It dates from ca. 1870s and is in fabulous museum quality condition. It is large it measures 25” long x 19” tall and is 15” wife. It is accompanied by a miniature crazy quilt from the same era. Also it has two handmade miniature pillows with miniature pillow cases. The mattress is NOT original. It is a modern replacement-it is just a small regular sized pillow. The sampler is made of solid walnut. Note the intricate quality in the hand carving and attention to detail on head board. The finals are removable as you would see in a real bed. The side rails show the roman column effect that Victorian society so admired. The bed slats and crafted to fit snugly but sadly two are missing. The foot board ... morereveals panels that match the head board panels. The pieces were chosen very carefully and display the beautiful grains. The finish is all original and the darkened patina shows it nice old age. Some may want to call this a doll bed; it is not. This is a real salesman sample. It has much more detail than a doll bed. Antique Old Style Bed - French Origin, French Walnut, mid 1800's
Old style double bed from France. European walnut. With original finish. Hand made construction, believe to be circa mid 1800's. Hand carved detail, with lathe turned spindles. Mortise and tenon construction, and panels are hand cut with panel backs hand planed. The bed was likely built in the pre-machinery, pre-factory built age. Headboard and footboard panels have shrunk slightly, showing small gap. However as they have not split, the bed has held up very well, considering its age. The bed comes with a Simmons Ace royal Inner Spring, sized for the bed, circa 1920's. It also includes a mattress that is also sized for the bed.

This original antique ring could quite easily be used as a feature towel ring in a Victorian bathroom or over a roll top bath. antique vintage little wooden bed edinburgh label walnut i think adorable
i suppose this little bed was made in Germany. But it has a most wonderful little oval label on it underneath. the label says The Albert Bazarr/ 4Shandwick Place, Four Doors West From Princes St. Edinburgh. the label is very plain except for the"I" in wick might be a different letter, not sure. i think it is walnut. In any case it is a natural wood finish. it is 5 3/4 inches long, 3 1/4 inches wide measuring the top of the boards on the end, and 2 1/2 inches tall. it has it's original mattress, wooden on the bottom and on the top what looks almost like flannel tho it is not, with blue stripes in it and red tuffs. i don't know if the cloth on the mattress could be cleaned or not. i never tried it since i really collect in oversize. I just loved this little label and kept it for that reason. i had never see a label like it ... morebefore. i hope there is someone out there who wants to give it a nice home, i have had it for a long time. i suspect it is for a child's bedroom or might be small adult i really don't know. it might be 3/4 scale it might be inch scale, depending up on the use i guess.
