Antique Hand Carved Solid Oak Furniture Part Basket of Flowers Shelf Dresser Bed Here we have a very lovely solid oak furniture part. I’m not quite sure what it went to… it could have gone to a bed. A dresser, or an armoire. It has a mortise and tenon construction, and I believe it dates back to the 1870s or before. It would make a perfect wall shelf bottom. It is carved from one solid piece of wood with the exception of the two long pieces of wood on the back. It measures 50-1/4” long(44-7/8” without tenons) 10-7/8” high, and 1-1/2” thick(the solid board measures 7/8” thick. It’s a great piece for a project. Or just as a wall hanger. Antique full size Quarter Sawn Oak bed 1900 vintage
This item is in good condition and the unit was partially restored a few years ago. The area below the bed springs was not restored at the same time and is of older and darker stain. The back side of the head board and foot board are non-restored. You can see this in the photos. However. The non-restored area of the front of the headboard will never be seen once the bed springs and a mattress are assembled. The bottom of the springs sit 10" off the ground. The width of the bed is 56 3/4 inches wide; length of bed is 80' long. The headboard is 73" tall and the foot board is 36" tall. The wood is beautiful quarter sawn Oak. The beauty of this bed lies in the detailed design and craftsmanship to the crest of the headboard and all 4 posts. There is beautiful scroll carving on each bedpost and the crest of the headboard. The ... morespring set appears to be original and in good solid condition. The side boards that hold the mattress are not original and appear to be replacements made of pine, but are intact and sturdy with hardware included. Same goes for 4 wood slats that assist in supporting the bed springs. Included are head board, foot board, side boards, box springs and hardware and 4 wood board slats. Mattress is not included. The bed was manufactured in Altamont. IL according to the paper manufacturer label on back of head board. The label is only a partial label and manufacturer name is illegible.You can pick this bed up in Broadlands, Illlinois, or you can arrange to have a freight company of your choice ship the bed to you. I do not know the exact weight of the bed. Bed must be accepted in"as is" condition. It is a very nice antique piece, and I would love to keep it, but my upstairs bedrooms have dormers and headboard is too tall for the area I would place the bed!

Here is an absolutely fabulous find in wonderful condition. And carefully adapted for use as a queen size bed. a 1922 production quartersawn oak barley twist bed headboard and footboard and matching mirrored dresser. The dresser has a lovely beveled mirror, original teardrop hardware and casters, dovetailed drawer construction and the same beautifully turned barley twist columns as the carved headboard and footboard. Both piece are tagged with the brass C.W. S. Pelaw on Tyne tags of the English Co-Operative Wholesale Society and pencil dated within their stamped 4/8/1922. I've included a number of photographs from all sides and tried to highlight the features outlined here including the tags and stamp marks. This dresser stands 62 1/2 inches tall by 35 1/2 inches wide by 18 inches. Front to back. The lovely beveled mirror is in very nice ... morecondition and is 23 1/2 inches wide by 18 inches tall. The shelf 6 3/4 inches above the top surface across the back has two small drawers, 6 3/4 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches front to back by 2 1/4 inches deep. The three dresser drawers are 29 inches wide by 14 3/4 inches front to back by 5 1/4. 6 1/4 and 7 1/4 inches deep, in descending order, respectively. The beautiful carved barley twist head board and footboard are in lovely condition and have been adapted from their original full size to fittings for rails to make it queen size as is currently generally preferred. There is 54 inches between the original posts(full size width) but the modern adaptation involves attached boards 62 inches in width. With screws set for rails to be set at the queen size 60 inch width. I show a close up of this simple adaptation as well as these pieces from both sides. Bed rails are not included. The beautiful quartersawn oak wood grains, carvings and fabulous turned barley twist columns that really make this incredible early 20th century English bedroom group. Antique Dark Oak Bed and Dresser
I do not buy antiques for their monetary value. I buy pieces because I like them. Therefore. I really do not know details on my items(sorry, I know it makes it more difficult for others to buy them) I believe these are oak and I believe they are from the 1800s. You are buying the bed frame and dresser(not mattress and box springs) The frame for this bed is full size. As pictured, I use a metal converter frame to make it queen size(you can see that my mattress sticks out a bit from the frame) Headboard is 6 feet high. Dresser measures 42" wide. 20" deep and 78" tall. They are in a smoke-free and pet-free home. I think they are in very good condition. Any damage I have found is listed above. Annie's Antique Oak Murphy Bed
Antique. One of a kind, Murphy Bed with the original springs. This is a beautiful piece of furniture in wonderful condition. And comes with a friendly ghost attached! Take it for what you may. We believe her name is Annie. And she apparently is quite proud of the bed because it was where she made her living. We were told by a psychic friend, who had not even realized it was a bed(it gets mistaken for a wardrobe) that he saw a woman whose name he thought was Annie, leaning against the bed and smiling. He told us that when we opened it up we should look for notches carved inside. We didn't think much about it at the time and were preparing to move so had boxes packed such that we couldn't bring it down to check it out. Before we moved it. We brought the bed down and couldn't believe it when we found notches carved all along the ... moreframe holding the springs. They had definitely been carved by someone. And we think that it might just have been Annie. Our proud Madam ghost from at least a hundred years ago, still hanging out with her bed. She is harmless. They do not detract from the beauty of the piece. And the story behind them definitely adds a dimension of intrigue. This is an astounding multi type wood set, with oak being the primary wood. It comes with a wonderful full size, unbelievable carved bed, an extra large carved mirrored dresser, an unusual tall chest, a beautiful carved chair, one of the most unusual, gorgeous vanities with a French shape design that makes it really rare. The set is a mixture of wood: it has burl walnut, straight grain walnut, olive burl ash, straight grain ash, tiger sawn oak, straight grain oak, and unimaginable carved details. The mirrors are original with a deep, beveled acid cut, so it shows an outside edge that really isn't beveled, but is cut to look like it is beveled and they have an age-old haziness to it that has a lot of character. Where a lot of people would replace the mirrors, we would much rather keep the beveled, deep routed cut that is in the glass than replace it with modern day glass. The glass that is in it cannot be duplicated, all that you could do is replace it with modern plate glass. The set has been refinished in our own restoration shop, and has come out beautifully. The nest of tables boast a rich golden oak colour and they are in excellent robust condition. This is an extremely useful piece of furniture and a great asset to have in any office. Living room or hallway and it consumes very little space. It has a beautiful deep rich golden oak patina. Which has been generated by the years of cleaning and care it has received. This exceptional antique furniture piece has been handed down through the seller’s family and is not a reproduction. Originally owned by great grandparents who lived in a log cabin. This bed was inherited by the seller’s family who remember its use in a bedroom of the cabin prior to 65 years ago although no one in the family knows the date it was originally acquired. It features the original beveled mirror, elegant heart-shaped overlays, and has not been refinished(a collector's plus! Folding beds were advertised in Montgomery Ward catalogues prior to 1900. The cabinet measures 78” tall. 58” wide and 27” deep when closed, 80” deep when open. It has a removable mesh/spring support for a mattress(mattress not included) mattress opening measures 50” x 74” A sofa mattress 48” x 72” may be a good choice to allow room for linens. This is a ... morewell made and sturdy free-standing piece that moves easily on its metal casters; it does not need attachment to a wall because of its counterweights explained below. Included are 10 removable original cast iron counterweights on the back that allow the bed to raise and lower almost effortlessly with a slide mechanism. As the front of the bed is lowered to the floor. The counterweights allow the bottom portion of the headboard to butt to the upper section resulting in a 72” high headboard. The weights(12 lbs 10.8 oz. each) are easily accessible and lift out to allow less weight and ease of movement to a new location. I purchased this item in London at auction in February 10th. 2001 for 400 pounds sterling and I had it shipped to the US with a lot of other furniture that I purchased. The auctioneers estimate was actually 400- 600 pounds, so I got a great deal on it. Including the auction commission/ freight. In current dollars, my cost was approx. $900 for this item. As I am leaving. I am looking to recover a lot less than this- great deal for you! The bed is from between 1850- 1890 and is French. As a daybed. The bed is intended to be pushed against a wall, and has a front, and two sides, but no back of the bed. We used the bed in our nursery for our twins. And it was perfect. The carvings and workwork have to be handled with great care, and we have had to put some extra nails in to secure it. If you are looking for a central piece for a nursery. This is it! As a daybed. You can paint it a different color or strip the paint off and see some beautiful oak or leave it as is. It's good and solid, well built. This is a real beauty like nothing I have ever seen. The wood is in extremely good condition no bad spots on the outside considering it is over a hundred years old. Everything works good no stains. No real issues except maybe the mirrors are a little foggy and some of the back panel has been replaced on the dresser which is not a big deal. It was a real professional job There is a small hole in the inside of the armoire on the left top as shown in picture.
