There is a 3" space between the rails on the end pieces and the side pieces have a 4" space between the rails. The metal box spring is intact with no damage to the springs. Both of the side rails are with htis piece. the fifth picture shows the unattached side leaning against it. One of the rods for attaching the side rails is bent. A second rod has the hook to hold side up broken and there is a very minor bend/sag ... morein the bottom part of one of the side rails. The piece has the original metal to hold the casters but does not have any casters on it. There are age and use appropriate scratches and dings to the paint. Vintage Working France Brass Bed Warmer 8 Day Wind-up Clock Wooden Handle RARE
Here is a very rare and hard to find wind-up 8-day clock in the shape of a brass bed warmer. Made in France. Long handle with leather cord. It does run and keep time. It does not chime. We do not have the original key. But we tested it out by using a universal key and ran it for a couple of days. It has a glass cover that is intact with no chips or cracks. The clock measures 32 ½ inches end to end. The handle alone is 21 inches long, the brass pan is 11 ½ inches end to end, 2 ½ inches thick and the clock face with glass cover on measures approximately 6 ½ inches. There is a bend in the brass pan on the bottom of it, which is shown. It needs a cleaning and polish. A beautiful piece to add to any clock collection. Pictures clearly show the condition. This is a copper and brass bed warmer. It has a plate on the front that reads" Prince George Hotel London" According to information I received this is from about 1930. It has a long decorative wooden handle. With a ring for hanging. It is in very good vintage-antique condition. There are some signs of age and use, such as patina built up around the brass, and some"dings" in the copper, mostly to the backside. It still displays wonderfully, and makes for a great conversation-piece. It's measurements are just under 37" from floor up. The pan is about 10 1/2" wide. The weight is difficult to register accurately right now, because it's not in a box. It's at least 3 lbs,probably about 6 lbs packaged. PAIR MID CENTURY JANSEN ERA WOOD & BRASS LION FINIALS BED POSTS COLUMNS LEGS 28"
VERY RARE! We are pleased to offer this unique and exceptional pair of Mid Century(1960s- 1980s) Hollywood Regency reclaimed decorative pieces! The pair once served as the bed posts of a footboard on a Mid Century bed. The pair features large brass lion heads with nice detailing. The bodies are fluted wood columns that taper very slightly toward the bottom. The raised bases are brass. There are screw holes up and inside the bases. I cannot find any information on the bed nor is the manufacturer's mark present. However, these are quite special and obviously high end. They may be custom pieces.not sure. They are quite heavy, weighing 10 pounds each. The backs of the bodies have the attachment housing still intact so the pair could be used as a bed piece. They are quite gorgeous as floor finials, mantle pieces and interior accents. This ... moreis a stunning pair with great detail and interest. They are in very good condition with some age spots on the brass and some very minor scuffing to the finish. Neither of these are very noticeable and certainly do not distract from this gorgeous pair. TRULY ONE OF A KIND! These are large pieces. Each column measures 28.25" tall. Antique 1905 Iron and Brass Double Bed
This beautiful ornate iron. Brass, silver-toned metal and oak double bed was in the home of the eminent and much-loved doctor, Giles Lucas, and his wife, Lucy Jane, when his daughter, who they also named Lucy Jane, was born in 1906 in Van Buren, Arkansas. It stayed in the mansion until 1970, when it was shipped to the home of Lucy Jane Cannon in Florida. The humid environment in Florida over the years caused the paint to peal, and concerns about health issues connected with lead paint led to the decision to remove all the loose paint. The present owners have removed some of the layer of lacquer which obscured the luster of the brass. The iron has had all the loose paint removed, as have the silver-colored metal ornaments at the intersection points. All four casters are in place. The bed is still in great shape, and is beautiful. Vintage hand painted ceramic or porcelain balls originally used on a brass bed. These three ceramic balls have the same design on both back and front. They appear to have been hand painted. As there are small differences in the painted design, and the orange dots in the centre of the flower and along the leaves are raised to the touch. Two are in perfect condition. The third has faults on both sides. On one side a smear of white paint toward the bottom. Which you may be able to remove with a solvent. On the other side part of the blue painted area is missing and there is a small fault to the left of that. Dimensions: Height: 6cm(2.25" Width: 6cm(2.25" I have more photographs.
