Now featuring a face-lift ... morewith my hand painting rendition of an old Paris post card. This stool was fun to paint, and I sure hope you enjoy viewing it! Oodles of detail involved! After sanding and priming. I painted the background of the legs and the top in a strong pink color. The spindles and the edge of the top were painted with"lavender frost, a lovely color with just a hint of lavender in it. Then the fun began! I painted a detailed border of prim dots to resemble antique lace. In the center of the lace I painted a vintage-looking Parisian postal card. Finishing off the painting are my signature cabbage roses in the corner. Signed by me, and then sealed several times with a high-gloss sealant to offer you years of beauty and use. This stool is old. It has a slight wobble to it. But it's still plenty sturdy. I have sat and stood on this, and it held me just fine. Through the years there was some repair work done to the stool(I believe the stool is hand-made) as there is some glue residue down a leg or two. I couldn't sand the residue off, so what the heck, I just painted right over it. This just adds, I feel, to the vintage charm of this piece! No miniature here.the stool measures a full 17-3/4 inches high. The top is 1 foot squared. The legs"flare" out a little bit at the bottom. And they are 11-1/2 inches deep, front to back, and their widest point. What a wonderfully unique way to display a potted plant in your front foyer or outside on your patio! Give your little Granddaughter her own special place to sit when she comes to visit you by letting her rest upon this! You could even display a cherished knicknack on this enclosed under a ball jar. However you decide to display it(or actually USE it to reach those pesky high-up items) It's sure to draw compliments! A gorgeous 19 th century French bed canopy(ceil de lit) with deep reposse brass demi lune surround and a magnificent central cartouche to its front. The underside roof of this canopy is covered in antique blue French toile early to mid 19 th century with a complete pastoral scene of boy with flute and his lady and dog by his side. Measuring 25& ½ inch(65cm) at the widest point& 13 inch(33cm) front to back and the back on the wall is 21& ½ inch(54.5cm) We have not cleaned the brass surround which is rich old gold colour with the passage of time. Antique Vintage French Pure Linen Bed Sheet Monogram B L 10 ft long
Fabulous classic antique French white linen sheet with B L monogram Pure linen. Pure white French bed sheet with B L monogram and laundry mark. This is in a lovely heavy. Slubby linen, with ladder-like'jours' to decorate and an oval white-on-white hand-embroidered oval monogram. It measures 81 inches by 120 inches- nearly 7 feet by 10 feet The monogram. A raised oval measures 9 inches by 4 1/2 inches and features a stylised large B with an L crossing it in the centre. The ornate'jours' run along 2 1/2 inches inside the decorated edge and 21 inches up each side. The'plain' hem is machine finished. And in one corner is a little cross-stitched red'B L' which served as a laundry mark, although it is highly possible that this sheet was never used, such is its condition. I can't, however, guarantee that it hasn't ... morebeen used. The linen feels very crisp and not softened and conditioned as washed linen becomes. There are a couple of little storage marks here and there which will launder out. I haven't attempted any laundering myself as I prefer it to be authentically'vintage' It weighs just under 2 kg. The inside measurements are 77" long x 55" wide so should fit a full size mattress The bed has been painted white and there is a little bit of gray paint on the inside of the headboard. This is a French Generals Campaign Bed. Purchased by the lady who gave it to my client, in Paris, France in the 1950's. This Campaign bed/chair is extremely rare. I have not been able to find another similar with the scroll work and detailing. Open this bed is 29.5" Wide X 80" Long X 16" OFF THE GROUND. The foot panel is 11" High This bed has been borrowed by the Metropolitan Opera for several of it's past performances. I believe this bed is made out of Iron(But it maybe steel) The upholstery interior is a dense cotton. There are 2 cushion- one is 2 panel- one is 4 panel- to be used interchangeably if the piece is to be used as a a bed or a chair. Below the cotton fabric which is on it now- on the cushions. A normal full size bed is 54 x 75. The inside dimensions of this bed are 72 inches wide, and 78 inches long. It’s too wide to be a queen, which measures 60 x 80. We can make this into a king size bed, which is 80 x 80, for an additional $400. What this entails is putting in a center panel and center brace. This would look completely factory, and would be stunning. ... moreOr, you can buy it as is, and have a custom-made mattress fit to it. You can also split them up and use them as two odd-sized twins. Now, about the beds: They are beautiful, with unusual solid oak wreath carving of unblemished oak and berry carved crests on top. They have raised panel fronts, doubles on the headboard, picture frame molded panels on the footboard with picture frame molding underneath, little rosettes carved out of solid oak all through the front and back, and Hepplewhite style block legs. The footboards have diamond point mosaic panel inserted, with carved columns coming down the sides, and with the wreaths and tassels and all those carvings, it’s just a beautiful pair that would make a really nice-looking king bed. The size the way the beds are set up right now is 75.5 inches wide, 39 inches high at the footboard, and 57 inches high on the headboard. It’s finished in a medium oak stain, and the overall condition is great. The beds can also be taken apart to make the unusual sized twin beds, measuring 34 inches wide, by 77 inches long, if desired. Measuring a large approx 160" wide x 120" long so suitable for a big bed. This could be used as a sheet or would be equally impressive as a bed cover as it has bands of unusual drawn threadwork and ornate well raised satin stitch initials which I read as'P A or H' It has a lovely rustic look to it which would be well suited to a home in keeping with its age or would fit in well to give a period bedroom look. A magnificent antique French bed cover measuring about 86" wide and 93" long. Beautiful cut work embroidery and filet lace on pure linen fil. Fil is the finest quality linen used for bed linen. Inner frame of filet lace about 58" long. 49" wide and 3" deep. Inside this frame is a filet lace oval with cherubs about 21" x 31" The oval filet lace at head of bed(pillows) is about 27" x 12" Sides of the cover have filet lace triangular trim with long tassels. Total about 6½" deep. Top and bottom of cover have a 1.2" hem with fine pulled thread work. More filet lace lozenges running along the sides. No wearing or stains. I have not washed. Up for auction today is a doll my wife has had since she was a child. She's not sure but believes it was given to her by her grandmother and was told it is supposed to depict Marlene Dietrich. This textile would have hung from either a 4 poster bed or a half tester ~ The front is wonderfully printed cotton. Printed in Alsace and the backing is a woven Ikat from Provence. Late 19th century bed pelmet and curtains( c1890-1900) This textile was most likely used at the top and sides of a bed nook ~ Wonderful chinoiserie designed, printed linen. The front of this beautiful textile is made from a wonderful printed linen with soft tones of natural linen ground, pale china blue, pale milk chocolate, natural sage green and warm beige print. Charming scenes of family life ~ This textile has a trim that runs along the inside of both curtain panels and the bottom of the pelmet. It is back in a heavy weight twill weave linen and cotton mix fabric. Ready to hang! ~ the linen has a beautiful plain weave, a truly stunning textile. The colors of this front fabric are all dyed using tones of the madder root, a very stable dye that was used extensively throughout time for its wonderful tones and stability. Constructed of walnut, a lovely soft, mellow timber with light grain. Definitely antique, we would date this very pretty piece to c1880. The bed features sweeping. Flowing curves and consists of a bedhead and foot, and two side rails. It features a beautifully shaped bedhead, plainer than the foot. The foot of the bed has panel work and a large ... morecentral carved motif- beautiful carving, with elegance and style. The shaped side rails also have a central carved motif for decorative effect. So pretty! This lovely bed measures 137 wide to the outside of the rails. The bed is 144cm at it's widest point across the bedhead. It is 187cm in length to the inside rail. And approximately 200cm in overall length. A timber base could be fitted to the rails to hold the mattress which may need to be slightly smaller than a standard double. I would recommend measuring your mattress and checking the dimensions against those of the bed. Some will fit, some may not. Please contact us if you are unsure.
