The princess or deep well dresser offers the same rounded top and crest as the bed. Candle shelves are located on each side of the mirror. Raised burled panels and tear drop pulls adorn each drawer~2 small. 2 large. The matching washstand offers a nice storage, with a drawer and large storage area behind paneled doors. This Walnut Victorian bedroom set is in very nice condition for it age. The white and grey marble shows only normal signs of use having some slight discoloration. But no cracks or breaks. There is a repair to the footboard which is very sturdy and secure, not an issue and not very noticable~see picture#4. It has turnip shaped tapered legs, a beautiful triple panel section on the footboard, and maple pinstripe inlay around the burl walnut panels going around the straight grain walnut, and also an ebony checkerboard type inlay. The bed is 62 inches wide on the inside, 57 inches tall at the headboard, and 33 inches tall at the footboard. The inside dimensions are 59 inches wide, and 74 inches long. The bolt-in side rails are even all inlaid and decorated, and make the bed all tight and sturdy. It originally had four legs on the front, one of which is missing. We can replace it, but it doesn’t affect the structure of the bed. We will replace it at no charge if you so desire, upon purchase. Details: An antique c.1840-1870 handmade solid walnut rope bed. The bed has been converted from being a rope bed. Holes plugged, and fitted with newer solid wood rails to accommodate a full-size mattress set. The headboard and footboard are identical in size and style. Each one is made using two walnut panels, topped by a rolling pin crest, flanked by low, solid posts that feature mushroom-cap finials. The finish is original. Showing age appropriate patina, more so to the footboard where the finish is lighter along the top due to blankets being hung over it for many years. The overall condition is very good, only issues to report are minor scuffs and an old split in one wood panel on the footboard, wood contracting? The split does not affect the stability of the bed at all, and I mention it only for accuracy. it is the late 1800's antique bed- headboard. Foot board, side boards. We believe it is made of mahogany with inlaid woodwork of walnut? Not 100% sure however it is quite heavy. Not in perfect condition, we would say fair condition or has been loved: it is an odd size apparently. Side boards are 77inches in length. Seems to be an UK/Ireland queen? An exquisite antique bedroom suite all original dating to the mid to late 1800's. This is a 3 piece set made from walnut. Burl walnut and veneer and accented with marble and original hardware that comes with the following pieces. Bed: The stunning bed is sure to be a focal point in the room. The headboard stands 70" high at the back center. It is 65" wide at the widest point. The footboard measures 38" in height at the center. The carved bird motif on the headboard matches the motif on the footboard. The upper edges of the headboard are done in an elaborate acanthus leaf pattern and a matching pattern surrounds the birds in the center. The details on the birds is incredible with finely details individual feathers. There are losses to the veneer on this and there is also a section of wood missing on the carved back area. ... moreThe footboard has a metal strip on the back of it holding the two boards together and there is a paper coating it that has losses. There are age and use appropriate dings and scratches to the frame that one would expect to find on an item of this age. Dresser: The dresser has a beautiful black and gold and white veined marble top. This is one solid sheet of marble. There are some light scratches on the marble but there are no cracks in this piece. The dresser stands 37" high to the top of the marble slab. It is 36.25" wide and at the widest depth it is 21.5" It stands 74" high to the top of the mirror at the center. There are some light losses to the carving and scratches from use on this as well. This is one gorgeous piece of wood. It is burled walnut and is from the early 1800s. It is a lap desk or maybe used as a bed tray. It is 32" long and 14" tall. It is in really nice condition. c.1750's antique Colonial brass BED WARMER w/ WALNUT HANDLE
During the Colonial era when a fireplace was your only warmth during the frigid winters. Just before you retired you would fill your bed warmer with embers from the fireplace and place it under your coverlet to warm up your bed for the night. This mid 18th century bedwarmer is all hand made with a hammered brass pan with copper rivet construction with a hand chased and engraved design of stars and flaurel sprays on top. The handle has exquisite turnings and is made of walnut that has attained a nice smooth chocolate brown patina. Condition: some small dings on pan but no large distracting dents; the walnut handle has scattered worm holes in areas; engraved design on top is very worn from years of polishing; some wear to back of handle where it rubbed against a log wall while hanging(not seen when hanging) These would originally have had a ... moreleather or rope string tied around the handle for hanging(a leather shoe string works easy enough) To see a similar example with near identical handle dated c.1750. See pg. 380 in DOMESTIC METALWORK 1640-1820 by Gentle. This beautiful example surfaced recently in Pennsylvania and is about as nice as they get and like anything this early. Getting near impossible to find anymore and would look great hanging either in your bedroom or next to a fireplace. Offered for auction is this beautiful walnut Renaissance Revival Victorian double high back bedstead and half commode/somnoe and dresser w/mirror. The finish is a light walnut which appears to be in pretty good condition with some areas of discoloration. The headboard is 7'4" h x 5'4" w. Foot board is 3'2 1/2" tall. Takes a full double mattress. There is a large carved cartouche at the top of the multi curved headboard with large applied panels with walnut burl veneer. Main part of the headboard has two recessed panels with assymetrical curved tops. Sides of the headboard are topped by large carved and turned finials. Footboard has same raised molding but has an elaborate carved element in the middle of the curved footboard. Side boards have raised molding and fit into foot and headboards with double hooks that ... morefit into notched holes. Mirrored dresser is same height and matches the carving and design of the bed headboard. Two candle shelves and two handkerchief boxes complement the mirrored back of the dresser. The half commode has a nice white/grey marble top over a single drawer with circular molding and carved handle all over a single cupboard door with burl walnut panel and wooden knob and key.
