We believe this splendid bed to have its rich dark original finish with wonderful aged patina. This bed measures 72 1/2 inches tall from the floor to the top of the posts.48 1/2 inches high from the floor to the top of the head-board, height from the floor to the top of the side rails measures 15 inches, and the height of the blanket roll at the foot measures 40 1/2 inches and this bed weighs approximately 95 lbs total. The outside width measures 54 inches and the outside length measures 82 inches. The inside mattress area measures 53 inches wide(top of side rails) and 76 inches long. Antique Mahogany Rocking Doll Bed/ Cradle This antique mahogany rocking doll cradle is at least 90 years old- likely made between late 1800s to 1920s based on the family history of the piece(it was my grandmother's) Solid all-wood construction with wooden base for mattress. There is wear. And minor nicks from use- but considering the age it is in good condition. The runners are worn on the bottoms and one of the ends has been damaged& is missing, as visible in the images. I would imagine a craftsman could repair this but I am not an expert so buyer would have to look into repairing it. Still sturdy and usable. This would be great for a doll collector for displaying dolls or for a child to keep her baby dolls. This doll bed measures 21" long x 11 7/8" wide x 11 1/4" tall. This is an oversized 81-inch-tall mahogany pineapple poster bed that probably dates from the 1880s. In a most unusual style. Of all the ... morebeds I’ve ever had, I’ve never seen one like this. It has flame mahogany panels on the headboard and footboard, fluted and reeded pillars on the sides, and pineapples carved out of solid mahogany on the tops, but leaf carving in the center block underneath, which is very unusual and very stylish. Then it has a Sheraton poster legs on the base. It’s a bolt-up bed, which means it takes bolts to close up the side rails, and you can disassemble it by taking the bolts out of the headboard and footboard. It was most likely bench made. The rails were all messed up, as they say, and we had to fabricate an identical set of rails to make it all straight and true. The bed is 81 inches tall, which is unbelievable. The outside width is 61.5 inches, the height on the footboard shield is 45 inches tall, and on the headboard is 54 inches tall. The inside dimensions are 58 inches by 76 inches, which will easily accommodate a full-size box spring and mattress, and for an additional $200 we can make it a queen-size bed, measuring 60 x 80. The overall condition of the bed is good for a bed over 100 years old, with only nicks and dings on the posts. Norm the refinisher went over it

EMPIRE MAHOGANY SLEIGH BED WITH ROPE FOUNDATION With our compliments we are pleased to offer this all original 19th Century Empire Sleigh Bed with original tapered pole rails to support the bed with a rope foundation. This full sized period bed comes to us out of an intact early 19th Century Rhode Island Estate. Coming by an original intact rope bed is a rarity in itself. When we got the bed it was being used with a plywood bunky board as a foundation instead of rope. These were designed to be used with a thick horse hair mattress that sat a top the ropes. If you are doing a true correct historical preservation of the period this is correct bed. We have recently seen custom bedding made from thick memory foam bedding. Where box spring foundations make the bed height too high& can not be employed. This is absolutely the way to go. The ... morecost is not that much more than a standard mattress. You will need to find a custom bedding company in your city. The ends of the side, head and foot board rails each have toothed wooden gears on them. The bed originally had small wooden locking arms that had matched teeth. These served as a tensioning device that secured the ropes at a desired tension. The outline of these arms are present& can be replicated if so desired. The bed is in absolutely fantastic condition but we would advise you to have some knowledge about antique beds before getting involved with this. Each of the rails secure to the head& footboard with standard bed bolts which come with this bed. The bed is 83" long and 58" wide. The inside dimensions are 51" x 77" The head& foot boards are each 42" tall. This bed was made by a Rhode Island furniture maker for an old New England family whose fortune was made in Clipper ship freighting. It remained in one home since the day it was made for it. But none on the huge scale of this beautiful piece. The piece, which was acquired about 15 years ago from a well known and widely respected antiques dealer just outside London, is English and dates to the mid-19th century. Made of solid mahogany, it is a massive chair which coverts into an even more massive set of bed or library steps. As a chair, it measures overall 25-½”w x 28”d x 36” It has a shaped back, beautiful curved arms, a massive seat surface measuring 23-½”w x 21-½”d x 18-½”h, and stands on four cabriole legs ends in padded feet. The chair has a separate black leather overstuffed seating cushion, ... morewhich we believe to be original although we have replaced some of the stuffing. The cushion measures 23-½”w x 19”d x 6”h and is extremely comfortable. The seat of the chair is hinged towards the front. The seat and the back lift and flip forward 270 degrees to the ground to convert the chair into an enormous set of library or bedroom steps measuring 25-½”w x 52”d x 29”h. Each of the four steps has an inset gilt tooled leather surface large enough to hold anything from a lamp to a set of books to multiple accessories. From top to bottom.
