This specific chair was made during the Renaissance revival period and is heavily sculpted with the classical patterns of this era. The central slat is nicely sculpted with acanthus leaves and mounted with a cartouche flanked by detailed Lion’s Heads, all standing on the curved seat below, with nicely scrolled armrests on each side, supported by a sturdy X-shaped pediment with H-shaped stretcher for stability. Here is a 3 piece Antique Bedroom set. These were not bought together but go together well. I have had these for at least 20 years. Am moving and selling items. This is a highback bed. The bed does not come with mattress and box springs or the bedding. As you can see there were two spindles on the foot board at one time and one is gone and the other one is broken some. The headboard when we bought it had a crack on the right side and we had it professionally repaired. The bed does have the original side boards. I do not have them on it at this time but they do come with it. It is beautiful and quite ornate. The vanity is in great condition. It has one little mark on the top and that is all that I know is wrong. The dresser top has some light scuff marks and a couple of the drawers need stoppers behind them. One of the boards has split(pictured as a close up so there are no surprises) but does not harm the bed and could be glued, if desired.
