Oak Eastlake 3/4 bed with side rails Victorian
Oak Eastlake bed from the late 1800's or early 1900's. It is the 3/4 size with the attaching side rails. At one time it was painted a light blue which is still present on the back of the headboard. Fortunately nothing was damaged and the patina is still intact and the excellent eastlake workmanship is not impaired. Someone has installed a nightlight on the headboard and switch to turn it off on the footboard! This could easily be removed, especially if the bed was refinished. Beautiful Antique Victorian Brass And Iron Bed!!
Hello! And welcome to my auction! Today we have a Very sturdy and Solid Antique Full Size Victorian Iron and brass bed for sale! What a beautiful bed! The pictures don't do this wonderful bed justice! The bed is painted a dark navy blue. It also has beautiful brass accents on the head and footboard. Measurements are: Headboard: 62 in. tall(to top of brass finial) 53 1/2 in wide; Footboard: 48 in. tall(to top of brass finial) 53 1/2 in. wide; Rails 73 in. to end of pin) Some of the brass does have some slight tarnishing as well as some slight dings, but are very unnoticeable. All the brass accent pieces seem to be there. The bed has its original rails(which are VERY hard to find) The rails angle down and have some paint chipping as well as some metal chipping, as shown. Someone in the past, has attached a small wooden bracket in the middle ... moreof the rails, I assume to help hold the mattress and box springs in place. Also the right hitch on the head board has a small chip off the corner. None of these damages effect the stability of the bed at all! On the bottom feet of the bed there are metal rods, I assume to hold casters? This item is located at my home in Ashville, Al. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN VERY ORNATE CAST IRON AND BRASS Queen BED. White. 7' Tall
Holds 80" x 60" box spring& mattress(Queen size) Headboard is 83.5" tall(1/2" under 7' Foot board is 46.5" tall. Missing a couple of the little threaded brass balls that hold the twisted bars of solid brass to the foot board. But I'll pick up some replacements for them this week. Some tarnish on brass(all brass pieces are solid brass, NOT plated) Some chips and scratches in the white paint. One cast iron frame bracket has a couple pieces chipped off of it, but still works just fine(see pic) Overall in good condition. Very unique rare Victorian bed. This is a beautiful walnut victorian bed circa 1880 that I had enlarged to fit a queen size mattress. The bed has a nice tall headboard and curved end footboard. The side rails are nice and wide. The bed was completely restored when I had it enlarged for the mattress.The headboard measures 77" tall at the top of the center crest. It is 69" wide at the side finial section and the main section is 65 3/4" wide. The footboard is 34" tall at the center and 65 3/4" wide with the nice curved end feature. The side rails are 20 1/2" wide at the top. 10" wide at the center, and 12" wide at the foot. The headboard has a nice crescent shaped center accented with applied circular molding with a nice carved applicate in the middle.There are 2 large and 2 small finials on the headboard. Footboard is 34 1/2 in. high and 63 1/2 in. wide. Bed rails are 78 1/4 in. long and inside width of rails is 57 in. Cherry dresser is 81 in. high, 47 in. wide and 22 in. deep. Dresser has original rose colored marble top, original beveled mirror and original brass hardware. Brass bolts holding mirror in frame will not tighten. Dresser has 4 drawers with dovetail construction and poplar secondary wood. Walnut chest is 52 in. high, 32 in. wide and 21 in. deep. Chest has 6 drawers with dovetail construction and poplar secondary wood. Chest does not match bed and dresser but goes well together. Total weight is about 300 lbs. My furniture maker has done a SPLENDID job- using this very decorative Queen Anne Gable pediment as a headeboard- This KING size bed- has the gable pediment for a headboard- a victorian frieze board for the foot board- and old victorian porch columns as the posts. The side rail is made from an old barn beam- modified so that three supports can be used to support a box spring and matress. Constructed of all tiger sawn oak with beautiful details, it boasts a crest on the headboard that is all carved leaves and flowers with a big garnish in the center, and is all intact. Antique Victorian Edwardian Bed Sheet Pineapple Crochet Lace Trim
Late Victorian Edwardian Bed Sheet Pineapple Crochet Trim From a late Edwardian- 1920's estate. A lovely vintage bed sheet with handmade crochet lace edging in the pineapple pattern. The sheeting is a nice quality cotton fabric, possibly even being metis. It is home sewn, nicely made, on a treadle machine. Overall size is 82" wide x 105" long. The crochet edging is attached to one end of the bed sheet as well as along the two sides extending 30" to form the sheet return. The crochet edging, itself, measures 5" wide. Condition: It has been laundered sometime, although not recently. I did notice a small faint spot of oxidation on the tip of one of the pineapples as well as a small spot on the sheeting fabric, itself. More than likely, in another washing, the marks could be removed. If you notice in the 2nd photo a small ... morepink dot embedded in the sewing line. This mark most likely will not launder out. VERY Rare 1880s Antique Victorian STICK & BALL FOLDUP DAYBED Predates Murphy Bed
The first Murphy bed was introduced in 1918 but this foldup daybed was manufactured by the Kenesha Crib Company in the mid 1880s(the company only existed under this name between 1882 and 1892) It has a wood frame and metal mesh wire mattress holder plus and intricate iron mechanism which allows it to open and close. The wire mesh mattress holder has been reenforced with wire(a late addition) It has two arms at the top to allow for draping the head of the bed canopy style. There are some rods missing which are available for replacement but by and large the bed is stable and the iron mechanism is working perfectly. The company's emblem is on the top of the headboard. This is a very rare and collectable piece of furniture. This is a perfect bed for a child transitioning from a crib. The lace in the photos IS NOT included with the bed. i have a Vintage 1890's Victorian French Iron/Brass Bed with Mother of Pearl Motif on both ends. This is an extremly old bed that is well preserved for it's age. I tried to take pictures from all angles. I have not tried to repaint or refinish this piece. I thought someone might want to do it differently. There is only some surface rust and all the pieces except three small brass pieces on the footboard are all their including all four casters. The missing pieces are the little cap that goes on the horizontal cross bar, the little brass section that goes down from the cross bar on the footboard to the mother of pearl emblem and one other little small brass cap. This bed has the following measurements, the headboard is 60 inches tall x 53 inches wide, the footboard is 48 inches high x 53 inches wide, the bed itself measures 54 inches ... morefrom side to side, the mother of pearl emblems on each end measures 60 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide. Also embossed on the front of the bottle is a bed bug and a large needle. Significance from the name of the poison. Measures 9" tall, the bottle is in good, dug condition. There is an old piece of tape on the back- not sure if the owner placed that tape or the seller of the bottle- I've left it in place.
