Antique Victorian Walnut Highly Carved Bedroom Suite Bed/Dresser/Night Stand
An exquisite antique bedroom suite all original dating to the mid to late 1800's. This is a 3 piece set made from walnut. Burl walnut and veneer and accented with marble and original hardware that comes with the following pieces. Bed: The stunning bed is sure to be a focal point in the room. The headboard stands 70" high at the back center. It is 65" wide at the widest point. The footboard measures 38" in height at the center. The carved bird motif on the headboard matches the motif on the footboard. The upper edges of the headboard are done in an elaborate acanthus leaf pattern and a matching pattern surrounds the birds in the center. The details on the birds is incredible with finely details individual feathers. There are losses to the veneer on this and there is also a section of wood missing on the carved back area. ... moreThe footboard has a metal strip on the back of it holding the two boards together and there is a paper coating it that has losses. There are age and use appropriate dings and scratches to the frame that one would expect to find on an item of this age. Dresser: The dresser has a beautiful black and gold and white veined marble top. This is one solid sheet of marble. There are some light scratches on the marble but there are no cracks in this piece. The dresser stands 37" high to the top of the marble slab. It is 36.25" wide and at the widest depth it is 21.5" It stands 74" high to the top of the mirror at the center. There are some light losses to the carving and scratches from use on this as well. There are cracks on the side but they do not affect the integrity of the piece.This also has the same matching cross diamond pattern on the sides and front as seen on the head and foot boards of the bed. The edges are also trimmed with an acanthus motif. There is a single drawer above two doors that open to reveal shelving. There is a lock on this and it does work. The outside dimensions are 64 inches wide, 41 inches to the headboard, and an amazing 94 inches to the finial on the canopy top. It has a floral carved wooden frame along the top that connects the four barley-twist posts together. The posts come all the way down on the headboard and footboard. The headboard has raised multi-shaped panels, and it has clip-in rails that make the bed nice, tight, and secure. There are metal brackets to hold the box spring up on the inside of the rails, and it is finished in a dark amber color. The overall condition is good. ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL DAY BED FRAME FIREPLACE SCREEN DIVIDER CARVED WOOD DRAGONS
We are pleased to offer this very unique. Architectural salvaged daybed frame. This old(mid to late 1800s) 2 section piece would make a beautiful and interesting fireplace screen, room divider, wall hanging or accent floor piece. It is very nice with a tall plant behind it. It is a constructed of solid wood(oak? panels with a carved, arched top section. The ends of each upper frame feature VERY DETAILED, carved wood, dragon heads. The heads have carved eyes, ears, nostrils and large incisor teeth/fangs. The two panels were, at one time, painted. There is some remaining OLD paint but most of it has worn and the wood is a natural color in these areas. The panels are footed. The original, front facing foot is the only"whole" foot as the others were side or back feet so they have a"sliced" profile. The original bolts, attachment ... morelock, brackets and hinges are still in place but could be removed. The unit is in good condition. There is some wear to the carved dragons, particularly to the ears as a couple of them have chipped. This is not distracting. This is a gorgeous piece. We have the matching unit available under a separate listing. It is the same except that it does not have a front"whole" foot. The piece can be displayed with a straight profile or it can be positioned as an"L" shape. The hinges(which are hidden in between the panels) allow for the unit to be folded. The frame measures 49" wide and 27" tall. IT IS EXTREMELY HEAVY. Shipping via GREYHOUND with insurance provided for you. Footboard and original rails in a cherry finish. Head and footboards are carved with a cut and pierced gallery finishing off the top of headboard. Wood is cut and layered on rails to produce the stepped detail on the ends. Bed fits a standard full size mattress 54" x 75" Pictured in bright sunlight and cloud cover. Bed is in overall very good condition. However, there are some signs of age on this 100 plus year old heirloom- there is some separation between the leg and body on the front right of footboard. Footboard is still very solid. There are also two spots on same leg on side where the wood must have been wet a one time ... moreas the finish color is lighter. There is also a long crack on the carved gallery on top of headboard and two of the six small gallery supports on back of headboard are missing. Gallery is solid and not loose or in danger of breaking. My guess is this crack has been there for many, many years. There are many small marks and scratches on legs. Bought this at a large antique show in Florida about 25 years ago.out of a Miami Beach estate. Was told it was from the 1680`s with the rails having been lengthened in the 1800`s. From their research it had a Hapsburg crest on the footboard and a nobleman`s crest on the headboard. Called an Italian wedding bed but would have been used in a summer place rather than the main castle/estate. Each post has a different agricultural product/leaf/vine.one is grapes. One oak leaves and not sure what the other 2 are. Has a custom mattress and very thin box spring/ sub support. It`s a tad too short to use a queen mattress. I had it set up strictly as a showpiece and used occasionally to meditate on when it had a fabric top gathered in the center. It includes custom velvet spread and 2 pillow shams.

This bed is hand carved from old-growth solid walnut. The fittings are wrought iron and the spindles are unevenly turned. When it is put together. It is very sturdy-the hardware was brilliantly set. It's about 6' long, so it was intended for a tall person to sleep in, not a child. Most likely a campaign bed for an officer, or a servant's bed. It's quite narrow. I cut new slats for it, but it was originally a slatted campaign bed, not a rope bed. There is no mattress for it. There is one crack in the headboard that could easily be repaired. It's all original except for the slats. Must pick it up in Sycamore. Illinois.

ANTIQUE 1790 PA BABY ROCKING CHRISTMAS CRADLE DOLL BED FOLK ART CARVED HEART VTG
This is a wonderful COLONIAL ANTIQUE 1790'S PINE AND WALNUT BABY CRADLE THAT IS HANDCRAFTED WITH MORTISE AND TENONS. PEGS, AND HAND CARVED CANNON BALLS ON HEAD AND FOOT BOARDS. Fully pegged corner construction with mortised and tendons on the ends of the rockers. There are two on each rocker but I did not show the entire rocker and you can only see one on each end. Still retains the Rare Brass Rope Studs. One might have been replaced as it is larger. All the panels are chamfered on inside and out. Really nice contruction. The cradle is extremely sturdy. This cradle is a true work of art from the carved hearts on the head and footboards to the excellent construction. It is easy to visualize a mother rocking her baby over 200 years ago in this cradle. This would be a family heirloom to pass on to future generations or a perfect display ... morefor that special doll or bear. There is a similar walnut cradle like this one in Winterthur's Kirchner Parlor. Historical Note; Colonial Babies were tied-down in these cradles. As an act of protective necessity. Mothers would Rock the Baby to sleep with a foot against one of the protruding Rocker Rails, then continue their household work knowing that the baby would not be roaming around when awakened. Condition: The cradle is made of pine and walnut. I believe. It is used with wear on the inside chamfered panels and the ball finials show wear. The pegs on the inside holding the mattress supports have been replaced with hand made screws(they are off center so you know that they are old screws) One of the brass rope supports is broken and needs to be secured better. One of the brass rope support matches the other but is a bit larger than the others. There is a age crack in the very vertical walnut support. it does in no way hamper the use of the cradle but it is there. It might just be a dry crack. Please, see photo. This antique Burlwood bed is in good condition and comes complete with rails. I forgot to add the pictures of the rails but can send a picture upon request. Also. As shown in pictures, t here is some glue residue on one of the legs from a repair but it is sturdy. I have the shipping listed with Greyhound and you will have to pick it up at your local terminal. Eastlake Carved Bed Professionally Refinished for Sale!
Ornately carved Eastlake bed that was professionally refinished for sale! This is everything I can think to tell you about it: I'm trying to sell it because I'm in the process of moving overseas for work and I'm trying not to take any furniture. Cars, or anything else overly large(I'll have other things for sale on eBay until everything is sold) It was purchased from the Kane County Flea Market in St. Charles. IL in approximately 1999 when I resided in Chicago. Good friends of mine who own a famous furniture company in Chicago refinished it as a gift to me. Because they are friends of mine and the work was done as a gift. There is no documentation of the refinish. However, I included a picture of the book and the page from the book on which their shop is profiled. They normally charge between $5k-$7k for this type of refinish ... moredepending on the complexity of the piece and demand. I believe it is Eastlake but do not know for sure. There are no markings I can find that indicate definitively if it is or is not an Eastlake but the vendor it was purchased from had pretty much all pieces he claimed were Eastlake. It has the typical carvings. Shapes, and overall style of an Eastlake piece. It is solid wood which I believe is walnut but I am not 100% sure about that. There are a few blemishes present prior to the refinish that were so deep they could not be removed during the refinish process. As well as a couple of scuff marks which I did point out in the pictures. The inside of the rails were not refinished and are in their absolute naturally used condition as well as the back of the headboard. There are what appear to be scuff marks along the very bottom panel of the headboard but they were refinished as well as they could be and they are not visible when a mattress and box spring are in use. I'm not sure the size of the bed because it is not a standard size used today so I took pictures with the tape measure visible showing all the dimensions of the bed. Beautiful antique maple and poplar bed. Rails appear to be chestnut. Finish is nice and there is some nice figure in the wood of some of the panels. Nice carving and pressing in the panels and frame. Some minor wear. The headboard is 68" tall by ~56" wide. Footboard is 30" tall by ~56" wide. The complete bed is about 76" long. Mattress. Size would be 72" x 54" or any size mattress if the rails weren't used and the head and footboard were attached to a metal frame. Local pickup only.

Antique Carved Birds Eye Maple Bed w Wooden Siderails, From English Manor House?
This bed is a mid-19th century continental bird’s eye maple and parcel gilt bedstead w/carved decoration and paneled center flanked by turned columns on bun feet. This view in the second photo is from the foot board looking up to the headboard beyond. The headboard is intricately carved with a central carving and monogram of what looks like a stylized“M” and“S” This is flanked by“waves” of gilded carving. The headboard is decorated with two twisted columns with topped by carved and gilded Corinthian capitels. The same motifs are repeated on the foot board. All of the carving is of very high quality. The bed is in very good condition in the sense that it is not warped or cracked or split and has been professionally renovated and cleaned up. There is some wear on the gilt. Which is normal with age and contributes to the patina, some bubbling ... moreand flaking of the veneer. This is an antique and like most antiques not in pristine. Never-been-used condition. It shows some wear but overall a very nice bed. Your mattress and platform base will be supported by wood side rails running the length of the bed providing a very secure base for the mattress and to ensure the bed remains stable. The mattress/platform are not included in this sale. All pieces and screws are included. We can recommend an excellent company that makes outstanding mattresses to fit and who is currently having a 15% off sale. Their customer service is outstanding and their prices reasonable. So if you don't have something to fit, they will be able to help you and do a good job of it.
