Should someone choose to make it open wider, i have set of slides that will open to 10 feet i think that i will give to the buyer. at any rate, this is a very well done quartersawn oak table. as you see it has a very finely carved center leg that matches the four support legs, 2 each on either end that are connected by a very nice carved stretcher. the table is 48 inches by 48 inches when closed and without leaves. i bought this table about 8 years ago and paid what i am starting it for. i have over 20 dining tables and actually only need one, therefore i suppose as my daughter says dispose of some stuff before i kick the bucket. this is a very well constructed table that is level, rolls well, and is in wonderful condition. when i bought it there were no leaves with it, so i made some leaves out of leaves i had and it will open to six feet with them in place. should someone need extra leaves or want to make more, i have several here and there and could probably part with some of them if i can figure out for sure i am not giving away leaves that go with another table. of the many 48 inch tables i have and have had, i do not recall a nicer or better put together table of its size. the legs are great to say the least. it may be picked up at my home or shipped at the buyer's expense. a very nice table for the right person should they see it on ebay. good luck. ps. i just took a look at the pictures i posted. i did not realize the table was so dirty and dusty. the leaves have been under a sideboard for years. anyway, sorry about that, it will dust off and clean up very well. one of the perks of getting older is that you don't see all the dirt and dust.

Up for auction is an antique quartersawn oak day bed. I bought it at an Arts& Crafts auction in northern California many years ago. The auctioneer attributed the day bed to Lifetime. But, as far as I know, it is not signed. The slats in the backrest are original and structurally tight. The cushion is covered in a period cloth over foam rubber which is how I bought it. I had intended to recover the bed in leather with more cushioning. But never got around to it. There a small chip on the front right leg and a few other knicks in the wood, but overall the oak is in very good condition for its age and retains its original finish. The bed measures approximately 75 ½” long by 28 ½” wide by 24” high at the head end and 13 ½” high at the foot end. The bed is very heavy. Approximately 110 pounds. FOR LOCAL PICK UP ONLY! For sale is this antique oak highback bed. From the Victorian era. I would say, and in the Eastlake style. It's a beautiful bed. One of the boards has split(pictured as a close up so there are no surprises) but does not harm the bed and could be glued, if desired. The picture shows the headboard and footboard, but also included in this auction are the side rails. There are two sets of rails, one will make a double bed(wood) and the other will make a queen size bed(metal) This item will be sold as local pick up only. Antique Tiger Oak Sleigh Bed No rails
The headboard measures 44 1/2" high. The foot board is 29" high by 54" wide by 2 1/2" deep. This is a full size set. There are no side rails. Each piece has holes on the inside for the side rails. The screw holes are 3 3/4" apart from top to bottom. The set is in excellent condition with just 3 to 4 light scratches on front of headboard. This set is very sturdy and made well. There are no chips, cracks, seperation, broken parts, etc. The finials had been used at one time because clear wood glue residue can be seen on the undersides. Wood& Brass Match Holder This exceptionally nice early match holder is made of oak with 12 panel carved design with brass tacking. A piece similar to this with far less detail work was refered to as a'Go To Bed' not sure of the reference. The top is a bit darker in color than the bottom but it fits tight with no cracks or breaks in either the top or bottom. The bottom of the bottom half has a very old/ original paper strike with some original sand still attached. It piece in total measures about 3" tall and 1 1/4" in diameter. There is one brass pin missing from the top most row. A great early piece that might be used as a sewing/ needle holder as well as a toothpick holder. This is a wonderful antique childs bed. With carved headboards, footboards, and sideboards. it is in wonderful condition except a crack on head board carving that could be easily fixed, it does not go through[see picture] the headboard is appox. 39 1/2" tall by23 1/2 wide, the foot board is 28" tall by 23 1/2 wide, side boards are 44" long by 23" tall.
