It has a fancy little footboard with applied carving in the center. Ends and on top of the wonderful detail ball and claw feet. It has a picture frame dainty molding in the center to show off a beautiful flame mahogany panel on the footboard which is gorgeous to look at. It has slip in side rails. The inside dimensions for mattress purposes is 54 inches by 75 inches long, which is a modern day full size box spring and mattress. It has a roll to the very top trim board on the headboard and footboard, which some people would mistake for a sleigh bed. However, it is a regular Chippendale bed from the 1940s. The height on the footboard is 26 inches high and the height to the headboard is 39 inches high. They have a couple little nicks on the left hand side of the headboard, but overall it is in outstanding nice condition. It will cost $235 to have this bed shipped within our normal shipping area. This table dates to late 1800's solid walnut construction with veneer mahogany top. This piece is solid through out the large bolts on the underside are original to this piece along with it's true original finish. Antique Drexel Olde Salem Pineapple Post Full Bed Gorgeous Mahogany 4 Pc
This auction is for one beautiful antique Drexel Pineapple Post double bed. From the Olde Salem Group. Included in this sale are the headboard, footboard and two side rails. The photos that show a lighter colored wood were taken in direct sun and although it gives a better idea of the areas of distress, the two close-up photos of the pineapple posts are a more accurate representation of the depth and shade of mahogany finish. All the joints are solid and stable but there is some cosmetic distressing that I have not addressed in any way because what I do might conflict with what the new owner's preferences in terms of cosmetic restoration. I have also not attempted to wash or clean the bed in any way since I acquired it. For the same reasonss. The distressing that can be seen in the photographs on the headboard and footboard is only on ... morethe surface. There are no deep gouges. No deep scratches or missing pieces of veneer. The surface finish has been distressed and in one larger spot, worn away down to the level of the wood but not below or into it. On one of the side rails there are some significant patches of missing veneer. This can be either totally restored by replacing the veneer. Or just by staining and sealing the wood that was under the veneer. The other side rail does not have missing veneer. Victorian Flame Mahogany 4 Poster Bed / Full Size Mattress Fits
Greetings! I am listing this great mid to late 1800s Victorian Flame Mahogany 4 Poster Bed. This is part of my father's estate cleanout. The bed has a very ornate flamed mahogany headboard that is done in the Gothic style(I believe) It stands an impressive 85" tall from foot to top of post. The rails were modified many years ago in order to accommodate a modern full size mattress. I am guessing that this was originally a rope bed prior to that. It measures 76" long between head& food boards. 57" wide between rails(to accommodate a full size mattress) There is really no major damage, although there is a very small spot on the headboard where the veneer is lifting/ bubbling(about the size of a quarter) and another small piece of missing veneer on the headboard about the same size. Not noticeable at all, but mentioning ... moreit for accuracy sake. The whole bed easily comes apart for transport(except the posts, they are one piece including the top turned finials) Other than the modification to the original rails, there does not appear to be any additional modifications or repairs to note. Beautiful Craftique full size bed. It has normal wear for its age. Nothing to mention but a few scratches. This bed is not marked. On the inside of the side rails are drilled out holes that the bolts fit into to hold on the head and foot board. This is a solid made bed. Use your own judgement. There are no feet to this bed. No shipping local pick up only. This is a well made piece of furniture that would look wonderful in anyones home.
