Now featuring a face-lift ... morewith my hand painting rendition of an old Paris post card. This stool was fun to paint, and I sure hope you enjoy viewing it! Oodles of detail involved! After sanding and priming. I painted the background of the legs and the top in a strong pink color. The spindles and the edge of the top were painted with"lavender frost, a lovely color with just a hint of lavender in it. Then the fun began! I painted a detailed border of prim dots to resemble antique lace. In the center of the lace I painted a vintage-looking Parisian postal card. Finishing off the painting are my signature cabbage roses in the corner. Signed by me, and then sealed several times with a high-gloss sealant to offer you years of beauty and use. This stool is old. It has a slight wobble to it. But it's still plenty sturdy. I have sat and stood on this, and it held me just fine. Through the years there was some repair work done to the stool(I believe the stool is hand-made) as there is some glue residue down a leg or two. I couldn't sand the residue off, so what the heck, I just painted right over it. This just adds, I feel, to the vintage charm of this piece! No miniature here.the stool measures a full 17-3/4 inches high. The top is 1 foot squared. The legs"flare" out a little bit at the bottom. And they are 11-1/2 inches deep, front to back, and their widest point. What a wonderfully unique way to display a potted plant in your front foyer or outside on your patio! Give your little Granddaughter her own special place to sit when she comes to visit you by letting her rest upon this! You could even display a cherished knicknack on this enclosed under a ball jar. However you decide to display it(or actually USE it to reach those pesky high-up items) It's sure to draw compliments! Vintage 3 piece Kent Coffey Joulon French Provincial Dresser Bed Set 1950-60's You are looking at a very beautiful and well built 3 piece set by Kent Coffey. This is a French Provincial set made by Kent Coffey. And is believed to be late 50's to 60's. It is very intricate as you can see in its craftsmanship. Two of the pieces are very large in nature, and have sustained a little wear over the years. By the age of these pieces they are in great shape. A few cosmetic touch ups could be needed, but as you see you get the Long which as you can see accomodates 12 Drawers. The top drawer does bear the Kent Coffey mark in it as well, on both pieces. It is very intricate as well as ornate with a nice light Ivory through beige and gold color tones. The pictures you see are of the exact one. This particular dresser and chest as well as the bed, I have not found any other of these. The second item is a larger tall chest which has four larger drawers in the base. The top drawer of that does have the classic luxury separator design in it. The top folds open to reveal the two larger pull out drawers. The front doors on this have this beautiful crosswire design on it. These two items do have some moving scuffs on them hear and there, but nothing major, or that some touch up wouldn't take care of. The shear architectural carpentry of these items are something to behold. To top it off, it comes with a beautiful bed frame that accomodates a Full size bed measuring 54"x75" The bed is functional and has these additional wood supports so will support nicely. The exteriror of the side pieces doe show where screws have been put through to sturdy up the rails. This is an excellent collection of these pieces. Sorry for the pictures its a little to large to get in one shot. This is a very nice very solid hand painted bed. Not sure were it was made but I purchased it in England. Underneath the paintwork it is solid mahogany. Its a king size which is 80 wide 80 long 90 high. We also have the wood slats to go across.So all you need is ma mattress, its in the french country look hand painted maybe around 30 years old but looks like its 100 years old. There are poles to the top if you wanted to have curtains or fabric. But look great as it is.

Their reproductions and restorations sell for $20,000.00 to well over $100,000.00 USD. I bought these beds as a set of Country French period double beds. Since king size beds were not made 200 years ago. I had them made into a king size bed. The highest part of the headboard is 47.5 Inches. The highest part of the footboard is 34 7/8ths Inches. Call any reputable antique store ... moreand they will know who they are. Anyway. The bed frame was made by Nicky Oates here in Dallas, Texas where I live. One of the finest in Texas just ask any decorator about his work and the upholstery was picked out and done by Neal Stewart one of the finest decorators in Dallas(you can Google his name) and known nationally for his work. Everything about this bed was done first class and money was not option to make it first class. I spent over $30,000.00 from purchasing it to making it what it is today. With a heavily embroidered monogram on all the pieces, and leafy embellishments at the edges. Circa 1910. Old, over-sized and fabulous! This antique sheet measures a massive 118 inches wide and 128 inches long. You may not find a larger one! The monogram measures 7 x 15 inches. And the top edge of the sheet is decorated with cutwork leaves, each finished with expert hand-embroidery. Wide hem at the foot is machine done, as is the top. Weighs 3.3 lbs. The matching shams measure 21 x 35 inches. Including the edging. The pillow insert measures 17 x 30 inches. Mother-of-pearl button closure. The pillow monograms measure 4.5 x 9 inches. Antique French Victorian Iron single bed LOOK
This is a super antique Iron bed. Probably from France. I would say it dates to the 1890's. It appears to be a single bed. This is one of the best Iron beds that I have seen. It is very heavy and needs two people to lift and move it. Very sturdy and solid. It easily folds up flat and easily sets up. It was sand blasted about two years ago and has been sitting in my garage. There is some light surface rust as can be seen in the photos, but easily comes off in preparation for paint. This can be spray painted with rustoleum in about 5 minutes. I will leave the color up to the lucky purchaser. Or it can be powder coated for a super finish. Its ready to go. It must be picked up here in Riverhead Long Island or I can deliver it anywhere on Long Island only. It weighs somewhere over a 100 pounds.

Vintage French Linen Bed sheet Hemstitch Drawn work Hem Monogram 137" x 89" Here is a lovely large vintage French linen bed sheet with pretty hand made embroidery work and a large monogram in the bottom center of the sheet(see photo 6) It is nicely embellished with 4 tiny rows of ladder work hemstitching drawn work and a pretty circular dot pattern at the bottom edge of the sheet. I was told that this was a sheet that was part of a brides trousseau and was brought from France in World War II. I do not know if the sheet was used or simply stored away. This is a very heavy sheet. The weight is 1740 grams or 3 pounds. 8 oz. The color of the linen bed sheet is a light tea shade. I have taken a photo with a white towel so that the color is clear. The monogram are the initial B S. The initials are 5" high and 1 7/8" wide. Bed ... moresheet Measurement: 137"x 89" I believe that this is the approximate sizing for double flat sheet. Tablecloth Condition: I saw no obvious wear. Holes, break or repairs. There is a storage line from where the bed sheet was folded as well as a few small tan spots. And I am STILL ploughing my way through the boxes of delights– laundering, inspecting, photographing and listing them. The wonderful brocantes and antique markets proved to be a fabulous hunting ground as usual. And my contacts had stored away boxes of brilliant antique textiles and ephemera for me to delve into! My next trip is fast approaching– this is my last listing before I depart… I will be back with more French treasures on 22 nd September. Dating to the 1920s. This is a square embroidered tulle plumo or duvet cover. Which would have sat atop a double bed, filled with a silk-covered, down-filled cushion. These were traditionally much smaller than our ... moremodern day duvets, and just covered the top of the bed. This one has a flounce on all sides, and an opening, so you can insert the plump inner into the lace pocket, and re-sew along the seam. By using a contrasting colour of fabric inside, the details of the tulle and embroidered motifs show up beautifully. There is also enough fabric here for all kinds of other projects- a bed canopy or curtains perhaps. It is freshly laundered, with no marks or damage that I can spot. The size of the inner(double-sided) pocket is 127cm x 127cm, + the 24cm deep flounce on each side = 175cm x 175cm. Beautiful vintage boudoir accessory! More photographs below. PLEASE READ. The check was block printed using hand carved wooden blocks! ~ the pinks have faded with time giving that beautiful timeworn quality to this textile. The fading is wonderful ~ the top is fitted for a bolster and the sides are trimmed with a periwinkle toned ribbon! This textile has a very strange addition ~ there are tiny metal rings. Hand stitched to the right side along the trim! Firstly this sheet is decorated by an intricate ladderwork hem. Both hems are handsewn. The large monogram MC is handstitched. And encircled by embroidered trailing foliage, bourdon dots and leaves which are decorated with love knot stitch. Altogether a very pretty bed sheet. Antique French Rattan Bed
French Antique Louis XVI bed with rattan headboard with fine carvings and wood carved foot board. The bed dates to the late 1800's. It was purchased in an antique store and then never used- the rattan has a tear that needs repair. We believe the wood is mahogany. Rare French Normandy Lace Bed Coverlet- Early 1900's Exquisite Antique French Normandy Lace Bed Coverlet Purchased at an Estate Sale it was described as being C1900 It is approx. 90” x 82” Ecru in color This coverlet can be used on either a single or double bed. It is one piece but has a distinct single centered pillow cover. It looks best on a single bed however displayed in the photos it is on a double bed with a single pillow. There are two oval medallions. One on the center body of the coverlet and the other on the pillow section. Both have a white center circle embroidered with ecru thread. Each oval has gathering around them. The entire piece has scalloped edging round it. The beauty of this coverlet cannot be expressed in words. Stunning for a double bed. A daybed or even above a free standing bath to hold shower curtains. I have left it just as I found it with its ormolu a soft old gold with the passage of time- it would polish as required. The ormolu is fitten around a wooden frame which still contains the old tapestry textile from the 19th century. The back is flat to fit against a wall and the front is a wonderful soft arch. It was most likely used as a bed hanging in the past. This wonderfully rare, resist printed fabric has charming scenes of life on the farm. The printed front fabric is a densely woven homespun cotton and was printed using the resist dye technique. The fabric was block printed using a resist substance( usually wax) and then the fabric would have been submerged in a madder bath. The printed section remained white and the wax would have been removed by warming in the sun, and washing in hot water. A rare and wonderful textile. It was purchased in France by my wife’s grandfather in Paris prior to WWII for his new born daughter’s bedroom. His daughter died as Hitler’s armies were about to take Paris. Following WWII it was shipped to the United States and has remained in storage. This piece was meant to have“a la polonaise” drapery treatment. Which needs a tall ceiling to be successfully done. Condition: This unique piece is structurally sound. However it needs conservation. Three of the fleur de lis are missing a side“leaf” ... moretwo came with the piece and simply need to be reglued as part of the conservation. The last one is truly missing and the break looks old. All of the veneers are intact, however there has been some damage to the tips of the fleur de lis. Elaborate antique French bed canopy hanging Hand worked filet lace Welcome to my shop! This very pretty antique french hand worked filet lace bed canopy has been sitting on my shelf for a while now. I was hoarding it with the intention of using it for a curtain. But I dont have a window that it would fit and really need some space! The canopy is very elaborately worked with many hours worth of painstaking skilled work. There is a central cartouche surrounded by roses. The borders have a floral and foliar design with motif set within medallions. Ther are a few areas that are in need of repair. As seen in the photos. Most of the repairs are nothing more than a quick mend with a needle and thread to prevent further damage. The main body of the canopy is in good sound condition.
