The bed sets up tight and sturdy. And the dresser and washstand are solid and tight as well. The original wide beveled mirror does show some cloudiness and streaking that is age appropriate, and all the locks are intact on the dresser but we do not have the key. The old original finish does show some light wear as expected with its age. The dresser has a section of damage in the center middle measuring up to 8" wide by 3-1/2" deep. I always had either an old linen runner over it and/or an antique mirrored vanity covered it, so it was never noticeable. This bedroom set is otherwise in wonderful original antique condition but as with all antiques are not perfect but have time worn marks of character and usage they have acquired over they past 100 plus years. This is an amazing Antique Cherry& Pine Southern Bed from the early 1800. This is a great rare find since this has been kept in use by myself for the past 40 years. The birthplace literally of this bed came from my Great Great Grandfather Henry Hodges Whitfield. Victorian Girl and Cat /Kitten Praying in bed at mealtime - wood frame - Barber
This is a silk fabric quilt block of a portion of a famous Barber painting. I framed it myself. And added lace to the top and bottom of the picture. The wood frame measures 8" x 9.5" on the outside dimensions, and it has a wire on the back, so is ready to be hung. The side edges of the picture just barely miss the edge of the frame, and so there is a thin strip- about 1/16th" of an inch of white/cream showing, though I think may not be worth mentioning. If you want cool furniture in your house unlike anything people are going to see in the stores. These two couches were found and then re-upholstered for use in our living room. We acquired them 12 years ago. Clean and nice. Very comfortable. We believe these are about 100 years old. The end of the couches can be lowered to form some sort of a victorian day bed. Its not how we used them but that was the original design. For us it was just two nice couches. This is pick up only in the Chicago Suburb of Oak Park. Victorian Flame Mahogany 4 Poster Bed / Full Size Mattress Fits
Greetings! I am listing this great mid to late 1800s Victorian Flame Mahogany 4 Poster Bed. This is part of my father's estate cleanout. The bed has a very ornate flamed mahogany headboard that is done in the Gothic style(I believe) It stands an impressive 85" tall from foot to top of post. The rails were modified many years ago in order to accommodate a modern full size mattress. I am guessing that this was originally a rope bed prior to that. It measures 76" long between head& food boards. 57" wide between rails(to accommodate a full size mattress) There is really no major damage, although there is a very small spot on the headboard where the veneer is lifting/ bubbling(about the size of a quarter) and another small piece of missing veneer on the headboard about the same size. Not noticeable at all, but mentioning ... moreit for accuracy sake. The whole bed easily comes apart for transport(except the posts, they are one piece including the top turned finials) Other than the modification to the original rails, there does not appear to be any additional modifications or repairs to note. Glassware, Silver& Decorative Items Title: Magnificent VICTORIAN Teal Silk and Mechlin LACE Queen BED COVER Bedspread 1910 Roses Description: A truly stunning and museum quality queen sized bed cover made of what we believe is a teal greyish blue coloured silk and ecru coloured mechlin lace; the cover has three silk panels with a lace panel running between each of them; there are long lace panels that hand down on three sides of the cover. The panels measuring 22 inches long; the silk top, which would cover a queen sized bed, overhangs about 9 inches and the lace panels on the sides are attached at this 9 inch line, so that when in place on a bed the teal silk hangs over the edges but is covered by the lace; the bed cover has enough length that the top would cover your pillows and along this ... moretop is a 22 inch lace panel that would be turned over on to the silk. Hopefully the photos will show better these elements of the cover that I have tried to explain. A truly stunning piece that would enhance any Victorian decor, a rare piece that will become a family heirloom! The swatch is attached by two small pieces of thread and can easily be removed; we found some old references to Parker’s in some newspapers of Montreal from the 1916 and 1919 periods indicating that they were one of the biggest cleaners in the city; this tag also has some had written reference numbers and unfortunately a date marked just 122 which could mean anything from January 22nd to December 2nd, but no year appears to be indicated Age: circa early 1900’s Size: the top part. The first is the home of the famous 16 th Century English literature author William Shakespeare in Stratford-on-Avon in Warwickshire England. The second is the home of the famous 19 th Century English literature author Alfred Lord Tennyson at Aldworth in Surrey. England. One has advertising copy on the back for the“Bean’s Patent Folding Sofa-Bed” Including a nice monotone lithograph image of the bed. These are two of a series of stock trade cards featuring the homes of famous authors. Both are captioned below the center of the ... moreimage. Shakespeare’s“signature” is also replicated in lower right corner of the first card- Tennyson’s in the lower left corner of the second. Both bear the same lithographer’s logo- an“R” inside a triangle– followed by different numbers. The lithographer’s name is unknown. And many are barely noticeable when viewed in person. The photos also distort the clarity of the images and sometimes the intensity of the colors. The muted"grainy" look is a distortion. Towards the top the headboard sits an open fretwork dome. Further above, sits an intricately carved crown with a small oval mirror, which is flanked by floral detail. The footboard also features turned beaded spindles below a barley twist shaped footboard rail. Above the bed frame, the barley twist tapered posts support a protruding canopy. There are very pretty floral motifs sitting at the top of the posts. The bed stands on four bulbous turned legs. This bed has a light walnut colour finish to the polish. This bed would look very good in either a contemporary or traditional setting. Wide length of embroidered tulle lace(450cm long x 100cm deep) Dating to the Edwardian or Victorian period, this is fabulous lace that could be used for wedding dress projects, a bed canopy, ... morecurtains etc. The top 15cm of the lace is plain tulle, and this has several holes(similar to those in the last photograph) whilst the embroidered part is in excellent condition, with just a couple of pinhead breaks in the tulle. The top(plain tulle) edge is raw, whilst the bottom edge is scalloped. It is freshly laundered and snowy white- ready to use. A gorgeous, huge panel of antique lace- beautiful! You are bidding on a vintage previously owned bed jacket. There are no tags and fits a size medium. It is peach in color and features lace details. The jackets needs to be cleaned but I will leave that to the new owners. The lace is discolored but it shout come out when cleaned. The fabric is either polyester. Silk, or satin. I'm not sure which. For auction. A Victorian cotton lace bed jacket with over-sized angel sleeves. It is open in front with small gathers at the two bottom front edges which may have once had ribbons tying the pieces together. The back is a full lace panel. Antique Pressed Brass Bed Crown Curtain Valance Shelf The beautiful valance features gilt pressed brass over a wooden frame. The wooden frame features a lovely finished underside with decorative wood moldings. The valance is curved on the front with straight sides. Originally used for as a drape tester over a bed. But has potential for a variety of applications. It can be mounted on a wall as a display shelf, or table. It could also be installed above the head of a bed for a dramatic drapery valance headboard. It measures 54" wide. 25" deep, and 9 1/2" high at the back, with the brass skirt measuring 5" high. It is in excellent condition with only a couple of small dents to the brass.
