c.1750's antique Colonial brass BED WARMER w/ WALNUT HANDLE
During the Colonial era when a fireplace was your only warmth during the frigid winters. Just before you retired you would fill your bed warmer with embers from the fireplace and place it under your coverlet to warm up your bed for the night. This mid 18th century bedwarmer is all hand made with a hammered brass pan with copper rivet construction with a hand chased and engraved design of stars and flaurel sprays on top. The handle has exquisite turnings and is made of walnut that has attained a nice smooth chocolate brown patina. Condition: some small dings on pan but no large distracting dents; the walnut handle has scattered worm holes in areas; engraved design on top is very worn from years of polishing; some wear to back of handle where it rubbed against a log wall while hanging(not seen when hanging) These would originally have had a ... moreleather or rope string tied around the handle for hanging(a leather shoe string works easy enough) To see a similar example with near identical handle dated c.1750. See pg. 380 in DOMESTIC METALWORK 1640-1820 by Gentle. This beautiful example surfaced recently in Pennsylvania and is about as nice as they get and like anything this early. This antique brass bed dates to the Victorian era and measures 55 inches wide and measures 75 inches in length. Making this a full-size bed. The headboard stands 64 inches tall and the footboard stands 40 inches tall. This bed is authentic. Old, has a great patina. It is constructed from rolled solid brass with a lacquer finish. If one was so inclined, this one would shine up well and present a super glossy finish. This is an antique brass and cast iron double bed from the 1800's. It is marked on metal tag: Whitcomb Metallic Bedstead Company Manufacturers. Shelton. Conn. It is a double bed measuring 54 inches wide. The siderails measure 75 inches long and the brass rails measure 82" The headboard is 57 inches high and footboard is 37 inches high. The bed is very heavy and solid. Some of the seams in brass are split a bit which is common. Everything is tight. The siderails are not original and have been resoldered with ends that fit the headboard/footboard. One of the corner cast iron receptacles has been rewelded/repaired but is fine. Nice old bed. The pair once served as the bed posts of a footboard on a Mid Century bed. The pair features large brass lion heads with nice detailing. The bodies are fluted wood columns that taper very slightly toward the bottom. The raised bases are brass. There are screw holes up and inside the bases. Antique Early American Brass Pan Bed Warmer Wooden Handle Engraved 1700s
This most attractive hand crafted bed warmer could be of America. Dutch or English origin and boasts hand engraved and pierced decoration and hand hammered copper rivets. It measures 40 ½” long overall with 11” diameter pan and 4” long brass mounting neck and has a most attractive turned birch wood handle. The handle may not be the original(not unusual on these creatures) but it is quite old with historically appropriate profile. You will note a small loss on the mount flange on the back with some associated stress cracks, yet it is sturdy and usable, should you wish. The handle comes off by removing a single screw(not original) so it will be shipped disassembled for safety and economy. The metal work dates ca. 1780-1820. This is an old solid brass and copper covered beadwork bed. The copper is over metal I believe in the fine beadwork of the bed. There is two of the claw feet there and the other two are missing. They can easily be duplicated as you can take the other two off for this. The bed is 55 inches wide and there are no bed rails with this. Antique brass and iron canopy bed. Aesthetic Movement era with stylized sunflowers on the headboard and a brass plaque depicting the Madonna and Child on the footboard. Originally from Malta, brought to the US in the 1970s. Originally a double bed, the rails have been lengthened to fit a queen size mattress. The width has not been altered. A queen size mattress fits nicely. There are hand-painted flowers twining up the canopy posts, some are worn off with age, others are still there. Beautiful old patina to this bed and everything is original from the finials down to the casters at the bottom. All rails and parts are straight. The joint system is simple& set up to be rock solid& not budge on you at all. We believe because the rails are so heavy that they are cast iron with a gold lacquer painted finish to match the bed. All of the brass posts& spindles are hollow otherwise this would be ridiculously heavy and the headboard& footboard are heavy enough as they are! The brass has a wonderful& warm patina to it! The side rails on the headboard& footboard are both marked"1872 4/8 SATIN" The corner joint of each rail large raised capital"G" stamped on the top& the joints on the sides of the H.B. F.B. each have the number"2" stamped in the same manner. From the outside of the posts headboard to footboard the bead measures 81.5" long by 54.5" wide across. Brass Bed ...early 20th century awesome character single bed !
you are looking at one brass bed. the headrest on back measures 57 inches high by 3 feet wide and the rear or were your feet go is 3 ft high by 3feet wide the length of the bed set up is.about 80 to 84 inches long. it needs new casters so all my measurements were taken minus the casters that are 3 inches high. the bed needs restoration if you would like me send you more pictures I can. the bed needs restoration and cleaning. its solid.it needs your tlc. it includes the original bed rails to hold up mattress any questions feel free to ask!

I bought this Art Deco or Art Nouveau bed frame in the early 1980s at an estate sale as a standard double bed. The frame is marked’Rafael Garcia. Antique Double Brass Bed~Unique Design~ Late 1800's-Early 1900's
This is an antique double brass bed from late 1800's or early 1900's. It is in good condition. There is a unique design that to me looks similar to an anchor. But I don't think that is what it is. Very interesting though! It does have wheels at the bottom of the legs. It came with the house my husband and I just bought, and we do not wish to keep the bed. It does need cleaning and polishing or not. It is up to the buyer. Once bidding is complete I will contact buyer to make arrangements for pick up.
