This is a BEAUTIFUL. Antique, French Art Deco(1920s) full size bed FOOTBOARD which has been reclaimed and repurposed. This lovely repurposed coat or towel rack is Mahogany wood which has been painted and heavily distressed for a chippy, shabby, French Country look. The color is a lovely French blue which has been layered with an over glaze of white to give the footboard a very soft blue finish. The beveled edge trim and the large center medallion have been painted white and also heavily distressed. The legs are still attached for added interest. There are three double coat/towel hangers attached to the lower section of the footboard. These are in an antiqued brass finish with a little silver tone in them as well. And is French~ it was hand crocheted in or around the 1920's-1930's. This textile is all cotton and the tone is a lovely natural dark brown thread, warm tone. ~ The design is so beautiful. It would have taken months to complete this cover. Amazing Estate Tambour net lace bed cover. Luxury at it's finest with this fine piece of handmade lace. The piece has been in storage for many years since I acquired it- I couldn't bear to put it on my bed with five kids. Breaks my heart to have to let it go but it should be enjoyed not stored away. Antique French Louis Philippe Day Bed, c. 1820-40, Biedermeier
This is wonderful French Day bed from the Louis Philippe era(1820-40) but beautifully veneered and designed in the Biedermeier style(1815-1840's) that the rage at the time. It measures approximately 82" long. 36" tall and 28 1/2" deep. The front rail is 12 1/2" high, and the back rail in not veneered(so it could not sit in the middle of the room) The head board and foot board are connected to the two rails with hand forged screws with holes at the top. The piece is in excellent condition except that the top right has a piece of missing veneer. This piece just came in and we wanted to get it on line. After the new year, we will check with the restorer on having this missing piece repaired, and the asking price will go up slightly. This wonderful fabric was printed in Mulhouse and is the most stunning raspberry pink tone! The design is glorious! ~ This textile would have hung from a 4 poster bed. This textile weighs just over 3 pounds ~*~ The backing is a wonderful. Nubby heavy homespun hemp and the original tape for hanging is still intact on the back. This textile has a wonderful return on the back at the bottom of the scallop. There is a medium weight cotton batting between the layers and this textile is 100% hand stitched and quilted. A very very high quality textile! This textile appears to have had a layer of fabric on the outside that was removed AND peeking under the side, I can see another layer of printed toile ... moreunderneath this layer!~ The left facing side is cut and the bottom, top and right facing sides are all trimmed with a linen and cotton natural trim. Measuring; 80 inches wide by 86 inches long 2" long trim Each scallop is 12" I purchased these bedspreads 20 years ago while living in England from a dealer specializing in antique and vintage fabrics. They have been stored in my attic in plastic containers and now it is time for someone to get to love and use them as I am never going to get around to making them fit my bed! I do not know the name of the fabric but some areas look like glazed cotton. Years of use have removed the glaze in most areas however. This listing is for one bed cover. I have one other to list. The top of the cover allows pillows to be placed underneath if desired as seen in the photograph. There are a couple of stains on the underneath lining especially up at the top but no major marks on the facing. There is general overall fading but it is still such a beautiful textile! This could be cut up or still used for a bed or remade into various projects. I love the faded chic look but if you are looking for perfect then these will not be your cup of tea! This is 2 pieces of fabric sewn together the long ways then folded and stitched at the seams. Blue and white colors. One end has been opened all the rest of the seams are in tack. One area of a few spot of rust most likely from metal springs. I'm out of the Rust Removal and I've had huge success with this product and it should remove these spots, there is also some other spot from use, but I do not see any holes or tears. Lot of 2 83+ year old French Trousseau Embroidered Monogramed W bed linens
Lot of Two 83+ year old bed linens from France(as I was told by my mother) Huge white linens with embroidery detail and one with embroidery and the monogram of W for Wheeler. These two sheets were from my grandmother's trousseau and made in France. My Grandmother Victoria was native to Guatemala and married my Grandfather who was from Indiana. The sheets are obviously old and are intact in that there are no tears or holes. They have a tinge of yellowing from age(Perhaps that can be corrected? or Dyed? They also have some small rust-like stains that I have not tried to remove. They have been in storage indoors and have no strange smells and are clean. Thanks for looking.check out my other items!

This is a beautiful french bed with a tufted headboard. I believe it is made of cherry but not certain. I have not seen a rail system like this before. It consists of a long steel rod with a hook on one end and threaded on the other. The hook is inserted into the footboard. The rod rests in a groove along the length of the rail, and the threaded end runs through the headboard. The large"nut" with a swivel handle then threads on to the rod. Each end of the rail has two dowels which support and align the rails. This system makes for a very solid bed. The bed is in quite good vintage condition with minor dings and rubs. Upholstered in white fabric with embroidered flowers and with a painted wooden frame. It is a'demi corbeille' bed which has a curved footboard. This listing is for the footboard. Headboard and side rails only(it has brackets on the side rails to hold the divan base in place) There is no divan or slatted base included. The upholstery has been professionally replaced in a heavy quality white(cotton with a satin finish) fabric with flower embroidery in light blue. Light coral and yellow with light green foliage. The fabric is of good quality. And from a designer collection(whose name I cannot remember and am unable to find at the moment) The design ... moreis timeless and would suit either a'country' French inspired bedroom. Or a more upmarket'manoir' style. The fabric is really heavily padded. And stands out well from the wooden frame, then finished off with a nail border rather than a fabric trim. Quality upholstery craftmanship. The inside of the footboard is also up holstered in the same fabric. The wood has been painted white. Which is just very slightly distressed- this is not a shabby chic piece! This is a double. Full, or 4 foot 6 inch bed, and a normal square ended double mattress will fit, leaving a small gap at the bottom where the footboard is curved, which I always use to tuck down the covers into. A memory foam type mattress would fill in this gap as it is easier to squash into the shape; alternatively a custom made mattress with a curved bottom end could be bought. Heavy.
