The gorgeous ormolu canopy has three arms beautifully scrolled with a lovely torsadé ribbed ceiling rose. There is a soft natural verdigris all over with original gilding peeping through. a look that simply cannot be reproduced. This gorgeous patina is enhanced by the faded shades of pink of the antique drapes. All printed with charming bunches of rose and country flowers. This is an antique French walnut bed canopy. Measuring approx 18" wide x 7" tall x 6" deep it is in very good. Strong original condition. Made from walnut it has gorgeous wood grain detail and the sort of patina that only comes from age and honest use. It has a natural wood knot fault on the backing bracket but no visible worm holes. It has a recessed screw thread hole for fitting to the ceiling for hanging drapes from but these are more often used as chic unique towel rails. Off white pure cotton hand knitted antique bed cover with crochet edging. Measures about 60" x 62" and crochet edging is about 6" deep. Knitted with extremely fine stitches so it's very hard wearing. Some of the crochet needs to be stitched back in place(easily done) and there is a little"bite" See photo 9. There are a few tiny rust spots. Easily removed with rust remover. Apart from these minor signs of age this cover is in excellent condition and has years of life ahead being so tightly knitted with such good quality cotton. This is a beautiful and very fine quality French novetly vesta case. The case is rectangular in shape with straight sides. The lid and the sides have superb and very fine engine turning and the lid has a band of woven chain link. The front of the vesta has a thumbpiece with a cabochon ruby to the centre. The one end has a striker surface to the bottom. The lid opens to reveal the three compartments and the side edge is also hinged and opens outwards. The vesta has compartments for matches and a candle as well as grooves to the edges for resting the candle. The vesta is 3-1/4 inches/ 82 mm wide and just over 1 inch/ 25 mm deep. This auction is for a gorgeous Tambour tulle and linen Appliqued Coverlet. It could also be used as a curtain. Tablecloth or throw. The color of this beauty is a soft off white. The coverlet measures approximately 8 ft L x 4' 7" W and would fit a twin or full bed. There are some light yellow stains throughout the cloth. Some measuring several inches large, and several small areas where the tulle has come apart and caused a minor hole. These do not distract from the beauty and would probably come out with proper stain removal washing(Which I'll leave up to the buyer! This is freshly laundered, however! Description We have for sale a beautiful queen size vintage country french style iron toleware headboard from a very nice estate. This is a lovely piece that is hand painted with a gold urn and lattice motif. The flame shaped center arch of the headboard is supported by two posts mounted with hand chased brass orbs. DIMENSIONS: The the tallest point of the center arch is 55" high and the two side posts are 49" high. The width is 62" The depth is 1.5" The weight is approximately 40-50 pounds. The headboard has a stretcher rail allowing it to be mounted to an existing bed frame.
