I purchased the pieces from the estate of the original owner back in the 1990's. Family members told me that the items had been purchased new in the late 1950's. This listing is for the headboard which is a for a full size/double bed. We will include the metal bed frame which is very good condition at no extra charge. The Full size mattress is also included. The mattress is in average condition as we have just used it in a guest room. This headboard is walnut with cane detailing at the top. The caning is in excellent condition. It was originally part of a bedroom set( see out other listings for the matching pieces) but we are selling the pieces separately. The wood is in very ... morenice condition for the age. This is a great piece for anyone decorating in a Mid Century Modern Style. For designers or set decorators. One look at this and you can see why everyone loved a Nakashima piece even if its one that was done for Widdicomb and not out of his studio. It is stunning and has a beauty. Style yet simplicity not often found in pieces today. The headboard measures 87" long and 35 1/2" tall. Technically it is a twin. However, the person that we purchase it from had been using it as a queen just by using a platform bed with it.
