Antique Simmons Brass Bed Frame w/ Side Rails- Full Size, Early 1900s, Headboard
This bed is a beautiful antique with a great rustic or shabby chic type of look. It was made by Simmons in the early 1900s out of brass. It is a full size bed but we do not have a mattress to go with it. The side rails are included. Because it is so old and has been used. Stored and moved so many times it does have quite the collection of dings, scratches, dents and tarnish. It could use a polishing but also looks nice and vintage the way it is. It measures 81" long and 54.5" wide at the outside of the posts and 75" long and 53" wide inside where the mattress would lay. The footboard is 31" tall and the headboard is 50.5" tall. We are pleased to offer this EXQUISITE antique to older vintage(1930s/40s) single bed(including rails) and matching nightstand. The pieces are constructed of mahogany and have been painted at some point. They are exceptionally ornate and feature French. Louis XVI details. The footboard features a triple arched detail and is faced with two fluted, dimensional columns. The fluted pattern is incised and diagonal which is very striking. The legs of the footboard are tuned wood with a block feature. There is also a round, fluted"acorn" shaped section with a unique, carved arch detail. An acanthus scroll pediment is attached below the footboard and it has a double wreath feature in the center section. There is also a beaded trim, which extends the length of the footboard, just above the legs. An incised, rope trim is found at the top. ... moreThe headboard is also ornate with a center acanthus crown at the arched top. This is flanked with a carved finial detail on each side. The headboard features the same, incised columns as the footboard. The edges of both the footboard and headboard are beveled so that the pieces are not just"flat" with no dimension. The matching two drawer nightstand/table features the acanthus scroll trim, beaded trim and leg pattern that are present on the footboard. It has an acanthus crown at center of the stretcher area. The two drawers have dovetail joints with the trim faced on the drawers. THIS IS A VERY ELEGANT AND BEAUTIFUL SET. It is in EXCELLENT structural condition. I am assuming that the set was painted to mask some minor cosmetic age as there is evidence of some surface chips and"dings" under the painted finish. 1917 Old Antique Murphy "in-a-dor" Bed Complete Vintage Art Deco Headboard
This is a Murphy Bed that Came out of a hotel in Atlantic City. And went into my Grandmothers house in the 50's. It says patented March 16,1917(as well as the previous patent dates) It is in perfect working condition, and is balanced and smooth when opening up. It is still in great shape. There is no rust, and all of the springs are intact and working properly. It comes with the Original mattress, and mounting hardware. The bed was designed to mount on the door jamb of closet. when not in use, it pivots inside the closet for storage. When needed, it swivels out of closet, and into the room, you just pull in down, and you have a bed made up and ready to go. You can even have the sheets and blankets on it already. It doesn't have to be mounted in a closet though. We had one in a closet, but this one was mounted to the wall in the corner ... moreof a back sitting room. We had a piece of fabric on a shower curtain like thing that hid it behind decorative fabric. It really is in perfect condition as we rarely used it(Christmas and Easter) There are a few scratches in the paint in the footboard legs(see pics) but other than that, it is a relic that has been perfectly preserved. I am only selling it because we are getting rid of the family house. It is not mounted currently(obviously by the pics) but mounts easily with 8 screws in about 10 mins. This is perfect for someone with an older house that has small rooms. It is great as a guest bed, because it is out of the way until you need it, allowing your guest room to be an office, sitting room or whatever until you have guests over. ANTIQUE WOODEN SLEIGH BED Twin Sized Headboard is 48.5," Footboard is 44" LOVELY
We are selling an antique twin size wooden sleigh bed frame- with both a headboard and footboard. My guess is that the bed frame is from the late 1800's/early 1900's. The headboard and footboard stand fairly tall. Approximately 48.5" and 44, respectively. As you can see, the wood has a really nice grain pattern and is a nice shade of reddish brown; sorry, I don't know a lot about wood and cannot identify the type of tree it is from. As you can also see, the bed is dusty from sitting in my garage and could use a good cleaning; it also has a number of scuffs and dings commensurate with age and use, but is structurally sound. If you are like me, you would rather have a well-made piece piece of antique furniture with some character and patina, than a brand new piece of mass-produced furniture from a discount seller. Indeed, this ... morewas my daughter's first bed. The bed frame is not currently assembled, but I do have the side rails and slats, so it is ready for transport and set up in your home.
