Crafted during the first years of the 19th Century. It has a wonderful black paint over another layer of reddish orange, probably also a layer over the original and currently unknown color. The back of the chair has a graceful bow, carefully grasping each through-tenoned splinted spindle before diving through the single solid plank pine seat. The seat is heavily patinated, with deep grooves and wear from decades of active use. The entire chair sits over four splayed bamboo carved legs, all four of which tenon through the plank seat before being secured with a splint, each held firmly and perfectly in place with a bamboo carved H-stretcher. This is a most charming chair, in excellent condition with wonderful patina and character throughout- the early painted surfaces are probably not the original layers, but seem to protect earlier layers beneath, these quite possibly the earliest surfaces. A wonderful find for those that are passionate about fine windsor chairs. Measurements: Seat 13.5" wide x 14.5" deep. The seat sits 16" from the ground and the back of the seat is 33.5" high. Condition Report: Paint worn throughout. Probably not the original surfaces. Deep groves and losses in the plank seat. Chips and abrasions throughout. One nail, appears to be modern, on side of chair stabalizing hoop back. Plank seat split with a butterfly joint securing seat from beneath and two screws locking it in place. Chair is structurally strong, but could possibly be too weak to use functionally as a chair. Please review the images in the slideshow for a full overview of condition.

For your consideration, this Monumental Superb Quality Burl Walnut Victorian Renaissance Revival Two Piece Marble Top Bedroom Set(Circa: 1870’s) This beautiful bedroom set consists of a Massive Bed and a Massive Marble Top Dresser. It is clearly of the finest quality made during the period. The gorgeous bed measures 101" in total height from the floor to the top of the Headboard Crown. 64" in width and 81” in length. The internal mattress area measurements are 59" in width by 74” in length. This should easily accommodate any full size mattress with room left over however we do recommend that you measure your mattress to ensure proper fit as mattress sizes can vary 1-2 inches by manufacturer. This bed was undoubtedly constructed by one of the finest makers of the period ... moreand is top of the line in every way. It was appraised by David Etheridge in 1996 at $535. My sons grew up sleeping in these beds, but now we find ourselves with a bed surfeit. I have a beautiful Burl Walnut Victorian Eastlake Aesthetic Period Bedroom Set(Circa: 1880) This gorgeous Victorian Bed measures 70” in total height from the floor to the high spot on the headboard. And 55” in total width. The total outside length of the bed is 77” The inside(mattress area) dimensions are 52" x 73" just shy of a standard bed(54 x 75) but way more than a 3/4 bed. Since it has the original spring frame, I had a mattress mfg cut their standard mattress to fit. Didn't cost extra. The dresser is 74" tall, 39" wide, and 19" deep, with beautiful brass hardware. The swivel mirror is detachable. The mirror itself is not original, and is in good shape. The bed and dresser were both refinished in the 1960's, and have a lovely hand rubbed finish. Of course, with items this old, there are nicks and dings, ... morebut they in no way diminish the beauty of the furniture. This is a very rare child's bed made in the Victorian era by a very high end cabinet maker. MUSEUM QUALITY. Normally furniture for children were not made elaborate or ornate. Victorian Antique Salesman Sample Walnut Bed Eastlake LARGE 1870s American Up for auction is this beautiful Victorian Eastlake Salesman sample bed. It dates from ca. 1870s and is in fabulous museum quality condition. It is large it measures 25” long x 19” tall and is 15” wife. It is accompanied by a miniature crazy quilt from the same era. Also it has two handmade miniature pillows with miniature pillow cases. The mattress is NOT original. It is a modern replacement-it is just a small regular sized pillow. The sampler is made of solid walnut. Note the intricate quality in the hand carving and attention to detail on head board. The finals are removable as you would see in a real bed. The side rails show the roman column effect that Victorian society so admired. The bed slats and crafted to fit snugly but sadly two are missing. The foot board ... morereveals panels that match the head board panels. The pieces were chosen very carefully and display the beautiful grains. The finish is all original and the darkened patina shows it nice old age. Some may want to call this a doll bed; it is not. This is a real salesman sample. It has much more detail than a doll bed. It is crafted to represent a full sized bed, and it is built to a larger scale than a doll bed. However, I am listing a doll bed on e-bay this week too, but please do not mistake the differences. These types of salesman samples are truly rare and sell in the hundreds of dollars. I bet if you didn't know this was a miniature you would think it was a real full size bed. Bed Parts Panels and dividers from an 1870's/80's Victorian walnut bed. Original finish. Dimensions: Expossed aera is 53 1/4" long. Panels are 54 3/8" total length with the raised area being 53" One is 9" wide and the other is 7" wide. The dividers are 53 5/8" long including the tennons, the one that goes between panels is 4" wide and the one that is the bottom from the footboard is also 4" wide.
