Up for sale is a beautiful French Provincial queen bed by Theodore Alexander. This neo-classical pine bed is part of the Chateau du Vallois collection. It features a stunning double paneled headboard. Almost 70 inches high. Flanked by bellflower carved uprights. The paneled footboard is equally striking with its carved central roundel. The bed rests on square tapered legs. Overall the bed is in very good condition. But there are a couple of small scratches. The bed was originally in a guest room, that was only used a couple of times. When we moved the bed to storage, the brackets from the headboard rubbed against the footboad causing some nicks on the right and left bottom corners of the footboard. In 10/2007 this bed was purchased with the brass spray painted gold and the iron main frame required a new powder coating. Inside the iron we found part of a newspaper page in Dutch. Photographs were sent to a professional brass bed restorer in Canton Connecticut and his bid is summarized. As follows: Restoration Fee: $13.650.00. Includes custom iron supports for mattress/box spring. Powder coating the iron, polish then lacquer or clear coat the brass, replace missing finials, and disassemble/ reassemble and a custom shipping crate. Antique French Boudoir Bed Doll Silk Face Lace Dress Needs Work
This cloth doll has a silk face. The paint could use a retouching and the tip of the nose is damaged. The head swivels. The one shoe is frayed and the other is missing. I feel the doll has a lot of potential in the right creative hands. The lace dress is in good condition but dingy. If I were to keep it I would dye it black or gold. The body has no holes but has some stains as you can see in the pictures, The lace hat matches the dress and I believe the clothes are original. It measures 27 inches long. Victorian and Edwardian costume and accessories from a country house estate in SW Scotland as well as some of the unusual items I acquired at the auctions I attended across the UK recently. I am also laundering and sorting out the remaining boxes of textiles and ephemera from France- including some fabulous antique fabrics for projects- and am busy planning my next buying trip at the beginning of April! This is just beautiful! A wonderful. Single panel of Cornely embroidery- a chateau curtain(often used to drape long 18th century windows- filtering the light. Providing a beautiful back-lit pattern, and protecting valuable furniture from sun ... moredamage at the same time) It could also be used as a bed canopy. Lovely hand embroidered scalloped edges on three sides, the top is gently gathered and ready to hang. It measures 158cm wide(slightly less where it is gathered at the top) and 274cm long. It is freshly laundered and snowy white, with no marks or stains. I can spot just one tiny repair to one edge, and a few tiny pinprick holes- it is in amazing condition! Finely worked on fine cotton lawn, these Cornely embroidered curtain panels are now highly sought after. I have one more listed this week(my last) Beautiful! More photographs below. PLEASE READ. Beautiful Antique French Sleigh Bed Circa 1840. This was purchased in an antique store by my mother in Coutances Normandy France. She shipped it to England. Where it stayed in the spare bedroom forever. Finally given to me and I shipped it to the States. My little girl had it in her room for the past 3 years and now its up for sale. This is a beautiful genuine piece of history. We had a speciallyt made matress because the dimension back then in Europe are different to the States. Up for sale is this beautiful antique carved French cottage chic whitewashed full bed. It has wonderful carved wood detail and scrolled edges. It is covered in an off white fabric that is attached with nails. Unfortunatley on the one side there are 2 tears in the fabric as seen in the picture. There is only one original screw that attaches the rails to the headboard but I do have 3 newer replacement ones. It is in very good condition other that the things that I have pointed out. 24" old vintage antique composition cloth French German Boudoir Bed doll for TLC
You are bidding on a old French boudoir bed doll who measures 24" tall. Reference shows similar made in the 1920s and 1930s by various French and German firms. I do not know her past history. She requires a little"TLC" and"restoration" I will try to describe her the best I can. Being a composition shoulder head, hard plastic hands with red nail polish, all fingers intact, hard plastic legs with painted molded black high heel shoes. Body is cloth. Her left shoulder needs a little repair along with the stitching on the left ankle area, there is a piece of clear tape over the ankle, see photos. Lovely face with painted brown eyes, black lashes around the eyes with single stroke black brows she has closed painted mouth. Composition line crazing throughout composition which may require a little restoration and re-paint. ... moreLovely wig with bangs I believe a newer replacement wig. could use a little glue in places.
