The base piece is a solid bar/board made of 1 7/8" thick on headboard and footboard. The Dresser is 36" high X 24" Deep X 54" Wide. Same. Matching wood and very solid, needs new drawer pulls, the original one's have broken, see pictures. This Dresser is approximately 95 years old. Massive. Beautiful circa 1890 original antique bed frame. This is a true full size bed and will fit a contemporary mattress. It is actually long enough to fit a double-extra long. Or queen-sized box springs(though the queen size will be slightly wider than the frame) According to my Internet research. This bed is in the"Oxford"style which originated during the Civil War. Oxford beds are identified by the matching curved tops on the headboard and footboard. This bed has simple, unadorned lines and fits into both modern and traditional rooms. The Charles P Rogers Beds Direct website refers to this style as the Boston Bed. In the gaslight style-you can buy a new reproduction for only $1,600, or you can get an authentic antique here for a fraction of the cost! This bed was discovered at the Lakeside School rummage sale(coming up again ... morein March—talk about a treasure trove! the age estimate comes from the previous owner. This is a complete bed. Including the headboard, footboard, and two side rails. Rails are iron, spray painted gold at some point to match the brass. The headboard and footboard are very heavy, and appear to be iron, too, wrapped in brass. See the photos to see how the iron rails fit into the slot on the headboard and footboard. Like puzzle pieces. They slip right in and hold everything together very solidly. The bed does not have casters. Intricate and gorgeous bedspread that probably dates before 1900 and was likely made in the South. Check out the textures created by the pattern. So precise and beautifully made. 96 inches long. 86 inches wide, from tip of fringe to tip of fringe. Very elegant period showpiece. Up for auction is this Solid Oak Antique Canopy Queen Bed Headboard and Footboard in Excellent Condition. You will have to provide the hook-in rails and the canopy top) The top piece of the post lifts off so you can attach the canopy top to it. Color: The bed is a medium brownish colored stain. I believe it is chestnut(but I am not exactly sure) It is very pretty. Lighting varies when taking pictures so all pictures may not look the same for coloring. For sale is our lovely 4 POSTER DOUBLE or Queen BED(fit's queen mattress) Cherrywood" The bed is 5' wide and 76" long. The 4 poster's are almost 5 ft. high. The block's on bottom are 4" square and headboard is 1 1/4" Thick and 51" X 25" solid headboard wood piece. The base piece is a solid bar/board of 1 7/8" thick on headboard and footboard. Pictures show wear over the year's. more pictures can be sent if you are interested. Pictures Show: The railing's for the bed have dowel's that fit into headboard& foot board. Notice that on the inside where the bolts go in to tighten pieces together have broken. Additional holes are next to original holes on base of head/foot board and this is where an angle brace is attached to keep bed tight. This successfully keeps bed tight and no ... moresqueaks!
