are four sets of three engraved lines that are arranged to form a diamond in the center of the bezel. The design on this ring is in TIP TOP condition! The design is crisp and clear and very well done. This was one of the most common designs back ... morewhen I started restoring rings. Over the years I have seen many of these with another design inside the central diamond shape. Sometimes there are 6 or 8 point stars and often there is an X which is the Roman numeral 10 and very often there is a zig-zag lightning bolt. The surface of this ring is as smooth as glass. Here is your chance to get a simple yet larger sized specimen at a great starting price for a restored ring. Ancient Rome may have passed into history. But at least we have these artifacts to remind us of Rome's legendary might. It was common practice for Roman soldiers to wear rings that resembled the devices on their shields. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. This ring has an SUPERB design! This fine ring was found at a Roman encampment site in Ancient Moesia and dates from between 100 and 300 AD. This ring features the Roman Legionary Shield design. There is a shield design in the center of the bezel. Where the more common rings have a diamond surrounded by sets of lines in a diamond shape or a chevron. This example has a super design that was done in such a way that REALLY jumps out at you. ... moreThe 13mm X 15mm octagonal bezel has a SUPER decoration on it. There a wide, vertical"strap" through the center of the bezel. There is a series of lines in the form of an"X" behind the strap. The design on this ring is in TIP TOP condition. The design is crisp and clear and very well done. The surface of this ring is as smooth as glass. The bezel decorations are also nicely framed on each shoulder with impeccably done"Reed& Column" decorations. Ancient Rome may have passed into history. But at least we have these artifacts to remind us of Rome's legendary might. It was common practice for Roman soldiers to wear rings that resembled the devices on their shields. This ring has that"CLASSIC" Roman styling which is HIGHLY sought after today. Above and below are two more views of this SUPER ring. The color and shi

These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. WOW!This is one SUPER ring! This fine ring was found at a Roman site in Ancient Moesia and dates from 100 to 300 A.D. This ring is a 1st cousin to the classic"Lobed-Diamond" design which many of you are familiar with. Instead of the usual central"diamond" shape. This ring features a mirror smooth, PYRAMID" shaped bezel that has a tri-lobate design on each shoulder of the ring. LOOK.at the lobes on the shoulders in ... morethe last picture and you will have to agree that these are some of the most pronounced shoulder lobes you have ever seen on one of these rings. I cannot get over the bezel of this ring. It acts just like a fun-house mirror. It is impossible for me to take a picture of this ring without the lens of my camera being reflected in the bezel dome and beads of this ring. This is why you see a big black circle in pictures. This ring has excellent details and is a great example of this ring-type. The band is solid and of the triangular cross section variety which gives it a sleek look. The finish and color are both superb and better than in my pictures as I had to take them is half shadow or the glare would have made it too difficult to photograph. The best idea of this ring can be gotten from the last picture which shows from the side just how pronounced that the bezel and lobes are. This ring has proved to be as popular a seller today as it was two thousand years ago. Roman Legionaries loved good food. Women and most of all gambling when they were off duty and would amass a small hoard of coins and jewelry which was easily transportable and used as currency. Above and below are two mor

OUTSTANDING SHINE& DESIGN! This ring was found at a Roman Legionary site in Ancient Moesia and dates from between 100 and 300 A.D. This fine ring features a wonderful bezel design of an"Aegis" or the goatskin cloak of a Roman Legionary. These goatskin cloaks were worn when on campaign and on parade and had supposed powers of protection that were attributed to the God Jupiter. Though ... morethis is the accepted description of this engraved design. I have been coming across references that lead me to believe that these may be some type of specialized"Sun" symbol. The"Star Burst" in the center of the"cloak" helps to further this belief. Except this example is a little more different than most of these rings. These usually have from 6 to 10 points but this one has 5 which may have been done to look like a Pentagram Star on purpose. The bezel is a 13mm rounded bezel with a lip decoration and has a glass like surface that is hard to tell in the pictures. Another odd thing about this ring is that it is made on a ring that almost always had some type of Celtic design but this example had a design that is usually see on Roman style rings. The shine and color of this ring are TOP NOTCH.as is the SHINE! This ring was also cast from the popular"High Copper" alloy which really allows it to shine and sparkle and has that blush champagne color to it and the band is thinner on one side of the ring than on the other. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. MAGNIFICENT! This ring was found at a Roman site in Ancient Moesia and dates from 100- 300 AD We'll start out with the alloy from which the ring was cast. This ring was cast from a rich. Golden alloy which is the finest that you are likely to see in a ring of this type due to its very high copper content. The design on the trumpet shaped 13mm x 15mm raised. Table bezel, is a nicely done design ... morewhich is HIGHLY detailed. This type of ring usually had a"shield" device engraved on it but instead this has a"diamond-star" design. In the center, there is carved a very bold and deep"X" which often stood for the 10th Legion. There are nicely done, radiating light lines around edge of the bezel to really highlight this ring's bezel. The REAL STAR of this ring though are the shoulder decorations. These shoulder decorations are known as"Strap& Buckle" decorations because they look just like a"saddle strap" going through a"belt loop" They are not just casually engraved either. They are perfectly modeled and give a beefy. Masculine look to this design. There are the remains of two very deep indentations on the buckle shaped escutcheons. I have added two pictures that feature a view of both shoulders below. You only find about 1 in 300 of these rings with such nice decorations and especially in a nice wearable size. The ring isn't a perfect circle but easily fits a finger that is right around a size 10. Not only is this ring highly detailed but it's surface condition is second to none and it has an amazing co

These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. This is a GREAT example of this ring type! This is a great ring that did double duty for it's owner. On the surface it appears to be just a nice ring with an interesting bezel that would catch the light and be an attractive piece. These rings had a more practical and sinister use though. Because of their shape. They were quite good to have on your hand in a fight. The protruding bezel could inflict ... moregreat damage and pain to an opponent. The pictures show how the band strengthened the design and gave the bezel support when dealing an opponent a blow, instead of just being a round band of bronze that the bezel sat upon. This rings bezel rises steeply to a square bezel with two side flanges on each shoulder which protrude greatly. There is a nice and clear"X" engraved right on the tip of the bezel. The letter"X" was often used by the 10th Legion. This"X" is much fancier than we usually see. It has a nicely done palm branch or frond on each of the side slopes This ring has a VERY architectural look to it and the picture which actually gives you the best idea of how nice this simple ring looks when worn on your finger. It was difficult to get a halfway decent picture of this ring as there are so many curved surfaces and the shine is so excellent that I almost always got a glare or shadows on one part or another. It is very rare to have one of these rings that still has such nice color AND nice details engraved on it which will make this ring a perfect addition to any collection. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. Legionary Power! This ring was found at a Roman encampment site in Ancient Moesia and dates from between 300 and 400 A.D. This ring features the device of the 11th Legion which controlled the area from 100AD until the Empire eventually fell to the Barbarians. Prior to the Emperor Constantine's conversion to Christianity. The Legion had either a dolphin or dolphin and trident for their insignia. After the legion helped ... moreConstantine put down rebellions they adopted this new device. The design on the bezel is a Floral Cross over an"X" and the X is made up of four Crosses and instead of a single line to highlight the inside of each"petal" each one is filled with a row of punched dots. The newer design was adopted by the Legion after the famous battle of the Milvian Bridge. There are also decorations on each shoulder. Each shoulder has the classic"BULLET" escutcheon decoration on them that are on a lot of these Legionary rings especially the Legionary Eagle and pentagram rings. Each one also has a nice X engraved on them. This ring is a nice example of this ring type and is highly decorated. You can tell from my pictures how BEEFY this ring is. This ring is one of the most solid examples of this ring type that I have seen in quite a while. The color and shine are both first rate making this example a highly sought after design which will help to make this ring a wonderful addition to any collection. SCREAMING EAGLE This ring was found at a Roman encampment site in Ancient Thrace and dates from 200- 400 AD This is one of the most highly sought after ring designs by collectors of Roman Antiquities. These rings were ONLY worn by soldiers in Rome's Legions. Get your piece of Legionary history by bidding high and bidding early. Or better yet, use the"Buy It Now" option to make sure you win this beauty. These ... morering are getting EXTREMELY hard to find. I love my rings and have MANY in my personal collection and I was torn as to whether I would part with this GEM and have held onto it for a few years. I have many long time customers and I hope one of them sees this BEAUTY and snaps it up. The details. The weight and the SHINE of the superior alloy it was cast from makes it one of the best rings that I have EVER restored. The alloy has a special color to it and polishes up so nicely that I believe that it was cast from the same alloy that was used for the breastplates of Roman Centurions. This ring features a large rounded. Flat bezel. The bezel measures 15mm in diameter. The center of the bezel has a nicely engraved LEGIONARY EAGLE. Now the actual Eagle design is one of the best that I have had in a while. Most of these rings have an engraved outline or picture of an Eagle but this example is an intaglio carved in deep relief. You can still see the minute details like the veining of the feathers and the features of the eagles face. You can even see his tongue darting out from his beak as he screeches! As you see in my pictures. There is only the slightest wear and we can tell that this w

REAL NICE! This ring was found at a Roman site in Ancient Moesia and dates from 100- 300 AD This is one noticeable ring. That's for sure! This ring has a bezel that measures 11mm X 11mm. The design makes use of the traditional concentric circle with the deep central dot motif. While this decorating technique was used for magical purposes. There are five of the circles on this ring's bezel face. These rings were originally ... moremade as votive rings to seek the aid of the gods and goddesses and in later period were bought in the hopes of warding off the"Evil Eye" The number 5 is of special significance and is associated with"Mars" the God of War. It is interesting to note that in later years. The five circles would be put on the bezel in the shape of a Cross, instead of the way they look on a gambling die. When done as the Cross, it stands for the 5 Wounds of Christ and when they were done this way, for the God Mars. A coincidence? Look at the condition of this ring in the picture up above. I was able to bring it back to life almost as the original maker intended it. It was most likely made as a votive offering. The color and shine of this piece are 1st rate as you can plainly see in my pictures. The ring does have a definite decorative quality to it and will surely be noticed wherever it is worn. This ring is an excellent example of the period's craft. The color and shine of this ring are SUPERB and this ring will make a welcome addition to ANY collection. PERFECT PENTAGRAM! This super ring was found in the Balkans by metal detector and dates from the first few centuries A.D. This ring features a PERFECT and CHOICE"Pentagram" symbol surrounded by a nice bezel outline. There are groups of dots which symbolize lesser stars in between the points of the Star and another of them in the center of the main star. LOOK.at the groupings between the points of the Star! These just aren't ... morethe random groups we are used to seeing. These are arranged in a semi-circle with another one in the center. The bezel of this ring is thick and bold. The bezel measures 18mm in diameter and is quite thick Each shoulder swoops away gracefully from the round bezel. There are also the remains of some nice. This is one of the classiest examples of this ring type that I have EVER seen. The Pentagram or Pentacle has been used as a mystical sign for millennia and has a deep spiritual meaning for many cultures. It wasn't until the Middle Ages and the Inquisition in particular that a negative connotation began to be associated with it. This ring has a super color to it and the band is mirror smooth with spectacular shine. This ring was cast from that alloy that has that rich. Golden color which is so desirable. This ring features a flat. 16mm x 14mm oval bezel with some SUPERIOR engravings on it as well as an interesting lip decoration running along the bezels edge. Depicted on the bezel. Are a trio of Legion Battle Standards. This type is related to the"Vexillium" and has a pendant flag, this type also always had disks ... moreor circlets upon it. There is some debate as to which part of a legion these represented but there are some theories that these represented a particular Cohort within a Legion. You see a LOT of these on the reverse side of many Roman coins that had a Legionary significance. This is probably the most detailed example of this ring type that I have seen in quite some time. If you look closely at the little banner in the middle it looks like there is a XI for the Roman numeral 11 which may mean this was made for a soldier in the 11th Legion which was active in Eastern Europe for a few centuries. This is a well made ring with splendid decorations all the way around. Even the recessed rim has nice linear engravings on it. This ring features an 11mm X 12mm oval shaped table bezel with a nicely done Star-Cross on the bezel. While I have seen quite a few of these Star Crosses. We do not usually see example where the"arms" are done in this way. The four arms are made in the form of"Palm Fronds" This is ... morea great, added detail that really sets this example apart from it's more common cousins and is closely related in style to the example up above in my Antiquities Corner banner. There are also some nice linear decorations framing the center of this ring's bezel to make a nice geometric frame decoration. This ring has the sloped shoulders that have nice knob decorations with linear decorations to highlight them. The knobs on both shoulders and the one on the rear of the band are in SUPER shape that we just do not see on many of these rings. The color and shine of this ring are both 1st rate as it was cast from a super"high copper" alloy which is reflected in the rosy color of this ring. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. This is one GORGEOUS ring! This is a Legionary"Shield" ring that was found by metal detector at a Roman Battlefield site and dates from between 100 and 300 A.D. This ring features the"E-3" shield design. It's called E-3 because that's what the main engravings on the sides of the bezel most closely resemble. Those archaeologist aren't big on imagination when it comes to naming things I guess. The ONLY ... moreproblem with this name for THIS ring is that the"E-3" design is really more of an"X" and the deepness and clarity of the design tells us that the upper and lower arms just aren't worn away. These rings are a first cousin to the popular"Diamond Shield" designs with the four sets of engraved lines arranged in a diamond pattern. These rings usually had either zig-zags. Lightning bolts, or a double row of dots running vertically through the center of the shield. This example has the double row of dots. Most of you will have seen these design engraved on a round or oval bezel and this bezel is octagonal and measures 14mm X 13mm. The thickness and roundness to the whole design makes this ring one of the best examples of this ring type that I have been able to offer in the last year. Even both sides of the band have some vertical banding remaining on them. This ring is a GREAT example of it's type and these rings are getting rarer all the time. What a SUPER ring! This ring was found at a Roman military encampment site in the former Roman Province of Moesia and dates from 100- 300 A.D. This ring features a large 16mm rounded bezel which has a votive motif on it. There is a flower engraved rather deeply in the center of the bezel. The engraving is of some type of"LILY" The Lily is known as the"Virgin's Flower" and also as the symbol ... moreof Innocence. Light, Purity, Perfection, Mercy and Majesty. In Greco-Roman mythology this flower was sacred to Hear and Artemis. Even though Venus or Aphrodite as the Greeks called her was best known as the goddess of love she was supposed to have a soft spot for soldiers who fell in battle so some soldiers made offerings to her so she would look after them if they should fall in battle. In Byzantium and early France. It was a royal emblem(the fleur-de-lis is sometimes considered a stylized lily) Primarily the lily has Christian associations, usually attached to the Virgin Mary where it signifies chastity. when Christ is shown as the judge of the world with a lily in his mouth, the flower represents mercy. A lily and a sword signify guilt and innocence. The surface of this ring is silky smooth and with perfect shine. In addition to the nice bezel engravings. SUPERB EXAMPLE! This ring was found at a Roman Villa site in Ancient Moesia and dates from 100- 300 A.D. This is one of the Very Best examples of this ring type that I have ever had the pleasure to offer for auction on eBay. This is the classic"Sleek Diamond-Lobe" design with the stepped shoulders instead of the type with the bulbous lobes but the bezel is gracefully curved and is fully outlined. The bezel ... moreis 17mm x 8mm and is one of the most sleek example I have seen in a long time. The band is so light and graceful that it has become quite oblong over time and I think that instead of trying to round it out to wear it that it would best be used as a display piece. There is a perfectly engraved X across the bezel face. LOOK.at my pictures and you will notice how clear and deep the engravings are done. This ring has a solid band that is of the triangular cross-section variety. This ring was cast from a"high-copper" alloy which has a bright.Golden color. FANTASTIC! This ring was found at a Roman military encampment site in Ancient Moesia and dates from the first few centuries A.D. This ring is done in a style that is usually seen to have a shield motif engraved upon it. The engravings are clear and sharp and really stand out from the mirrorlike surface of this ring. The design almost looks like a linear and more abstract version of the"Diamond-Star" design. Instead ... moreof the narrow. More delicate engravings, This ring's engraver used bold, deep lines to lay out his design. The whole design is highlighted by the use of many triangular chisel marks. Besides that super bezel engravings. The shoulders have very many deep, linear engravings. The light really dances across the shoulder engravings and the bezel face as you move it back and forth in the sunlight. Look at all of my pictures and you will see how thick and solid the band of this ring is. The bezel is also nice in that it sits up on a flare above the band. A lot of this has to do with how the wax model for these early rings were made and so this type of ring has a more"organic" look to it. This ring is perfect for everyday wear because it is 7mm wide along the whole length and is almost 3mm thick. This ring was also cast from an alloy with a very high copper content that should let it mellow with age into that deep. Plum color with some nice purple overtones. These rings are getting more scarce all the time and finding one like this which has a simple elegance to it and with a military connection is a rare treat indeed. AMAZING ARTIFACT! This ring was found near a Roman Legionary Encampment site in an area with artifacts dating from around 100 A.D. but this ring may in fact be much. Much older. This ring is done in a"signet" style and was cast from a very Golden colored alloy which gives it a great color and shine. This ring features a thick and heavy. Rounded bezel that measures about 15mm in diameter. The band is super wide and thick. The ... moredesign features a slightly faded but still clear depiction of an armored and helmeted"Gladiator" holding a sword and a shield. The sword is easy to make out but some people may believe that the shield is actually a bow but I believe that we are looking at the side view of the shield. I believe this may depict a specific type of gladiator known as a"Mirmillone" The"Mirmillones" or"Murmillones" style of gladiator wore a helmet with a stylized fish on the crest(the mormylos or sea fish) As well as an arm guard(manica) It even looks like he is wearing some type of fish scale armor. He is carrying a gladius and an oblong shield in the Gallic style with a center shield boss. This ring could have been made for some early military cult. Possibly to Mars or Aries. The color and shine are both first rate and the ring comes in a great wearable size 9 which is hard to come by. Except for a tiny bit of wear. This ring is in AMAZING condition. This is probably one of the most detailed examples of this ring type that I have EVER come across and will make an EXCELLENT addition to ANY collection of ancient art. CV Roman Bronze Ring ***NEW*** LADIES FANCY DECORATED PYRAMID
ROMAN BRONZE RING Engraved Pyramid Fighting Ring Size 5 Average Opening = 15.70mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. An Excellent Ancient Design! This ring came from a Roman dig site near the Danube and dates from around 300 A.D. This is a great ring that did double duty for it's owner On the surface it appears to be just a nice ring with a three-dimensional pyramid atop of a raised square bezel that would catch the light and be an attractive piece. These rings had a more practical and sinister use though. Because of their shape. They were quite good to have ... moreon your hand in a fight. The sharp protruding surfaces could inflict great damage and pain to an opponent. The picture below shows how the band strengthened the design and gave the bezel support when dealing an opponent a blow. Instead of just being a round band of bronze that the bezel sat upon. The bezel of this ring has nicely done linear engravings to highlight the bezel and make it a more attractive piece. This is also one of the smallest wearable designs that I have come across in quite a while and will be nice for the lady who loves ancient treasures. Many of you have seen many of these rings but very few have this much ornamentation on them. Above and below are two more views of this ring. Below is a picture of this ring and some of the others that I am offering tonight and the amazing shine that I was able to bring to them. This is a rare example of a decorated fighting ring so grab it now! This ring is Round& Sound and 100% wearable This ring has a Wonderful Golden color to it with faint patina traces remaining This ring is not a perfect circle but measures right around a size 5 American Average Openin
CV Roman Bronze Ring ***NEW*** AWESOME LEGION SOLDIER BATTLE FIND ~ Large Size
ROMAN BRONZE RING Large Size and Sparkling Design with Crisp Engravings Size 9 1/2 Average Opening = 19.44mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. This is a AWESOME ring! This ring was found at a Roman Battlefield site in the Balkans and dates from 100- 300 AD This ring features a VERY LARGE bezel that is an 20mm X 12mm"EYE" shape and which has a mirror finish to it as you can see in my pictures. Well actually.maybe you cant. Because I had to take the pictures without direct light because of the glare but believe me, the slightly concave surface as well ... moreas the bold pattern REALLY makes this ring a Light Bouncer. The bezel has a well done design. There is a large double"X" that overlays a big diamond. To make an oblique, checkerboard pattern. Inside of each smaller diamond, is a group of dots. Both the lines and dots are deep and bold, making for a very bold end product. The band is wide. Solid and of a nice wearable size. The color and condition of this ring is excellent. I must confess that I was not planning on selling this ring because it made for a bold design but it is just a teensy bit tight for me so one of you lucky people will get the pleasure. I can tell you. That during the short week that I wore this ring, it got at least a dozen comments. The picture above shows both side views of this attractive and solid ring. Above is a picture
CV Roman Bronze Ring **NEW** GREAT TENTH AUXILIARY LEGION ~ Large sized 10 1/4
ROMAN BRONZE RING Roman Auxiliary Legion Ring! Size 10 1/4 Average Opening = 20.01mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. What a SUPER ring! This ring was found in Ancient Moesia and dates from 200- 400 A.D. This ring is from one of the many Auxiliary Legions that Rome raised from the native levees in her provinces. You will notice in the picture above that this ring was made to use as a seal. The center of this bezel has a nicely engraved monogram. LOOK.at the design! It is still as clear as the day this ring was made. The central design is of a Fancy"Diamond" ... moreshaped Cross with four"Lightning Bolt" designs framing it. Each shoulder has that typical Roman slope to it and have panels of linear decorations on them. I have been looking through my records to find which units were operating in that area and may account for this design. But haven't identified it so far. I believe that it may have belonged to one of the Auxiliary units that were attached to the 10th Legion. The Romans would levy troops from people who had skills in war that weren't standard to the legions and employ them against their enemies. It was common for career soldiers to move from legion to legion based on which Legate would see the most profitable action and therefore amass more loot for his troops. This ring was probably used to seal dispatches carried by runners between units when on campaign. This ring was also cast from an odd alloy that is mostly bronze but seems to have some raw copper in it. Probably for strength. You may be able to tell if you look closely at my pictures that the colors seem to swirl like there was not a 100% merging of the metals or maybe the centuries in the ground have had an effect where the metals are startin

ROMAN BRONZE RING Golden"Five Wounds of Christ" Size 9 1/4 Average Opening = 19.72mm Antiquities Corner is proud to present this fine historical artifact for your collecting pleasure. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. True Christian History! This ring was found at a former Roman site in Ancient Moesia and dates from 300- 500 A.D. This early example of Christian devotional art features a classically shaped trumpet bezel. In the center of the bezel are 5 of the deep concentric circles. Arranged in a"Cross" pattern and which represent what is known as the"5 Wounds of Christ" There are also engraved linear decorations meant to add ... morecontrast to the design. These designs are meant to demonstrate Christ's glory. In addition to representing the 5 wounds of Christ. The"wounds" also tell us of the 5 Gifts of Christ- Pity, Mercy, Grace, Comfort and Life Everlasting. During the Middle Ages. These 5"wounds" came to be used to count the 5"Knightly" virtues- Generosity, Courtesy, Chastity, Chivalry and Piety. I have been able to bring this true Christian Gem back to a state that it's original maker could be proud of. All these centuries after the ring was first made. These decorations were also used in pagan devotional items as well as the"evil eye" designs but when you see five of them. They are always from the Early Christian era. If you will look closely at my pictures. Especially the extra ones I added below you will notice how well made this ring was made. The color and shine are both first rate. Above and below are two more views of this REMARKABLE ring. Above are both side views of this ring against a white background. These artifacts were originally designed to be enjoyed by their owners and I have tried to return these treasures to a state which will both charm and enchant their new owners and show the skill and craftsmanship of old. GREAT CAESAR'S GHOST! This MUSEUM QUALITY ring was found at an Ancient Roman site in the Balkans and dates from the time of Julius Caesar ca 100 B.C. 100 A.D. I barely need words to describe this ring. Just look at my pictures and ALL of your questions will be answered. This ring features a 12mm round bezel. This ring comes with a super intaglio engraving. The engraving is of a songbird which I believe ... moreis a LARK. This motif can be found on many ancient artifacts and to have one in this condition on such a nice ring is a rare treat indeed. The Lark shows up in many legends and myths. The lark is supposed to have been the very first animal created on earth according to many Near East religions and it was also thought to be the messenger of Orpheus. There was a legion of Gauls raised by Caesar. Legio V Alaudae"The Larks" was made up of Celtic warriors from Transalpine Gaul. This was a first for a Roman legion because the name is a Celtic name and not a Latin cognomen. Because of the mirror-like. Curving surfaces, it was extremely difficult to get any pictures which would show the details apparent to the naked eye. Look at the details! You'll notice the open beak of the bird singing. The head of the bird is just barely over 1.5mm. The ring may also be a bit on the small side but finding one with such a pretty design is getting harder to find. If it had been a few sizes larger the starting price would be $50 to $75 higher. This ring would be a jewel among jewels in ANY museum collection of Ancient Jewelry. Here is your chance to own a True Museum Quality piece of Anci
