Gorgeous! True vintage piece- awesome Art Deco"Waterfall" style Warm brown with a slight cherry reddish tone Tiger maple look grain in the wood(I'm no expert on the wood types- see the pics! 4 drawers. Original mirror, shelf areas in the middle Measures 44" wide. 19" deep, 28.25" tall plus mirror(62.75" tall including mirror) The mirror is 36" wide including the wood frame. And it comes apart from the base for easy moving. No chips or cracks in the wood. Lovely finish. With no water stains or scratches! Wow. The mirror is also true vintage. So it does have slight wear in a couple spots(meaning black or brown spots where the mirror"silvering" is gone) typical for an old mirror. But no chips or cracks or crazing. It is in excellent condition(sorry for the streaks on the mirror- we forgot to windex ... moreit again before taking the photos! Clean drawers. Gold toned hardware The outer sides of the dresser seem to have had veneer originally. But it was probably chipped, so it seems to have been removed and the wood underneath was stained to match the dresser. It's common for vintage veneers to chip, so that's probably what happened. It's not noticeable that it should have been there- see pics- but we thought we'd mention it, as we try to mention all so-called"imperfections" Also. As you can see in the photos, there is more than one kind of wood used on this piece, making for lots of personality. The darker"tiger-like" wood on the drawer fronts is very beautiful! Rare Antique Art Deco Waterfall Style 1930s-3 Pc Bedroom Set-Bed, Vanity & Chest
Gorgeous estate find! Waterfall style set that needs some refinishing and touching up. There are lots of nicks. Spots, wear, and chipped laminate throughout the set that needs some TLC. The footboard of the bed needs to be re-secured/attached to the posts. It has a slot end that fits into the hole on the post and might just need some wood glue. There are rollers on the bottom of the pieces that are missing but can be easily replaced. The drawers are dovetailed and the mirror to the vanity is original. 1940s Art Deco Like Retro Vintage Antique Bedroom Set
My parents bought this set new right after WWII and kept it-when they liked something. They didn't get rid of it. A beautiful set in great condition with very clean drawers that slide easily. I've not seen another one like it when I've looked at anitques. It is veneer, as was common during that era, with a slight mark, here and there, from general wear. Three Piece Set. Five Drawer Dresser, Vanity With Mirror and Upholstered Settee. This bedroom set is a beautiful example of what"real furniture" looked like"in the day" With a few exceptions these pieces are in great condition. I will describe those exceptions as best I can. 1) The mirror has a few dings on the back along two edges that I'm sure can be repaired. There is also some backing on the glass that could use repair. This is a wonderful Art Deco set once owned by the silent film star Pola Negri. It was purchased from her estate in 1988 when her estate was liquidated by a university. The set consists of a full size bed with a 10 ft wide headboard with built in nightstands. A triple mirror vanity and a dresser. The bed is complete with the finished rails and footboard. Antique Vintage Bedroom Set Bed, Vanity, Dresser, Mirror, Oak dove tail Art Deco
I would appreciate any information on a maker or an era which this furniture was made. The bedroom set is beautifully hand crafted with solid oak and veneers. The joints are all dove tail and it appears everything is individually hand crafted not machine made as far as carved accents and engraved pieces. This will need restoration to become the masterpiece it once was. I think there is only a couple tiny pieces missing that can easily be crafted which I think are at the very end of bed in the center design. the flaked veneers should be there also but may need new veneer work in my opinion. the dressers are on wood casters.
