When he was transferred with the railroad company, he moved his wife and five children from the farm house into the big city of Charlotte. They only bought one kitchen table from the old house. I have re-listed this 1952 Art Deco style 4 piece bedroom suite. The suite includes 1 Full size bed. 1 5 drawer dresser, 1 dressing table with removable mirror, and 1 upholstered ottoman. All pieces are original to the set and are not mismatched. I inherited the pieces from my Great Grandmother and am parting with them as I have downsized and no longer have room for these items. Michael Howard Solid Oak Bedroom Suite Headboard Piers Chest Triple Dresser
I am selling my solid oak complete Michael Howard bedroom suite. Included are the following pieces: Headboard- two compartments with doors on either side and a lift up compartment behind the head of the bed. In the lift up compartment is a secret drawer that pulls out from one side. There is a light in the interior of the lift up compartment that turns on when door is opened. There is also a mirror there as well as a light that turns on with a switch. There are also two plugs and a telephone jack back there. Piers and bridge- There is a large pier on either side of the headboard. This consists of an upper cabinet with three shelves and a lift up hidden door above these cabinets. There is a shelf area below the cabinets and then a slide out shelf with a glass insert that can be removed for use as a lap table then two more drawers underneath ... morethat. Connecting the two piers is a triple mirror with three inset lights above the mirrors. This can be turned on by a dimmer knob that is behind the bed that allows for different levels of lighting which is super nice. Triple dresser- The dresser has nine drawers plus a secret slide out drawer inset into the top middle drawer. There is also a triple mirror on top- the side mirrors can swing into any position- flat. Angled in, etc. Chest- The chest has four drawers. It also has a flip up top that contains a felted interior with a mirror on the bottom of the top so when you open it you can see into the mirror while putting on your jewelry. There is also a side compartment for ties that has hooks on it- you press the side of the chest and the compartment pops open. This is a really super-duper nice solid oak bedroom set. The bed is 7" high-the swan marble top table is 2 1/2" high. These are in good played with condition-there is some glue residue on top of the bedside table-I think it could be removed fairly easily. The bed has a small detail on the side rail missing(see last pic) this would be covered by bedding. The headboard slots into the frame-it was originally glued but I think it will ship more safely like this. The swan table is really pretty with flower details on the swan wings and the table and would work well in a Victorian setting-it is perfect. The marble tops have a quartz like look to them ... moreand are fairly heavy-I do not know what they are made of. I am selling a large collection from a 1970's dollhouse-please take a look!
