Early hand quilted antique quilt.It was constructed using long strips of fabric measuring 5.5" sewn.wonderful turkey red small scale calico and what appears as a brown looks like it was purple known as fugitive purple(check out the close-up pictures)there is a lighter brown with circles and a pink and white stripe. It was made for a four poster bed so you can see the cut outs at the bottom. Binding is a solid red and there is a small spot that could use a small repair.But binding is not frayed or weak. There are no weak fabrics or seam splits or holes of any kind. There are a few age marks on the front and more especially seen when looking at the backside of the muslin.Still this is.lovely to use or display. Early antique quilt.It is a log cabin.wonderful turkey red center squares surrounded by small scale calicos and what appears as a brown looks like it was purple known as fugitive purple(check out the close-up pictures)so many wonderful fabrics in this. I think it was constructed using the foundation piecing method and there are some small ties that you have to look hard for. This is not hand quilted. Antique Unbelievable Carved Full Double Pineapple Four Poster Bed Post Frame
Up for sale is an antique full/double sized Mahogany Pineapple post bed frame. The frame is in good shape but is in need of some TLC. The frame has some condition issues. Namely finish problems and marks, scratches but it is still a gorgeous frame. Chip in one of the pineapple's leaves. I photographed it copiously so you can see the details. The detailed worked posts are quite a unique feature. I am not able to identify the wood definitively but it is my guess that the main body of the headboard and footboard are mahogany veneer. The posts are likely solid since it would be near impossible to veneer them. The beams also appear to be veneered. The beam has a veneer that has chipped at the end. This dollhouse bed has antique delicate silk lace glued on the top and sides and includes a mattress. A pillow, and a fringed bedspread. The bed is 7 3/4" tall, 5" wide, and 6 3/4" long. The bedspread is 14 1/2" x 16 1/2" including the fringes. I had to tuck part of the bedspread under the mattress in order to get it to fit the bed. Beautiful 4 poster antique bed, carpenters dream
Absolutely beautiful 4 poster bed. Deep rich color with classic spindle carving. Side boards were screwed down for extra stability. Headboard has scroll and point detail with pretty carving. Footboard is simple with paneled styling. The tall spindles were taken off and reassembled by a carpenter. He made a wooden dowel so the bed can easily go up staircases. The headboard had the side taken off to go up and down the stairs. Wood glue for assembly. You will love climbing into this fabulous bed! 83" wide. 88" long, 87" floor to top of spindle. I believe the wood is cherry, but I am not certain. From a smoke free home. Pick up only in NJ.

Somewhere along the line. Like they did back in the 1960s and 1970s, they did the rails over and lengthened it out to take a full size modern size box spring and mattress. This one has the crown on top and I think the wood is tulip wood, but it came out of the Midwest and I am not as familiar with the Midwest woods as I am the east coast woods. The pictures will show you what you are buying. It is an early canopy poster bed that has been adapted for a modern day box spring and mattress. It comes with a crown molded top, four extra tall multi turn posts, headboard shield and adapted side rails to give you the right length for a modern day mattress. The finish is a cherry brown. Towards the top the headboard sits an open floral carved fretwork dome. Further above, sits an intricately carved floral crown, which is flanked by two angels. The footboard, headboard and sides rails also feature a carved floral fretwork. The footboard also features turned beaded spindles below a barley twist shaped footboard rail. Above the bed frame, the barley twist tapered posts support a protruding carved floral dentil canopy. There are very pretty floral motifs sitting at the top of the posts. This bed has a mid-brown colour it boasts the original polish, which is why it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. 1870s 4 Poster Rope Bed Low Posts Ontario Canada Antique Primitive
This is a beautiful antique pine 4-post bed from rural Ontario. North of Toronto originally. I have owned this bed for over 40 years. And am now downsizing. It is a 3/4 size. Meaning it is 51 1/2" wide overall outside measurement, and it would take a 49" mattress. Length is 76" inside measurement. You could get away with a double mattress, but it will overhang a couple of inches on either side. The posts are 4' high. The posts are maple. The head and foot boards are pine. The blanket rail is maple. The original rope rails are on the ends. But have been missing for the sides as long as I have had this. We adapted it with old 1890's iron rails and it comes with a fitted plywood base, so all is needed is a mattress. It would be too high with a boxspring and mattress. Alternatively, you could attach the head and foot to ... morea boxspring base. This was refinished 40 years ago. So could have a little refresher of wax, but it is actually not bad. It could also do with a little tightening, but once put together with the rails and plywood, it is very solid and stable. Being maple posts, it is quite heavy. 1800s Antique Cherry Poster Rope Bed With Spring Mattress And Bedding
I am selling the bed for my father. Here is his description: The solid cherry bed was made in the first half of the 1800's( ie;prior to 1850) It was given to my mother in 1912 for her 9th birthday.It is approximately full size bed 52" x 80" and originally had the rope lattice instead of a spring.The pegs for the rope lattice are there as shown in the photos.There is a custom made spring for the bed and custom mattress.The canopy frame is also solid cherry and there is a custom eyelet white cotton cover for the canopy and a skirt for the bed. There are a few small repairs but the bed is in good condition for the age! Also has original crank to tighten the frame screws. See the attached pictures but be aware the bed is not completely setup in them. It looks beautiful once setup with the canopy frame and custom bedding. The yellow cotton is used for the top as well as the backing. The applique is puffed and has a little embroidery; the applique is mostly dark pink with light pink. Blue, green, and yellow accents. The pink edging is worn. There are two small machine-mended areas. One area of applique is worn and one area of the yellow is worn. Antique 1840's - 50's Chintz Quilt for 4 Poster bed Melon Patch whole cloth back
The red print with the black outline has gone mordant. Many small areas are gone. The rest of the fabric is still strong and bright, no other holes or stains. The chintz has lost it's sheen but extraordinary prints. Thin batting, expertly pieced with almost perfect points. Binding shows slight wear. All hand pieced and quilted, 8-9 stitches per inch. Measures 86" by 91 1/2" of which the last 15" is the flap for the 4 poster. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unlesss item is not as described. This is an older item and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Save on combined shipping. Insurance will be added to the cost of shipping if necessary.

Not sure if this is full or queen size. It measures 57" wide and posters stand 87" tall. The only issues are the one side going into poster meeting the head board a chip of wood is missing. And a piece of canopy wooden trim is held together with some tape. Probably just needs gluing, can't see it with canopy on it. If you'd like more close up photos let em know. RARE& FINE ANTIQUE FEDERAL NY POSTER BED ALL POSTS CARVED& REEDED_PHYFE SCHOOL Measurements outside of rails: 81.25" long x 56 3/8" wide. Inside rail measurements: 78" long x 53" wide. The bed is 88" high. Circa 1810. This American bed is possibly from the workshop of Duncan Phyfe. Most early beds of this period had plain front posts. Not the case here. This fine mahogany sheraton bed has four nicely reeded and acanthus carved posts of the best quality. The headboard and posts are original with the rails being changed out at a later date with some alterations to the fittings where the bolts go into the posts. A firm fit. The tester is not available. But one could be added easily enough at a reasonable cost. Minimal wear and tear to this bed are related to age over time. This is one very fine bed. Help yourself ... morehere. Antique Brass Twin Size Poster Bed - Pre 1900
This bed has been in our family for at least 4 generations. We are not sure exactly how old it is. But we know that it was used before the turn of the century. Size- Twin The bed is solid as a rock when put together. It needs a polish and has a few small dents. Cracks(especially in the balls) I've tried to capture that in the images for full disclosure. Bed comes with the boards which have been customized for box spring support to keep it right in the center and away from the wall. Bed DOES NOT come with box spring. Mattress, or bedding.
