There are a couple of small trim pieces where the backsplash meets the base that are missing, a couple that are loose. The top section of the backsplash has seperated and a couple small pieces of carved trimwork are missing as a result(can be seen in the pics) There is a small a chip on the front left edge of the table surface. One of the locks is missing from one of the doors and there is a stain on the top that can be clearly seen in the photo. Im sure there are other bumps/bruises but nothing glaring. All that having been said, this piece is really stunning in person and all of the condition issues are fairly simple repairs. The flaws I mentioned are only noticed upon close scrutiny and have never been pointed out to me by anyone who has seen it in person. Original finish is in good shape, just as it appears in the photos. The color, in person, is probably somewhere between the lightest and darkest photos. The carving on this piece is AWESOME! The quartersawn grain is heavy and pronounced. Bought this piece and the matching server, which I will be listing soon) to restore but I am out of time/space. I feel I have a reasonable opening bid on this piece but if it does not sell, I will restore it and the price will go up considerably. Personally, im kinda getting burned out on the figurals and winged griffins that usually adorn pieces of this quality so its nice to see a great piece without that typical subject matter. This folding doll bed is made of oak. Hand cut wood showing saw marks and has parallel hand cut lines running along the sides. It folds flat to ship easily. You will have to provide the hook-in rails and the canopy top) The top piece of the post lifts off so you can attach the canopy top to it. Color: The bed is a medium brownish colored stain. I believe it is chestnut(but I am not exactly sure) It is very pretty. Lighting varies when taking pictures so all pictures may not look the same for coloring. Antique Oak 3/4 (full) Traditional Bed
Take an adventure back in time and sleep in this antique bed. It is from the Golden Period of Oak. 1880's and forward. The embellishments look to be carved then added. They are not carved into the wood. The headboard is 57 1/2" wide X 74" tall. The side rails are 72" long. The slots that they fit into are 55" apart. The mattress that is currently with it is approximately 53" x 73.5" which is between a 3/4 and a full. Full size sheets will fit the included mattress. The mattress came with the bed which came out of an old farmhouse attic in Oxford, OH. It is in very good condition and I stripped that old finish and revived it. I am selling it simply because I now live in a tiny house and had to sell my old Victorian house. I've had it for more than 30 years.
