This Heirloom Antique is one of a kind. Made of durable brass. This bed is the LAST one made of the Aviary Series. We begged them to make it for us about 30 years ago after the series was closed. This bed is a MUST HAVE for a collection or to use daily. Sizes are headboard 78" wide and 67" to the top of the post. Foot board is also 78" wide and 53" to the top of the post. The bed is 85" long. A bed warmer was typically filled with warm coals. And then it would be put under the covers to warm the bed. They were largely forgotten with the invention of rubber hot water bottles, then later electric blankets. The lid of this is hand chased with an ornate design. The handle is wrought iron with a bead and rattail end. The hand hammered iron has character that you just don't see very much anymore. This measures approx. 41" long, 12" wide, and 4 1/2" tall. We are calling this shabby chic due to scratches, dents, and dings. There is some oxidation on the iron mounting ring as well. Overall, a neat piece from years gone by! Good Luck! Adorable vintage French brass bed canopy coronet. Rose decoration. Heavy quality
This is an adorable vintage French ciel de lit. Bed canopy, coronet made from brass. Measuring approx 22" wide x 16" deep it dates from early 1900s and has its as found uncleaned time worn patina. This is a heavy quality piece at 1.5kg in total. There are 5 gorgeously detailed roses around the side which can be easily taken off for cleaning and fitting the curtain rings. There are even 2 of the original rings still on it. There is one original fitting bracket left which probably held a chain to fix to the ceiling for added security. Simple lines of the Head and Foot with heavy brass oblong bed posts are highlighted by the overlay brass at the corners. Both pieces have smaller internal posts; the Head is missing the middlepost. A good metalsmith could replace this or the bed could be used in its' current form) All posts are hallow and made of heavy brass. The bed is on wheels and is easily moved. Antique Copper Bed Warmer 24" Wood & Brass Handle Vintage Victorian Style
This is an antique copper bed warmer. Believed to have been created circa early 1900's. The handle is 24 inches in length and constructed of very hard wood and brass connector cuffs, the brass cuff that holds the two turned handle sections together is wobbly and needs to be tightened) But I will leave that to the buyer. There is a hoop at the end used for hanging when not in use. The pan is 9" in diameter and 2 inches deep. There is a beautifully ornate brass Victorian lid hinge that is loaded with patina. It really shows the age of this charming antique piece! The shiny copper has a nice polished look and the vented lid original in design. This is a Brass"Go To Bed" Vesta Case CIRCA 1850's. It is stamped on the base" 50 Patent Vesta Lights Safety Box" They were called"Go To Bed" as the Vesta(Match) was struck on the base to light and placed in the small holder on the top which allowed just enough light to get into bed. It is approx 6cms high with a base diameter of 2.3cms. The Vesta Case has no knocks and the Lid fits firmly but there are signs of its age with some rubbing and loss of finish. One for the Collector of Novelty Vestas or of interesting early Brass Pieces. I have set a low starting bid. Good Luck. This auction is for a dollhouse brass bed measuring about 6.5" long x 4.5" wide with a headboard height of about 4.5" tall. I think the mattress is original(with discoloration) It looks like the bed is made of brass tubing. And I can't tell if it is plated or solid, but the bed weighs 8 oz. The bedspread is not original. The little table with the bed measures 2.75" wide and 4" tall and has a velvet fabric top. The silver material on the mirror has broken down and I don't think it is glass.
