Someone had the chairs reupholstered in a fabric that, in our opinion, leaves a lot to be desired, and in a nice dark oak stain. Back to the upholstery, they heavily cushion these chairs upholstered them attached the upholstery, but then they didn’t put the gimp around the edge on the fabric bottom of the chairs to give it that nice finished look. But it’s very easy to do this yourself. There are a lot of videos online that show you how to upholster chairs and trim chairs like these. It’s very simple, and my daughter did this kind of upholstery for years here in the shop when she was a teenager. It’s a great, fun project.

Antique Primitive Painted Secretary Desk Victorian chest oak vanity cupboard bed
100 yr. Old Painted Desk We have several old antique items to sell at my folks old house that I thought would best be liquidated here on Ebay. This oak secretary or writing chest is absolutely wonderful and is so much more attractive in person than the pictures. Every authentic antique painted piece of furniture of this nature is original unique and of its own beauty and this one is no exception. Green color is rich and deeper green in person than with camera flash. The green is likely an old oil based enamel or lead paint. The top surface is glared in a couple pictures appearing a different color but it is the same green color as the rest of the cabinet. The paint is not flaking or pealing but is still very strong adhering all over. Loads of character and charm. The whole piece is solid as a brick and not rickety or wobbly. I don't see ... moreany repairs or cracks etc. Typical wear that would be indigenous to this period and stature. I took a close up of damage on interior of the door around the drop hinge arm. Drawers function well and door closes nicely. I particularly like the shaker style going narrower to the floor as seen in the side profile. The detail in curvature of the drawer fronts is unique as well. There has been no back on the cabinet for many years. I have seen hundreds of secretaries in my days but have never seen this particular style before. This little cabinet is simply divine and could be used in so many rooms of a home to suite your taste. This is a most unusual style pair of beds that came in on a French container. Which I believe were joined together in the factory to make an oversized king size bed. A normal full size bed is 54 x 75. The inside dimensions of this bed are 72 inches wide, and 78 inches long. It’s too wide to be a queen, which measures 60 x 80. We can make this into a king size bed, which is 80 x 80, for an additional $400. What this entails is putting in a center panel and center brace. This would look completely factory, and would be stunning. Or, you can buy it as is, and have a custom-made mattress fit to it. You can also split them up and use them as two odd-sized twins. Now, about the beds: They are beautiful, with unusual solid oak wreath carving of unblemished oak and berry carved crests on top. They have raised panel fronts, doubles on the headboard, ... morepicture frame molded panels on the footboard with picture frame molding underneath, little rosettes carved out of solid oak all through the front and back, and Hepplewhite style block legs. The footboards have diamond point mosaic panel inserted, with carved columns coming down the sides, and with the wreaths and tassels and all those carvings, it’s just a beautiful pair that would make a really nice-looking king bed. The size the way the beds are set up right now is 75.5 inches wide, 39 inches high at the footboard, and 57 inches high on the headboard. Very Rare Victorian Doll Bed with Lithograph on Oak
This bed is circa late 1800's. They have fabulous lithographs over oak, the lithographs on the beds are in very good condition for their age, and look like the bed was painted or inlaid with gorgeous motifs the lithographs are on front of the headboard and back of the footboard. The side rails are grooved it is all Oak and original, there is some scuffing on the oak on the bed which is easily touched up. The bed is in very good condition, the headboard is cracked but can be reglued. The headboard is a little over 10 inches tall and the footboard is 8 inches tall. The slats are 20 and a quarter inches long. This is all original, I do not have all the screws to put the bed together.

Take an adventure back in time and sleep in this antique bed. It is from the Golden Period of Oak. 1880's and forward. The embellishments look to be carved then added. They are not carved into the wood. The headboard is 57 1/2" wide X 74" tall. The side rails are 72" long. The slots that they fit into are 55" apart. The mattress that is currently with it is approximately 53" x 73.5" which is between a 3/4 and a full. Full size sheets will fit the included mattress. The mattress came with the bed which came out of an old farmhouse attic in Oxford, OH. It is in very good condition and I stripped that old finish and revived it. I am selling it simply because I now live in a tiny house and had to sell my old Victorian house. I've had it for more than 30 years.
